Why isn't there more intrest in altcoins which actually have something to offer / a project?

Factom? Ripple? Iconomi? Civic? Stellar? etc...

FYI, since many ppl who put their favorites here, probably have them in their wallet, I'd like to add, I've only got one of the five I've mentioned ;-)
Factom is good altcoin should invest in today because the price of this coin has falldown to range price in May, before the time this coin pumped. Ripple in current need falldown to @4000 for think again and buy small amount, but I think this coin not should invest in long term because this is a token!

IMO Ethereum won't exist in the future.
They have big difficulties to scale, and all big updates are still not there (POS, new faster VM etc ...).

A new alt (EOS maybe) will take his place if nothing change.

Dogecoin will survive in my opinion.
Because the price is relatively stable
And many people use it.

I think it's super interesting who is still around from years ago - 'Syscoin' 'Nautilus coin' etc. I am not even sure of the intrinsic value of these tokens in today's market (Syscoin is a very basic smart contract I think) but the teams behind them are pushing on regardless. I hope they are still here in 10 years time to prove that not everyone is here to make a fast buck - some people are more considered.

Any crypto currency world anything is possible. May be at one moment we thought  one coin will survive and the next moment our thoughts changed. Every one has different opinion about survival of altcoin. I might be wrong but in my opinion ETH and LTC will survive in future.

Agree. In crypto land, anything is possible from shitcoins rising to the top, to the most prominent coins falling down massively in value. It would be up to you to choose a coin which you believe it may survive in the long term, by taking your due diligence to research about its underlying development team and future proposals that will make it grow for many years to come.

As for me, I believe that good old coins like Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, and even Dogecoin will survive in the future as they have a dedicated development team, a supportive community, and network strength with their established nodes and miners. With all the recent uptrend in price that Bitcoin and other altcoins have been experiencing, crypto is here to stay and evolve for the long term.

Perhaps, someday in the future we will be able to see the most prominent cryptocurrencies become used in the mainstream world, from major merchants and businesses alike joining the blockchain economy. Imagine, being able to buy something at almost any physical store around the world with your Bitcoins or any other cryptocurrency. Only time will tell if this will happen in the future. Just my opinion Smiley

Based on what it has been seen among the wide array of altcoins such as development, innovation, and security issues, what altcoins might survive in the future?

In my opinion, I think that the only ones prone to survive would be good old altcoins such as Litecoin and Dogecoin, but I may be wrong.

Nevertheless, I would like to know your opinion about this as well as any altcoin that might be worth holding onto for the long term.  Grin

I'm reading a lot of stratis fanboys comments on the coin, seems like a real Etherium competitor.
I also happen to think NEM has a good chance in the future, it's base in Malaysia and south-east Asia is very grounded there.

Yeah. Both Stratis and NEM are constantly developed cryptocurrencies with huge potential. They could become more valuable in the future, as they deliver promising features that make them extremely usable in the mainstream world.

With Stratis, you'll be able to test, run, and deploy blockchains, that serve as a solid ground for experimentations and any future development related to this highly evolving field. As it provides everything developers need to get started exploring the blockchain technology, Stratis could become extremely useful for businesses, companies, and startups to get ahold of this exciting technology.

As for NEM, it also has a good future, since it provides many unique features, along with a robust blockchain platform that is much faster than Bitcoin. One of the most interesting features that it has is the node reputation system. This is important for the security of any cryptocurrency, as it ensures honest nodes within the ecosystem. In that sense, NEM may turn out to become much secure than Bitcoin itself.

Nevertheless, there are many good altcoins out there which are worth watching as they provide promising features, and constant dedication from their development teams and communities. It would be up to you to choose the most prominent ones, which are prone to survive for many years to come. Just my opinion. Smiley

In these moments when some speak with doubts, about the permanence of Bitcoin in the long term,
a project with a clear vision to remain totally decentralized, has many chances in the future :

hmmmm I feel ethereum and zcash will survive till the end of Bitcoin.
I don't think Bitcoin will survive for more than 10 years from now.
Sourcing can be defined in many ways,
there are some coins which are used by only a part of a single community,
will you call that surviving?

I think the altcoins that might survive in the future are ethereum, litecoin, ripple, monero, ethereum classic, dashcoin, augur and maidsafecoin.
And i choose all of them because i use marketcap as base for ref and we can check at here https://coinmarketcap.com
and the developers of altcoins always make updating the coins.
Yes altcoins should survive in future to the market. Because it is also a form of coin that helped and developed by bitcoin so it is better to look and see that alternative coin can have a future. In fact many altcoin set price and value to the market and can be also try on trading and investing on such alternative coin because its price is more likely to have movement in the market that is quite good for bitcoin because it can help on bitcoin development and market control of stock.

Waves is going to be the next etherium. There are many tokens created there, the trading site is also decentralized with wallet. Many developers made succesful ICO like zrcoin and starta. Many tokens gives devidents to the holders like wavesgo. I think the wavesplatform is interesting projects. However I don't like the design of the dex ( decentralized exchange in wallet waves). If the dezign is friendly and easy tab I think Dex will be more interesting.

Yes you right i personaly agree with waves dex is not so friendly in user it quiet hard to trade in there flatform but its quiet interisting i think if they update soon about the trading flatform and make it simple and friendly to user is the best for waves. And other points is they are make easy on making a lot of tokens thats the reason why some of token in waves dex having a clone my scammers i hope they can fix this. A lot of clone token setting in waves dex

I liked monero, litecoin, ethereum. Now I have started to like waves, MGO and Gamecredits. Game has real life product, so do MGO. Waves are becoming popular and useful. Many will come and my list will be longer. but First 3 will remain same after ages, I assume. But it is crypto, bull shit happens here every day.

Thanks for sharing your favorite cryptocurrencies with us, mate. The first 3 you've mentioned are the most promient cryptocurrencies on the market. They have a solid development team and supportive community which would make them last for many years to come.

Best of all, they have real world uses such as privacy, smart contracts, and speed making them one of the best altcoins you can invest into right now. Also, GAME is another altcoin which has a lot of potential for the long term, as it brings the blockchain to the games industry. With constant development and dedication from its team towards helping game companies adopt the blockchain, Gamecredits along with MobileGo could skyrocket in value within a couple of years from now.

Things aside, anything could happen in crypto land which gives us uncertainity whenever the mentioned cryptocurrencies will remain in their righful place on the markets, or they will be forgotten and eventually replaced by new coins. Just sharing my thoughts Grin

Nobody knows which ones will survive for fact, but it's easy to see which projects have the long term potential. It's all just speculating but at this point is quite clear that alts are here to stay. And they are becoming more and more like actual projects you can take somewhat seriously. I think it's safe to assume that top 10 caps will still exist 3 years from now
Yes . I think the top 10 coinmarket will definitely survive as it gets more attention and investment. Especially all whales are concentrated in this market a lot so be sure these altcoin can survive for a long time.

Not necessary need to be. Coinmarket list can be easily changed and this is not good point to look it can be just starting point to see coin name at least but to see what coin can be good or survive future. Any coin can be potentially good or can be sleeping giant waiting for his wake up call. This is crypto world anything is possible.
