What do you mean by surviving? If you're talking about long term coins i suggest LITECOIN, RIPPLE, NEO, ETH and WAVES. I see brighter future with these coins and their prices today is quite stable.
If you are looking for the long term benefit, then do not forget to remember bitcoin cash too,as it is proving to be an asset with the mining of its 8 MB block and Litecoin is not performing up to the mark as it was expected ,the price is not steady,Ripple is centralized and so i do not trust that,NEO ,ETH and Waves are one and same and if we could see some markets popping up with NEO we could see another rally in them .

This ICO will have Pre-Order soon, and since there is an investment company involved, I think they have all chances for a long life https://finles.capital/white-paper.pdf

NEO is definitely one to watch. Nicknamed as China's Ethereum. Hopeful for something big.

Some altcoins offer unusual concepts and have higher chances for success in the future, e.g. these guys here claim they offer a new strategy with lower risks and investements in private equity https://medium.com/fundcoins/fundcoin-ico-announcement-cd32a95fb241

Based on what it has been seen among the wide array of altcoins such as development, innovation, and security issues, what altcoins might survive in the future?

In my opinion, I think that the only ones prone to survive would be good old altcoins such as Litecoin and Dogecoin, but I may be wrong.

Nevertheless, I would like to know your opinion about this as well as any altcoin that might be worth holding onto for the long term.  Grin

I just started joining this forum and I haven't made any investments on any altcoins. But, I've been aware of crypto currency since 2011. There were coins that I've heard before I started and is still here until now. So, I think those coins who had survived for a long time like Dogecoin, litecoin, ETH would still survive in the future.

The level at which BTC and even Ethereum is running, it has done what's needed to profit ALL digital forms of money. It has kind of given couple of years life saver to all others which likewise specified by Secco. Notwithstanding, you have to keep awy the word SURVIVE, as it's not about that but rather about GROWTH and adequate for profit. This is the place I don't see Altcoin up the stamp, yet then simply my view it is.

Maybe top 5 altcoin will survive because of their static volume level, but there is one concern I have about bch where this coin is still unstable but able to make market turbulent after sharp decline, I'm sure bch will not last long, but maybe my view is different with other trader.

Yeah! I hate ShroomsKit!
Only true innovative coins will survive. But not all the innovative coins will do. Only those with good marketing can be sure they will survive.

Examples:

Ethereum
Dash
Ripple
Monero
Ardor & Ignis

Litecoin, Monero, ethereum, waves, stratis are gonna stay here for ever and right now stratus and waves is quiet undervalued and everyone should consider investing in these coins.

Madness blowing up costs altcoins can't proceed inconclusively. When financial specialists figure out how to think sufficiently profound to know who the sucker being referred to, costs of altcoins start to fall inflexibly. We can do this at the earliest opportunity. I might want to see a more purposeful exertion inside the Bitcoin development to request legitimate reactions and report as quacks the individuals who are not ready to offer them.

Peercoin seems to be still doing alright at this stage, though flying slightly under the radar at the moment. It's also the original Proof-of-Stake coin, so it has that going for it as well, along with being relatively stable price-wise in comparison to how volatile Bitcoin can be.

I'd probably go with Ethereum or anything else that is innovative and isn't a clone coin.

I think that ethereum will survive in the future, given that there are good projects under ethereum and many people trust ethereum. Services are fast and reliable. However the supply of Ether was projected to increase by 14.75% in 2017, gradually declining to 1.59% by 2065. But a new implementation of Ethereum named "Casper" based on proof of stake rather than proof of work is expected to reduce the inflation rate to between 0.5% to 2%. But I still believe ethereum will survive in the future.

Ethereum will definitely be around. It's really tough to say though which other ones. Ones that can continue to develop and appease masses.

I think a lot of altcoins will survive.
What is future to you? 1 year, 5 years 20 years? and what are you calling survive?

I think all coins who are now over a 1 million marketcap will be also popular in the future, some more some less.

Yeah I also think a lot of altcoins will survive. Because when one goes up, one goes competing. They won't let themselves vanish in the currency world for sure.

I suggest Dash, ZEC, ETH. I think those altcoins  have strong community and they are taking part in many platform projects.
I still wait for new altcoin which it has full of bitcoin and altcoins power but I do not know when it happens.

It's true .. i think altcoin that will survive is old altcoin groups like doge, litecoin .. i think eth will also survive in the future .. the coin users are alot in this world in compare the new altcoin. If you want to own the altcoin maybe it's a good investment way besides you have bitcoin.

I think, Monero, Litecoin, Ethereum, these coins will stay for long, may be for life. We will get a lot of coins in future. May be we will get even better coin. but it seems these 3 are valuable. they have large community support, active devs teams, large market cap, extensive trading volume. Over all they have large potentials. IMO they are leaders. If you have any other coin in mind, help me by sharing your opinion

Hi everyone, like the most of people said, the real life use is the most important factor to make prodictions for altcoins. I think that ETH, XRP, IOTA, BCC/BCH and some others will survive. Because those coins have really good background work by their  team and experience in the minds of people used. But the coins like LTC, ETC and DOGE will not be able to live long enough to see coming digital age.
