Most of coins found today are shit coins. They are just pumped and dumped.Zcash was expecyed a lot but its now struggling.Just like ETC for Ethereum, Zcash classic (ZCL) is there for zcash.Monero is widely accepted for its anonymity.I hope Decred is a under valued altcoin. In the long run, Monero and dash would survive in the future.

The main thing that was Bitcoin, and the rest is nonsense. Other coins are needed to get more Bitcoins.

That's a sure thing that bitcoin might survive in the future but we are talking about alt coins. I can see a lot of it as of now, but the future is playing a lot of things and still changes are possible to happen. I think the strongest one so far is Monero, I think that this is going to have a good future and also Iconomi too, I'm still thinking of some.
Agree, I am of the idea that many can survive if at some point  these have the approval and acceptance of several sectors, it would be illogical to think that a single platform could be able to support huge amounts of transactions at once, even with today's technology is unfeasible, also not forget that there are many coins in the world, therefore the variety in things is always a good choice, right now it's still a very early version of the cryptocurrencies that they offer, it is still not clear how these various alternative solutions will interact for faster, safer and more efficient transactions, and with the diversity of brands software and technological devices sure the answer will be directed towards the same thing, if each solution wants to be competitive it must be sure to offer the bridges to other solutions.

For me litecoin and etherium would survive in the future. As long there's a community that supports these altcoins. These would really survive in the future by continuos developing and providing support on these altcoins.

Based on what it has been seen among the wide array of altcoins such as development, innovation, and security issues, what altcoins might survive in the future?

In my opinion, I think that the only ones prone to survive would be good old altcoins such as Litecoin and Dogecoin, but I may be wrong.

Nevertheless, I would like to know your opinion about this as well as any altcoin that might be worth holding onto for the long term.  Grin

what about coins that implement the bitcoin blockchain.

syscoin is an excelent example of that fact, there also close to microsoft certification, and in fact have recieved $120.000k in funds from them. Syscoin is one of the worlds first decentralized markets accepting Bitcoin Dash Zec sys+peg rates for even more currencies, the alias system is a great concept too. it is also ready to impliment segwit.

yet this coin is not often talked about enough somehow.

heads up Porject Mongoose.

I would definatly have this in my altfolio along with btc eth waves lisk and others

Some might survive, cuz they have good community and developing team and for others they are dead even before they start like some.
Personally you need several thing for coin to be successful but i dont see any alt that could be here i mean there are some but not to be like bitcoin.

Litecoin and Dogecoin are the pioneering altcoins although there one of the altcoins that can survive, aside from them there is ethereum, Dao, Xmr, Wbb, etc that are probably will continously stand.

For a currency to survive, it must bring something that solves people's problems, because that's what generates demand. Everything will depend on the market conditions, of course, and on how such conditions generates an incentive for the use of these cryptocurrencies.

If there is demand, currencies like LTC, XMR and ETC may find space in the market. It is also important to study the possibility of investing in cryptos that bring something really new, that is difficult to implement in Bitcoin, and that, of course, bring consistent improvements to the currency. One of the coins I could mention is Byteball, which uses DAG, a technology very different from POW and that maintains the focus on scalability and usability.

And lastly, sometimes diversification is good, but the alts market is still very risky, and in such conditions most experts would advise investing a small portion of the capital in it.

Judging by what we have seen throughout the years, IMO, the only coins that have the chance to survive in the future are the ones offer new and disrupting features. All the other ones will end up dying

I agree but there are a lot of good coins coming up with good features and large community, one of this is Burstcoin ,the coin that can get a lot of volume and supports from investors and miners are the one who's going to stay here ,we;ll know this 2017 if those coins that launches last year are building up.

Not at all. Te bitcoin blockchain can absorb all the money on the planet, it doesn't care, the price can get as high as needed, and the bitcoin token can get as divisible as needed.

I don't think bitcoin will ever lose his 80%+ market dominance unless a revolutionary coins is released that solves all the fundamental flaws. All altcoins have the same fundamental flaws, and since nothing is perfect and since bitcoin got the best developers and the best network effect, bitcoin will remain number 1.

That is certainly true. While Bitcoin can handle all the world's transactions, it would come up at the expense of having slower transaction confirmations if proper scalable solutions are not implemented. If every transaction in the world would be recorded on Bitcoin's blockchain, then the time that it would take for nodes to sync would be a whole lot more than what it is right now, not to mention the huge storage capacity that nodes would need to have for the blockchain data.

Still, Bitcoin has the best developers in contrast to other alternative cryptocurrencies, and I'm sure that they come up with innovative tech that would improve Bitcoin as time goes by. It will remain the top cryptocurrency, unless another altcoin comes up with a solution with Bitcoin's current flaws like fungibility and scalability, while at the same time preserving its deflationary model with no premine nor founder's reward. Just sharing my thoughts.  Grin

I dont know which coins would able to survive for long in the future since most of them usually go down after they launched but i strongly believe about LTC since its still there standing and almost the same age of bitcoin but still no one would really know if they could able to survive for more years and for sure there are new coins to be launched and would join the competition.

No one, follow the technology, someone will create more innovative cryptocurrency and everyone jumps to another boat.
I would say something like zcash with extreme privacy protection

"Survive" ?

What ? you didn't notice that they all start off high in price and eventually drop and then get delisted one day ?
Survive ? They are not surviving as it is NOW  Roll Eyes
All of them are a slow death.. you all just cling to one day being baggy's.

And the 1 or 2 that don't get delisted are your Doge's or Ethereum's that loiter around clinging to the exchanges simply because they got popular before.
Any coin that got big in the past will always have crypto-dreg's buying up cheap coinz nom nom nom
hoping for any type of repeat pump so they can dump for a few sat's.

You guys need to work on being real.

There's going to be MANY! We're going to need a lot of blockchains to absorb the entire world's money supply.  Cheesy Kiss Cool
