✪ NEXCHANGE | BTC, LTC, ETH & DOGE ✪
I will go, on one hand, with altcoins that are traded in most exchanges. LTC, DOGE, ETH and XMR come to mind. At the very least, they will be useful to move money between exchanges without using BTC, and also their base markets are likely to be helpful.

On the other hand there are coins that are helpful without depending on BTC... IOTA and such.

I will go for Ether, because they look very stable, and right now are dealing well with their problems. LTC will always be there I think, but only because they are like a test network for bitcoin. I don't know much, but I don't think they are very different from BTC. I don't really like BCH, but they do have some important people behind them, that could keep them alive, so who knows. Finally I also like dash, because like Ether they are different from BTC, so they might have something to offer, and they also look stable. Recently I saw this article that talks about Ripple, so maybe they could have a future to.

My opinion is that on realy long term only those can survive that are exchangable for something tangible.
What is long term and what is survive for someone is another question.
I believe Xaurum is a coin worth holding for some time since it has a growing gold base.
This means you have everyday more physical gold behind it. And gold will survive in the future Smiley
each altcoin must have its target and purpose. for example like xaurum, the developers must have declared how the results will be in the future. they will definitely give a statement that their coin is the best, obviously we should clearly pay attention to how the roundmap will be generated from the coin. that way we can get good results by having the best altcoin. because not all altcoins will work, many will fail without success.

in my opinion i will choose ethereum, zcash, and litecoin

zcash is already half dead and ethereum is a zombie being pumped. the only remaining option is litecoin and not because it is a good coin but only because it belongs to Chinese and they love it.
and you are forgetting about coins with something to offer like monero and iconomi

Really quite something to read back into some of the original posts in this thread.

Zcash, Eth, monero and litecoin see the moon.

Trident Protocol | Simple «buy-hold-earn» system!
altcoins are now circulating too much, it confuses me to hold alot altcoins. So, i keep insisting on altcoins i've known long ago like LTC, ETH and XRP. my priority is LTC to be used as daily transaction option, because tx fee still low and fast confirmed.

Don't forget the queen of coins QTUM:

The reason I think QTUM will join NEO is as follows (a few of the reasons)

1. Interview of QTUM team on CCTV, will create awareness (Chinese news channel supported by Govt and PBOC)

2. Will have a WeChat or QQ integration, WeChat's mini-programs will allow users to transact using QTUM and also avail its service by paying through QTUM

3. Number of DApps built on QTUM > number of DApps built on NEO

4. Rumoured they have two 100 billion remninbi investor backing

5.  Asian Exchange listing

6 - they are planning to launch QEA (QTUM Enterprise Alliance).  Now there is speculation they are in talks with Alibaba and Tencent as the first allies but that has not been confirmed so at this stage please just treat it as pure rumour only.  Don't factor that into any price considerations.

But do your own research. I hold NEO and Qtum and OMG and TRST.

For me, I guess ethereum is the no. 1 in my list it will survive in the future. Then the remaining follows like FCT, XRP and others. But for me, the altcoins will continue to survive as long as their are investors that will continue to invest. That is my point of view.

I will say bitcoin and ethereum for sure, then among alts, you need to identify the top 1 and 2 in each segment where there is a real customer need.

I would say 2 examples: Dash for the privacy, XRP for it's bank relation.

DeepOnion will last. It is integrated over tor.
That way no sort of centralized power can alter with it.
and the transactions are secure and about as anon as you would want it to be.

www.Crypto.Games: Multiple coins, multiple games
Based on the volume trade per day, the price and the user itself. If many people keep trading and using that altcoin so we don't need to worry about that. That altcoin will survive for sure, i think not only litecoin and dogecoin that will survive but other altcoin too like Dash, LTC, Ethereum, NEM and many else.

Agree. Altcoins survival is limited to the amount of trading volume it has, and user interest to keep it going. When an altcoin cannot deliver constant development and innovation, it will stale and eventually die as people will switch out to a different coin which is being actively supported by its underlying development team and community.

Of course, many altcoins have managed to remain actively traded over the years like Litecoin and Dogecoin, making them survive as long as there is money flowing into them. Perhaps, the altcoins we see today as the most prominent ones on the market, may not be so within a couple of years from now.

One thing for sure is that altcoins are usually full of hype, and when that hype cycle is over, people will leave them behind to choose the newest ones in the market. Take a look at ZCash for example, which was overhyped within its early days since launch, but eventually fell down in value, as the hype period came to an end.

Therefore, it would be wise to buy and hold old altcoins like Litecoin, Dogecoin, and even Namecoin for the long term, as they have remained stable in community support for many years since their inception. Just my opinion Smiley

I think there is a wide array of altcoins that can and will survive the future. Tokens that provide value to a world wide network of particpants include but are not limited to projects like Colony, OmiseGo, Everex, District0x, Grid Plus etc. These are projects whose tokens all serve a wide base and tackle real world problems / use-cases.

Buy $BGL before it's too late!
Probably lesser altcoins won't survive far into the future. Btc, eth, ltc and even ripple probably would be around for a long time. These coins have quite a few supporters and a good team behind it and the project itself. There are a lot of altcoins that have come and went already but these established alts are likely to stay.

At this moment there are too many altcoins, some of them have a high value, without any benefits.
I think many will not survive, only ethereum, dogecoin, litecoin and maybe some others will survive in the future
