I agree with you ETH has a bright future because it has a potential to grow this year and the price keeps going on. many people invest on ETH because a lot of things coming from it this is just the beginning of ETH maybe one day it will overtake bitcoin.

The survival of altcoins depend on few things first thing is if the coin have a solid development team and Coin have a proper development Plan for the future than coin is surely worth in the future there are many good coins I think will surely survive in the future some of them are Zcash, SC, NAV, LTC, DGB, BURST, ETC, ETH, XMR and some more are also there so good to invest in those coins which have good plans for the future.

Ethereum is an important coin right now since the people that are investing in it have a feeling that the price is going to go up soon. Once the price of Ethereum goes up then the people that invested in ETH will be able to do more things with Bitcoin because they would have more money to move around -that will let them be able to hire higher experienced developers that will help with the technical side of the coin.

There are some altcoins that deserve to be stored in the long run. Such as ltc and doge. Ltc how many days his move was very positive. And reached its current high point. Yes ltc is very potential to be stored in the long term.

Namecoin should go up in value since there is a bunch of newer coins that are using it to build its publicity. The name for Namecoin is plain and easy to remember so it’s not that uncomfortable to remember when compared to something like Ethereum, Nem & Maidsafe as an example.
Besides those 3 you mentioned, add monero and dash maybe they have good potential, also we could expect some newcomers to make some entry and make way for them to be recognized in crypto world.
On last statement i will add that every 25 crypto will come for long term most are short term with even cases with project abandoning.

Monero and Dash are good altcoins too. Given their level of privacy, they could rise in price and popularity within the upcoming years. I remember when both of these anonymous cryptocurrencies were worth nothing within $0.60 and $12 range. Now, they have rised in value exponentially and I think that they will continue to do so as long as Bitcoin continues to increase in price.
Nevertheless, while there are great cryptocurrencies worth buying and holding for the long term, it should only be a matter of time before they become widely supported by its users and community, or completely forgotten. Just sharing my thoughts.

ICO are trusted and are invested heavily due to their marketing strategies and product development. The team is made up of highly skilled people and they know what they are making out of them. Its bigger and better than other coins.
I would go in the opposite direction as you suggest. I would really not jumped in on a ICO and i would rather to wait a little more time if i saw that they would be succesful and does have a potential after the launch because on this time you will really see which one is a pump and dump coin and those which is not. You cantt be sure anytime that ICO would be profitable. You would surely say this thing if you experience to join on some ico.
Vertcoin for sure, been around since 2014. Recently activated SegWit and Lightning Network, will have atomic swap with Litecoin in a few months.

Everything will not be as easy at it predicts about altcoins .altcoins are made every day so it will be hard to tell which coin will survice.
The older coins are usually the ones that survive since the people that were in Bitcoin long ago like to feel all nostalgic when they see an Altcoin doing good a few years after they launched. Most people that were in the Altcoin game then was trying watching coins come and go though when the coins that stayed around long enough the price of that coin was kind of low. Ethereum did pretty good as well as Litecoin.
I think XRP will be a good choice for the future because the price of this currency could rise very high in the future. Currently the price of XRP coins are low and we should buy now to get a good return

Ive also added XRP in my lists that will sure has a future. Also XEM, and litecoin will for sure survive in the future. As you can notice its price is continously increasing. This may serves a long term trades and you can earn profit.

probably alts that have succesfull project or maybe who have innovative and great concept such a sia, lisk dll but i think older coins who have reputation such a litecoin and dogecoin might have a chance too besides ethereum of course , value also affect coins futures and of course market reputation who had big transaction each time
I think the altcoin that could survive would be those that has true userbase. In order words those altcoin or yet to create altcoins that could serves as a true decentralized p2p system. That can bring blockchain to the people. Coins like Litecoin could potentially stay for a very long time. coins like STATUS, does have potential as it combined messaging app with p2p payment. Dash also has a good user case. And Nimiq because it is the first brower based network, that combine the use of browser with ability to send and recent NIM. Despite all these, we do not know which technology may come to play in the future, no one say ethereum coming 4 years ago, yet now it is standing just next to bitcoin, who knows we might see a potential coin that could replace any of those. Ripple does have a chance as well even though it is highly centralized. The future of altcoin is still very uncertain, hence the key is to diversify one's portfolio

Altcoins creates support to Bitcoin different options is good for the totality of the market. We can see in the future altcoins earns extra abilities to Bitcoin in vice versa.
