I think Altcoin in the future will develop rapidly as more and more are using Altcoin now.
In my opinion eth will continue to grow eventhough it’s already the greatest. Anyway..
Neo, Stratis, Edo, Posw will make good moves in the rest of this year. There too many coins and it’s hard to choose them but still that’s what i chose.

ETH is at a good price but still has massive growth potential as does LTC which people still can't decide whether they love or hate lol. Privacy coins seem to be gaining a fair amount of traction this year so wouldn't be surprised if Monero shows some gains, Dash regains its ATH and smaller coins such as DeepOnion start chasing the big boys. I would not be surprised if XRP, as much as the community dislikes it, seems some movement again as it is adopted by corporations.
Like others have said this is the year of the privacy coins! We are still yet to see a real breakout from privacy coins yet but im sure that its not far off! Look at the main ones like Monero and ZCash of course but also look at Cloak Coin and DeepOnion! In terms of non privacy coins i would reccommend looking at ones like UTrust or arcblocks when it hits the exchanges!
Bitdegree, Utrust, Bluzelle, NEO, Medicalchain, Polymath and Fusion will grow exponentially. Eidoo seems promising as well.
Since there are too many altcoins it’s hard to predict which one is better but still i always keep some ethereum in the wallet. And also Stratis, Neo, Edo, Universa. So it seems like i’ll be hodling these five for sure in the rest of this year. I’m very excited 
I'm splitting this up into to parts, as you suggest: Privacy coins and other coins.

In terms of privacy oriented coins I believe in a few:

- DeepOnion
- CloakCoin.

- Oyster Pearl

I own a few Golem. I have a good feeling it would go up this year. Same with LTC. Man it's pumping! But I'm placing my bet on DeepOnion. Solid tech, active devs, great community and a very successful Airdrop. Price is just below $5 and with a total supply of only 25 M, its very undervalued right now. I believe the price would soar when the airdrop ends and the weak hands are gone.
As the industry changes day from day. our views as to what coins will grow in long term seem to change.

Neo as it said often the second Ethereum. Now the price is stabilized and I think will grow steadily. Neo has high-qualified team of developers and some technical improvements that attract more and more users to it.

And I'll go with the one that is based on the most sophisticated protocol to guard your privacy, the TOR network. DeepOnion is indeed developed on its platform and it is the first of its kind.
If you want to make some investment this is the good time to buy them. You'll thank me in a month or so..

VEN and SYS have way toooo much to go at the moment. For VEN, I expect to see 20 $ in the near future.
My choices for most promising AltCoins are Ethereum (ETH), that enables smart contracts, and LiteCoin (LTC), that has faster generation rate and offers less risk than Bitcoin.. Also I think that Zkash and Dash are promising. Siacoin (SC) and Steem (STEEM) have potential. I think those coins can are potential to increase there value this year 2018.

I used to own Tron thinking it will go 10x... but instead lost and sold. In this bear market it's quite hard for altcoins, or all coins, to make you money
unless you are a very good trader... Personally, I would wait for the market to recover and then think about putting some money in altcoins again. NEO is a good one because it is a protocol coin and it has use in all the ICOs. Same goes for ETH. I would invest 50% of my crypto portfolio in them and then another 50% in ICOs. A lot of ICO coins dipped and can dip even further... when the market stabilizes, it could be a good opportunity to buy some of those. The trend is shifting towards serious projects so I will be watching for WePower, Medicalchain, Selfkey, etc.
neo, ven and elixir are my new favorites.
plus the coins listed on the idex these days are also interesting. after the deterioration of etherdelta, the idex had a great chance. we can see a big rise in aurora dao and idxm prices

Monero and Litecoin are approximately at the same level and it is not clear which of them will be the first to start a rapid rise. But these two coins give very great prospects for the future and I think that they will be on the leading positions in the future. many thought XRG was it in December, then it was Tron, then people thought less

For privacy coins my bet would be;Privacy and Alt Coins
1. Monero - this is a very quiet altcoin, a real privacy coin.
For altcoins;
2. ETH - we can't remove the fact that smart contracts are also growing and most of the projects / ICO's held now are through ERC20 token which can be generated from its ethereum system.
3. Litecoin - I'm still trusting this coin even though Charlie Lee sold most of his.
4. Digibyte - a very well low valued coin but it has an edge.
5. Vehicle Lifecycle Blockchain (VLB) - it's not yet listed on exchange as they are having their public sale until March. This has an edge, the development team and partners are really interesting.
I'm thinking about Matrix Ai Network Tokens (MAN) If their smart contracts and AI technology successfully launch this 2018 I think this will reach in the top 100 charts. The ICO of this coin has just ended several weeks but it already x2.
EOS, ADA, SC, GNT, RCN
I have liked NEO for a long time!
I really like NEO, the price of it should be the same as ETH in the near future (very much to believe in this) I have liked NEO for a long time!
The five alt coins that I will say, the future of the coin is much brighter, every day transactions are much more. Such as:

If you put these coins on hold, many profits will be available at the end of the year 2018.
Yes it will grow because some of altcoin have potential to be rise there value and possible some of them will remain to used of many people. And also i think some of them can be a better coin someday and can be like a ethereum and possible to become known and popular like the other altcoin right now. 1. Xrp

WTC for sure, can’t wait for the payoff from mining once mainnet is released. Also, COSS as its exchange will begin excepting fiat in March.
