Don't panic, there is something called investment protection - company promised to buy back coins that are taken directly from it, at the same price it was bought.

WOW, where do you see that?
I see where someone asks for it, but I don't see AmberDev agreeing.

No, that says purchases - these are dividends.

By paying in AMBER, currently trading at $0.015, with limited buy support even at that price,
AmberTrade has decided to settle with investors with a close shareholder vote.

Larger investors requested payouts in AMBER to shore-up their positions or risk losing a greater share of their initial investments.

In early Jan, 2016, some investors were initially given the option to settle for AMBER and BTC.
These lucky few reaped the benefits of favorable treatment from AmberTrade for reasons unknown to the rest of investors.
Some actually received emails solicitating a partial exchange of AMBER for dividend at the $0.05 rate.
Personally, I didn't get the email, but, sent a message on 01-12-2016 to AmberDev asking for my dividend to be exchanged to AMBER.
I did not receive a reply.

The price at that time was around $0.02 and seemed better than 0, I had no idea there would be a vote.

Even if you bought your shares from AmberTrade directly, how would you propose to re-coop your investment?

Has anyone been able to sell their shares back to AmberTrade?

Guys, does someone has a local copy of the shareholders list from beginning of October. I'm curious to compare it with the current one.

Lol, yeah... Good luck Sherlock https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1AHJUtCu5rY5r5lcePKoXNDO7TnnFXsAIi8WZaaOked0/htmlview

Lol, you are kidding me, I was asking for a list from October (Q3) Wink

Well q3 ended at the end of september. You asked for October 1 figures, they are there in the q4 documentation.

I did a quick brief on voting race/status:

4 big shareholders still need to vote.
Amber camp is leading at the moment.
If one of two biggest vote for amber, amber wins.
For btc camp to win, 3 shareholders must vote for btc.

Still good buy support on ccex.

EDIT:
new results just arrived...
3rd biggest just voted for amber.

Now at this situation all remaining three MUST vote for btc to secure victory for btc camp.

EDIT2:
4th biggest just voted for amber.

It seems that amber camp is victorious, but keep in mind that my quick math could be wrong.
Let's wait for official results.

Buy support isn't NEARLY deep enough to cover AMBER sales at $0.05 each.
This will be a blood-bath, or nothing will happen at all.

It would fuck me over as well, but quite honestly I'm hoping its a blood bath for the simple fact that it would hurt all those fucktard whales that voted for AMBER dividends worse then us "little guys" I don't care if I go down just as long as I take those assclowns with me.

And since the company SO OBVIOUSLY has been adhering to their proposed obligations already (thats sarcasm because they HAVE NOT) what makes you think that they would honor this "Investment Protection"?
I'm starting to think this whole thing is a fucking ponzi where the idiots that buy into the financing rounds directly from the company are whats pay-rolling the dividend payments NOT actual profits from legitimate business.

Fuck it I'm already in for 11k AMBER (that I got off the exchanges for 50% what the company was selling for) so might as well let it fucking ride, who knows I MIGHT be wrong, but everyday that bullshit like this occurs is one more day I regret ever getting into crypto.

The company could just pay the dividends in BTC/$ as promised and let anyone decide by itself to by more shares or not as usual by investing in a company. This here is a try to foolish us. It is few days ago I post it the first time, but again I'm not going to agree with foolish voting result.

Nobody is getting fooled here.
We all know the goal is to hedge your losses by voting AMBER, or, take profits and divest by sticking with the original agreed-upon dividend plan.

Voting is a clear tactic to reduce the dividend obligation. Larger holdings want to drag this out so they can vacate their positions, or, want to drive
the price down so they can double-down and get cheap AMBER.

Personally, I'm going to get back to 10k AMBER if voting goes that way.
Feel free to PM me if you have AMBER for sale after the voting:)

A good investor knows you HAVE to take profits, that's how investing works, and why BTC or USD dividends are so attractive
You can't just sit on your purchase and hope to cash-in at the end.

EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats why I don't understand all these pro-ambercoin dividend people. Especially since the current price and volume are abysmal the only way to give this coin the shot in the arm it needs is for the Dev to do what was originally promised and pay out nothing but BTC Dividends ON TIME. Once a clear and trustworthy track record of ON TIME BTC DIVIDENDS is set, EVERYONE will want to get in on Amber for the BTC dividends and that will push up the price and volume on the exchanges. This is how it looks to me at least.

I agree.

If the Q3 fiasco hadn't have happened, I would likely be a 20k AMBER investor now and have no misgivings.
Now, it's looks like I'm going to be stuck with 2400 AMBER that I won't be able to sell.
This forces me to more-than double-down, and hope the prices stabilizes and AmberDev/AmberTrade don't change anything else.

Uncertainty is bad, we've seen that. My only conclusion is that AmberDev/AmberTrade don't have enough skin in the game to care about uncertainty.
Dividends will not continue without direct sales from AmberTrade at unsustainable prices, that's the only source of dividends; you're a fool if you believe otherwise.
I've seen NO proof AmberTrade pays the dividends - none whatsoever. They are distributed solely from BTC collected from the sale of AMBER at unsustainable prices.

Theses are the things that need to happen, or this coin will fail:
1) ask/bid goes up drastically, at least to %50 of AmberTrade's ask price.
2) Dividends need to paid, as agreed ON THE BANNER AD, without voting or dispute.

I like how MOST (not all but most) of the Amber dividend voters that post on here are newbie accounts with about the same level of English proficiency as the Dev.

While it's not entirely broken, there's just enough mistakes to make it obvious English is not their first language. I'm not saying anything but sock puppet accounts are a well known occurrence on these forums.......

You are right I'm another one almost 2 years old newbie Smiley
And like other newbies here I has voted for amber.  Grin

Well Alpinist has been around since April of 2013... 22 months before amber coin started and 18 months before dev registered. So there's that wrinkle in these theories. Plus between you, me, and him... he's the only one who had visited a amber trade office and posted pics. His credibility is a tad above your opinion. Tangibility and whatnot. Maybe he is dev *new crazy theory* lol. I'm gonna enjoy 1¢ shares from someone, I can feel it.

Yeah, I don't give shit ONE about WHO posts a good or bad idea.
Personally, I prefer polite insightful ideas that promote the discourse.

The real issue here is not what language, nationality or account level - it's about content.
If you're a cheerleader, fine - but your opinions will be treated as such.
If you're a troll, ibid.

Please consider asking tough questions with insight and data.

I too, would love to see the coin drop to $.01 and then recover, keeping in mind there is no long-term prospect for this coin.
As an investment, this coin will not survive if the ask/bid prices don't stabilize.
