I believe in several projects, but as Vitalik once said, many will die ... but ETH, WAVES, NEO, DECRED, CHRONOLOGIC, ARK, MONERO and DASH believe they are alive in 5 years

I think those altcoins that are always on the top 10 marketcap will stay for sure until the very end. They are not a pump and dump coin and are very promising. They are all sleeping giants like ripple and nem that has always been quiet and everyone is just waiting for them to reach the the moon.

There are too many cryptocurrencies that are rising as altcoins. No one can tell what altcoin can sustain and surpass others.

regulations and coins that have clear office and corporate data will always survive in the future, eventually the government will force all crypto startups to comply with kyc rules for the word "legal", markets like bittrex have begun to apply high standards for all new coins and refuse which does not have a clear letters of data.

Based on what it has been seen among the wide array of altcoins such as development, innovation, and security issues, what altcoins might survive in the future?

In my opinion, I think that the only ones prone to survive would be good old altcoins such as Litecoin and Dogecoin, but I may be wrong.

Nevertheless, I would like to know your opinion about this as well as any altcoin that might be worth holding onto for the long term.  Grin
information that could be a warning for me to have the altcoin, also we can see a coin can survive if there are still many people who seek and hold or many projects  such as eth

In particular, I'm watching two projects: the Argentine Rootstock and the Chinese Qtum. Also I'm very optimistic about Zcash, Monero and Dash.

RaiBlocks  is one to watch. Huge potential and a really interesting technology. It's unique in its ability to offer unlimited throughput, which it manages by taking a pretty revolutionary approach to transaction ordering: account holders assign a transaction order for both debit and credit transactions. You can read more about how it work here: https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/7buyw1/how_raiblocks_provides_unlimited_transaction/

Ethereum will survive, of course. It's the most useful cryptocurrency giving decentralized apps, it will survive even if Bitcoin dies

I think a lot of altcoins will survive.
What is future to you? 1 year, 5 years 20 years? and what are you calling survive?

I think all coins who are now over a 1 million marketcap will be also popular in the future, some more some less.

Instead of getting in this never ending debate, i will follow simple rule that coins that are on Poloniex and Bittrex are the well known coins and they have good volume and popularity and they will survive for a long term maybe for 2 to 5 years or even more. For the rest of the coin, if they can go through a year or so, it would be great achievement for them.

Stable altcoins will survive forever as long as the cryptocurrency sector survives without a major problem. We can give instances such as ripple, ltc, etc, eth, xmr xrp and simlar things.

I'm eyeing for Litecoin too, but not Dogecoin. For Litecoin is said to be the sleeping giant, you will not know when will it bloom while Dogecoin have no futuristic insight, it was just made for fun. Anyway, one of the trend altcoin is Ethereum so maybe i'll stick to this coin for future purposes.

It might survive in the future are ethereum, litecoin, dash and dogecoin. The number one in my list is ethereum because we know it, that is always near of bitcoin in the market. I wondered how far can go the other altcoins.

Remove doge from this list, ethereum, dash, monero are probably the best option for long term, litecoin had his time how and now it will be in stable range until next halving. Many will test luck with some ICOs but this is only on short term investment.

Seconded on this, doge is just a nuisance coin for me. There's nothing to gain on this coin unless you have been holding millions of it. Litecoin is also being considered by many traders now and with the advertisement of John McAfee about monero being used now in the dark web in replacement of bitcoin because of it's full anonymity this coin is something that will survive for years together with bitcoin.
