the coins they invest are different, because not everyone is interested in the same coin. they must have a reason why choosing the coin. for choosing which coins there will choose and which you will invest trust in yourself.
All alt coin will grow, especially in new alt coin, that will become a new generation of Cryptocurrency, But some old coin like ripple will grow soon because they have many cooperate program with most of the bank in the world

Yeah,definetly all altcoin will grow especially those new coin now,coming from ICO ,they are the most prospective coin now that having potential to grow in the market.
I think every Altcoins that have for the first implement in their own enviropment the security of the users, the safest and strong to being attacked to big whales in the crypto market is a probably opportunity to take in mind and be aware.
Due to the newcoming updates and forks on the Bitcoin the oldest crypto will be more and more stable, fast and secure than here, we only have to wait when the market will stabilize a few

Investing in cryptocurrency needs a lot of research and you need to be active on the project that you choose to invest. Of course, to update yourself on how this project progress each day.
For me, Ethereum, Monero, DeepOnion, and NEO is my top options on altcoins that will grow this 2018. Especially the DeepOnion project, lots of features to be added soon, and they already upgraded its anonymity to its finest.

My top coins for 2018 that will grow are : NEO , ETH , LTC , WABI & ONT
I have many different coins listed above. It's hard to prophet what will grow the most. I believe that something will go to the moon. It will be especially interesting to observe when bitcoin 'll loses its leading position.
I think we will see a market that is harder for ICOS and crap coins, which is a good thing.
Ones to watch that will grow:
NEO - big conference recently and expanding beyond China. Its the only crypto I think China will allow legally
OMG - moving slowly - good morals and beliefs behind this business. Development is slow to date
DeepOnion - airdrop nearly done - will then get listed on more exchanges. Mobile wallets coming along with continued integrations with latest security protocols
ETH - much better than BTC and still undervalued. So many platforms being built upon it. Bargain

DeepOnion, NAV, Spectrecoin, Monero, and Verge. I am quite interested in privacy coins since most of the coins have issues because of lack of anonymity when it comes to transactions. More people are discussing this over the Web, and I am sure that they are a good choice.

If you are looking for short term grow, you can analyze a roadmap and a conference calendar of those projects and buy few days before. Usually when a team is performing at a conference, price goes up for short term.

Neo is too expensive, the price of Stellar and Monero I think will increase in the middle of this year, but its just my opinion after all many thought XRG was it in December, then it was Tron, then people thought less

Ripples, Ethereum, Senderon, Rebellious and EOSG gold are some of the Altcoins I feel that have potentialities of growing fast this 2018 for outstanding opportunities.
Golem,stratis,ethereum,eos and cardano these are my top 5 existing coins i think it will grow more than it's current price but i think it will take a year for now.
Stratis, cardano and ethreum nice pick you have. I invest some cardano, and ethereum I always keep on observing in these coins. Yes price may grow this year and we can earned profit. 
Here are my picks for 2018, and the come in the problem they're solving:
- Blockchain Interoperability: AION [this will be huge as custom blockchains will eventually need to communicate with each other]
- Artificial Intelligence: CND [bringing AI to everyone and allowing transactional interactions for personal usage]
- Fintech: SALT [I'm surprised this hasn't popped already as SALT loans can (or will) be paid back in their token at over $20 a coin]
- Privacy: DeepOnion [Leveraging TOR 0.3.3, Obsf4, and Meek, will allow citizens trapped behind state firewalls and where cyrpto is banned to interact with DeepOnion]
I think that in 2018 the following coins could grow nicely:
NEO, PLU, DeepOnion, BTX, Zero, Byteball.
No idea if I will be right with all of them though.

Onion for sure. TRX has a long term growth. Ethereum and Neo
My favorites are: NEO, SHIELD, VTC, ONION, VEN.
I did a research for all of these and its development is just great, some of them also have lower market cap, so there's a space
for their growth and they are also privacy coins, which assures that they will grow even higher.
I wish I had more fiat to invest in them, that's all I can say.
