Everything will not be as easy at it predicts about altcoins .altcoins are made every day so it will be hard to tell which coin will survice.
The question is what crypto give true utility. I'm betting on XtraBytes being a project that will stay strong even when crypto becomes unfashionable. Because it's the most secure and scalable blockchain there is and will be modular like ETH so other apps can be built upon it. At the very least it's storage that will be built upon it will be the most secure decentralized storage there is so imagine the applications especially for mobile technology in the future. Masses of fast cheap ultra secure storage, what Internet company won't want that?

Ethereum already proved that it's worth holding . Waves also proving it's having capability creat smart contracts and also nem is good for holding long time. Ripple is having lots of speculation for huge funding going to happen.
I see Ethereum surviving and maybe zcash or byteball
I will go for Dogecoin and litcoin. They really have the potential to survive in the future. ETH may be considered but there are a lot off pumping and dumping is happening with ETH so we can not say with surety.
It might be so. Both Dogecoin and Litecoin are old and well-established altcoins in the market, making them survive for many years to come. They have a recognized branding and community support, making it hard for them to stop trading in the markets anytime soon.
As for ETH, it has managed to rise over the years in development and popularity, making it the second largest cryptocurrency in market cap. Since it has many advanced features, and usability, it may survive in the future as well. On top of that, Ethereum has formed the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance, allowing it to evolve and retain its rightful place in the future.
While we may not know for sure if this will remain as is in the future, one thing is certain and that is every altcoin which has a foundation behind it, and a good development team will most likely succeed in the long term, making it survive for many years to come. Just my opinion.
Besides those 3 you mentioned, add monero and dash maybe they have good potential, also we could expect some newcomers to make some entry and make way for them to be recognized in crypto world.
On last statement i will add that every 25 crypto will come for long term most are short term with even cases with project abandoning.

The altcoin that might survive in the future in my opinion is XEM/NEM. Aside from it's project and development, the coin also can atest by it's marketcap and you can see the charts the progress it has made for the past few months.

Yes there are so many altcoins that will launch all the time and they also provide something different and great for the project, if seen in coinmarketcapt eth is the best among other altcoin and some altcoin which have their own platform like waves is altcoin which has a greater chance of survival I think eth,ltc,dash,waves are good future ahead.

Based on what it has been seen among the wide array of altcoins such as development, innovation, and security issues, what altcoins might survive in the future?
In my opinion, I think that the only ones prone to survive would be good old altcoins such as Litecoin and Dogecoin, but I may be wrong.
Nevertheless, I would like to know your opinion about this as well as any altcoin that might be worth holding onto for the long term.
So Ethereum is the first Altcoins that I thought about because Ethereum does have some disavantages but its potential to grow up in the future is high and also we can make investment in DASH, XRP, ETC too. In my opinion, I think that the only ones prone to survive would be good old altcoins such as Litecoin and Dogecoin, but I may be wrong.

But it doesn't mean xrp still go up in the future
May be ever altcoins will be on the list forever. They will be pumped when they will need to make some profit. For example, there is X coin which us standing at zero, then group of people will decide to buy it at zero, as soon as everybody will start putting money, the market value will rise and the coin become active again. After this people will sell it out, grab the profit and your X is dead again. Lol. May be they will keep doing this forever.
Real use case altcoins will survive the future, something that innovates upon something in the real world. We already have hundreds of alts that are currencies trying to compete with bitcoin but the token type alts that promise to innovate on the blockchain itself are the ones that will survive in the future.
