There is some altcoins that we all know about the past and guess their future. These altcoins have counted above.
they have already survived until now. if you wonder some new altcoins which might survive in the future, you should be awake and watchful about new projects, their ICOs and achievement on marketplace. any altcoin's permanent shaped according to the success of project.
Except of them will be lost in the end.

Based on what it has been seen among the wide array of altcoins such as development, innovation, and security issues, what altcoins might survive in the future?

In my opinion, I think that the only ones prone to survive would be good old altcoins such as Litecoin and Dogecoin, but I may be wrong.

Nevertheless, I would like to know your opinion about this as well as any altcoin that might be worth holding onto for the long term.  Grin

In my opinion, ETHEREUM and DASH will survive in future . Both are very fundamentally strong coins . ETHEREUM is a more stable coin  .It may cross BITCOIN in future .So holding ETHEREUM is good choice and will pay a very handsome profit in future.LITECOIN and DOGECOIN are also good, but ETHEREUM is so much stronger than these coins.

Sadly you are wrong with Doge Coin. It is already  abandoned years ago and only bagholders trade it as pump and dump coin. Those who have solid project will survive. It doesn't mean you are already been in the industry. There are many altcoin in the past that has no development at all. Better choose wisely before holding a long term altcoin.

I am of opinion that ethereum might be the only surviving altcoin based on it's usage, development and clear road map for it's scaling and possible adoption by all and sundry. If we are sincere, there is no altcoin that have created serious value and uses like ethereum.

There are a ton of pump and dump shit coins and scam coins out there so you have to do your do diligence and research projects thoroughly. Make sure there is a real world use case and a good team. Research social media get to know what your buying.
With that said, DEEP ONION AND DRAGONCHAIN will be around long after many projects...Great use cases and fantastic dev teams!!!!!

I think one of the altcoins that will survive in the near future is ethereum. The value of ethereum is increasing and also ethereum has many supporters. But i'm not biasing ethereum there are also good altcoins in the crypto world like litecoin, dash and many more. for the second thought i think all altcoins may survive because there are many people are in the crypto world.

Yes. Ethereum will grow alongside Bitcoin for many years to come. It has proven to deliver constant development, innovation, and active community, allowing it to remain in its rightful place on crypto land. Considering that it is the second biggest cryptocurrency in terms of market cap, it could survive in the future. As for other altcoins on the market, they could also survive in the future if they deliver promising features, a dedicated development team, and most of all, active community. But, if development decides to abandon the cryptocurrency, then there will be no interest from people in the community to use it or support it, resulting in an altcoin's death in the future.

Things aside, I believe that privacy focused altcoins and old cryptocurrency would most likely survive in the future. Litecoin has been around crypto land for quite a few years, and it has been often compared as silver to Bitcoin's gold. On the other hand, privacy focused coins like Monero and Dash have also been on the market for quite some time, and have managed to deliver the goods. Therefore, any coin could survive in the future if it delivers real use cases in the mainstream world. Just my opinion Smiley

For me, i consider ethereum as the altcoin that has a good chance of surviving the future and follow the footstep of bitcoin. With the second highest market cap on the market,it has proven all skeptic wrong and has shown stability through the years of its existence. With a solid platform that back it up, it gain a lot of support from investors and the community itself as a good investment. Aside from ethereum i consider also the top 25 altcoins to survive the future.

I think 2018 will be a turn in crypto world, and yes I agree all shticoins will disapear, however I do not share your idea about dogre which is for me shitcoin wiht no future

Top 100-250 Coin's are a safe bet and maybe Top 10-25 as well.

I see you aren't doing crypto long enough. Go to https://coinmarketcap.com/historical/20130630/ and tell me which of these coins are in your pocket (except for btc and ltc)?  Exactly: none.  because they're all gone or worth next to nothing.  You aren't 'safe' with the biggest coins.  Especially in an overbought and hyped market as crypto.  In fact, your chances of earning serious money are bigger if you research enough and invest in something good that isn't even near CMC.  THAT will give you x10000, not just by buying soemthing that already went x100

Live coins with a development team backing them and some use cases will survive. Being new or old doesn't matter if the coin doesn't advance with the rest of crypto ecosystem.

The altcoins will survive in the future, they are called good old altcoins, because they managed to survive for a long time and they shine the brightest. In my opinion, the both that you wrote above can survive, but i add the etherium in my partfolio. I'm sure, that  it is the second most valuable cryptocurrency, next to the most popular, the bitcoin.
I also believe in old coins that have long been outstanding and became popular today. One of the most trusted coins I believe is etherum, the current development of etherum is very good. Look at market share owned by etherum has made many people believe and comfortable to their investment to coin etherum. If juxtaposed then I think etherum is the best altcoin available today, that is my opinion and maybe your opinion is different. Believe everyone has their beliefs.

2018-2020 is going to be potentially massive we may see some regulation coming in but excellent time to buy now and invest for Long Term.  I personally reckon the coin's with Sold Technologies will stay.

Too many Ponzi Scheme's and pointless Alt's there.  Over longer term around 100-250 will last rest won;t.

Top 100-250 Coin's are a safe bet and maybe Top 10-25 as well.

DOGE is worth a punt as like LTC it's been around since the start.  DOGE I have bought as you never know it can go to $1 and imagine the gains!!!!
