I think the number for beginners should not be too much or can say the value you are able to lose, like 0.01 btc I think is suitable for beginners in trading.

I started trading with 10$.I used it to learn how to trade and in the run I gained some knowledge regarding trading. I prefer 0.1 BTC is the  best amount to trade for short term.Day trading is risky.

0.1 btc is a very safe amount to trade with low risk,, but you have to be patient enough with only a small profit,., in addition, successful merchants are those who dare to take big risks,, this is almost the same as gambling. if the risks are in big responsibility,, of course, the profits that may be in may be great..

Beginning 0.1 BTC is just fine and if one is totally unaware, then much lower would be safe. But yes, keeping in mind about low profit. Big risk would obviously have greater chances of high profit, but loss making capability or mentality comes at this point. So the capital should be accordingly to ones risk taking capability and mentality.

Hey there!
I would like to ask you what you concider a good amount of bitcoins for daily short term speculations. How do you think what is the good number for beginers / advanced / experienced traders? Or maybe it if better not to short and just buy some of any good alts and wai for a pump (like some days or weeks)?

We use 7 BTC per day per floor trader. That is obviously a little more than you need, but not much. Consider this, a simply BTC/USD only scenario. If you buy 1 BTC at say, $4500 today and sell at $4600 tomorrow, that is only a $100 profit, spread over two days, minus around 10% total fees in and out, That is a massive total of $45 per day profit. Pretty sad for a trader, the BTC movements are nice, but to hit those changes you need to buy into the game.

That is way of a lot of capital. I cant go that far anymore but I would really love to if I have the funds.
It is easier to get a lot of profit when you also have a lot of money invested.
Yours is better and the transaction wont hurt if you do it massively.
Some of us just really dont have the resources but would love to trade big time.

i think  its best to start with small amount if you are just a beginner in trading...
then just add a little more if you think your beginning to trust your trade so you can avoid big lost
Experience is always needed no matter how much you have learnt as this will help you build confidence and this is why trading with a little amount for a start before going in big like you have said is a very brilliant idea. It is not wise to start with a huge capital anyway, thinking you have all it takes already, that is just like playing with the tip of a fire.

I started trading having .01 bitcoin then I used it in two assets which I think has the higher chance of success. They are right trading is not just by getting a lower value alts then expecting to be sell it at high price its a matter of good analysis and having enough resources to support your trade. Take what you can afford to lose then if that would succeed start researching for the next big option.

It depends on what you can afford and the level of you risk torelant. If bitcoin trading is what you want to invest in then I will advise you to start spending time to lean and develop your skills and knowledge first then invest in trading platforms like poloniex and bittrex that accepts few satoshi as investment and invest few coins that you can afford to lose.
If you are beginner and you don’t know much about trading, then it is better for you to invest as minimum as possible in the start. There are very much chances that you will lose your money by making some kind of mistakes, so invest only that much which you can easily afford to lose. If you have enough knowledge and experience, then you can go for more amount.

if you are really beginner in trading then I suggest that you do not use large capital, maybe 0.01 BTC enough. and for either long-term or short-term trading periods it all depends on you, but you should do what gives you the advantage.

You can start with 0.1BTC but don't buy only 1 Altcoin, try to buy 2-3 Altcoins to avoid waiting for the price to reach your target price because sometimes it takes a while before an Altcoin starts to move to the direction that you want. Long term trading is good if you have patience in waiting for your investment to grow, but for me I would rather buy an Altcoin, wait for it to reach my target then move on.

Start less, risk less and lose less.
Since it is just for a starting money then make a capital that you can afford to lose.
If it is just for knowledge purposes then take the minimum deposit only.
Change it whenever you feel you know the trend already.

Much better to short trade on alts, also it depends on how much are you willing to risk, as for me started at 0.01 btc for short trade. I have a target price of 0.11btc and when i reached that amount i withdraw then start at 0.01btc again. Not easy though you need to focus on what alts are you going to trade.
This kind of trading takes a whole lot of studying, dedication and so much idea about the altcoin market. It is of course very profitable if one can thread that part and can also be very risky as much as it is profitable. However, with a good level of short term trades knowledge, one can make more profit than losses.
You will have to wait and you should identify amount of that you have in the savings that you are okay with this. Most of the value goes the down stage 80% you will be able to have the normal life. After this you will be able to start the trading and be sure that you are aware of this about the trading and the risky about the rules of the trading and the investing.

I suggest you to choose the right amount for trading depend on your asset capital. If you're trying to hold for a long time, please spend around 30-40% of your capital to hold it for long term, you should spend at least 30% for long-term cause this is the way you can earn good profit . Short-term is the rest but i think you should go for surfing day to earn profit around 5~10% profit if you can.
Sometimes, these long term trading can seriously suck as you need to wait a longer period for profit. It is less stressful though but sometimes I just always wish the market could be faster most especially for some altcoins.

I have held a coin for up to 2 months and still counting and looking at the previous charts before buying I was so sure of my prediction of at least a pump every 2 weeks. Well, predictions cannot always be right and patience is all that matters.

My suggestion on what you need to invest is at 0.2BTC for short term trading so your earnings will be higher. Of course, at least 10% of the day is high for one day only. And if you can save it every day it's just quick to double your investment. But if you enter trading then you should know that almost everything you need to know so you will not go wrong if you ever buy it

No particular amount as long as you know how to trade. Even a little capital will do, the most important is the skills to earn with trading.

Yes, there is no fixed amount to start trading, but you can start with 0.10 and make a very good profit if you know how to manage it and how to take care of the risks, so better to invest a little, but make a huge effort to increase that amount.
I think that you can easily start trading with less than 0.15, and you can easily make 0.01 a day if you are good at it.

I trade with around 50% of my btc , i can afford to lose it.
Well its nice if you are willing to take the risks in trading, anyway you can earn good profit in btc trading. Price these days is soaring high so btc is a good choice to put your money. For me I also invest on what I can afford to risks in time earning is a better move.

Depends really on what type of trades and how much profit you want to gain, to gain some knowledge on how to trade i would suggest to trade with approx about 10% of bitcoin that you are holding, after you will gain some knowledge and you will get stable profit you can increase your investments up to 30-40%
