I was simply griping in another string that you must have such huge numbers of wallets, each with its own key, secret phrase, record, each to be airgapped, each to never at any point be lost or that is it for eternity. It will be marvelous when cold stockpiling innovation finds a good pace. Put it on your stick and breathe a sigh of relief, one seed for everything on the off chance that you lose it. I don't for the most part utilize any of the altcoin programming wallets aside from sia, and I read about it first. This isn't to imply that it can't be undermined later on yet nothing's ideal.

I haven't seen anybody post about what would be my biggest worry if I were trying out alternative block chains. I realize this may be perceived as "Gavin is FUD'ding anything that isn't bitcoin!"  (FUD == Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt)  But I think some of you might be forgetting some basic computer security fundamentals in the excitement to be early adopters.

When I first heard about bitcoin, my questions were:

1) Can it possibly work (do the ideas for how it works make sense)?
2) Is it a scam?
3) If it is not a scam, could it open my computer up to viruses/trojans if I run it?

I answered those questions by:

1) Reading and understanding Satoshi's whitepaper.  Then thinking about it for a day or two and reading it again.
2) Finding out everything I could about the project.  I read every forum thread here (there were probably under a hundred threads back then) and read Satoshi's initial postings on the crypto mailing list.
3) Downloaded and skimmed the source code to see if it looked vulnerable to buffer overflow or other remotely exploitable attacks.

If I were going to experiment with an alternative block-chain, I'd go through the same process again. But I'm an old conservative fuddy-duddy.

If you want to take a risk on a brand-new alternative block-chain, I'd strongly suggest that you:

1) Run the software in a virtual machine or on a machine that doesn't contain anything valuable.
2) Don't invest more money or time than you can afford to lose.
3) Use a different passphrase at every exchange site.

Actually a great post we are currently building a new blockchain at xcvesting.io so its interesting to get a different perspective. In fact we'll be sure to take these points on board when encouraging new users great post.

Shows the importance of correctly implementing cryptographic protocols and for third party testing before launch

There was some wallet stealer something.exe that guaranteed unfathomably higher hash rates. This implies you just need to run the elective chain application.

well every since the form of ransomware attack emerged I usually check the suspicious files or programs by unknown vendors in virtual machine. You can use vmware or virtual box back in the day we have a program sandbox now this sandbox is part of windows 10 operating system which you can activate and test programs safely.

Blockchain Became apparent from the Bitcoin world & took a mini while to shake off the interrelation. These days it has developed far away crypto currency. In place of obtaining into the Bitcoin hype, many inventive thinkers are focusing at ways to utilize its underlying technology.

The research disclosed that for both macOS and windows, the miner works within steal applications, which are tie-up together with virtualization software

in addition, the attackers falsely exploit the reality that such system applications are generally complex and huge in order to cover up their virtual machine identity.

Whenever I hear about a new alternative cryptocurrency or blockchain, what usually comes to mind first of all is "how secure is my computer system gonna be if I key in"? Now, this is a valid fear, as far as I'm concerned because there's an exponential increase in cyber theft nowadays and one can't help but wonder if all these alternative blockchains springing up here and there don't have a hand in it.
Blockchain security must be acknowledged to have been made in such a way that it can truly guarantee user security. but we also protect the tools we use if we want to be more secure with adequate anti-virus. because security does not mean if we use the wrong technology, what is available today is that the blockchain is safe and our computer is adequate. but our behavior results in a system leak by opening a link that we do not recognize and rewarding the gift, from where the leak arose. so starting from ourselves to improve behavior to be safe.

In the field of cryptocurrency, everyone should keep in mind, thanks gavin for reminding.

You have quite rightly laid out the idea of an average reasonable person who keeps an eye on his capital and investments in various directions, especially in crypt currency!

The amount of risk associated with crypto currency will make it harder to grow in near future. There are lots of different blockchains other than BTC wich have great potential like ETH, neo etc.  Moreover, Number of exchanges get hacked like cryptopia make it fishy in eyes of lay man.The price volatility is another factor of its less adoption. But the most significant problem associated with crypto is the SCAMS .There are lots of people who are making money through real user's hard earned money. This will not only make people worried but the credibility of Crypto remain doubtful.

Just let it be and they will work all those who believe in it. BTC
According to our finding that the new blockchain technology aids and help people to hide their transaction history yet they can remind the integrity of transaction relationships.

And the antimatter is one way to help getting more of its attractions.
