I believe there is not that less traders trades and volume as it was start of 2017.  Yes of course there is less then was in December.  Thing is that other exchanges increased they volume, traders and trades. And maybe because of that Poloniex looks like abandoned.   But in general yes there was lots of FUD and closing troolbox and need to verify accounts did not helped with get more volume.  Right now Users currently online: 4110. If I remember right max was like 20-30k.

I check this forum almost every day which one can see by looking at "Last Active" in profile (and posted 6 days ago), check IRC daily, respond to DMs on IRC, check reddit, respond to reddit DMs, check GitHub issues/PRs (some responded/merged recently), etc. So, no, not MIA two weeks or at all. I think we have tried emailing them before to no avail. I think Poloniex would be a decent choice.

If we can convince Poloniex to bring Aeon back to their list, that would be a big positive push for us. Don't they yet know that Aeon have had a code rebase a few months ago?

I reckon the reason for our delistment was thr 8gb of ram minimum requirement and the out of date, buggy code.

It's definitely not being worth listed on Yobit. What was the other exchange?


Maybe the main repository could move to another Git management site (BitBucket, GitLab), or something self hosted (Gitea, GitLab)

HitBTC requesting email correspondence ONLY from email listed on aeon.cash or from aeon.cash domain (can't do the domain deal). Waiting on a return email from HitBTC if listing personal emails on the official site would suffice. Would need to PR git for the website to add the emails. Yobit and another exchange are asking 1BTC to list Aeon pairs. I have not replied. Another exchange I contacted has had their "support" ticket inbox full for a week so I don't think listing there is appropriate at this time.

Smooth has been MIA 2 weeks. Unsure if he is on vacation or what is going on. We are inquiring to move GitHub to the Organizational account from Personal so that smaller tasks like this can be taken care of by people other than Smooth, who can focus on the core code of Aeon. Bringing to life the whole purpose of Aeon originally, to be a community-based project where members of the community commit and support the project in the ways that they can.

I believe bulletproofs will definitely be in the next release.  I think the sentiment of the majority is to have fixed ring size of 5 (I could be wrong here).  You cant have that at least for long time without bulletproofs if priority of AEON is to keep block chain slim.  Luckily AEON infrastructure is so small that you can have hardforks at any time and not scheduled for March and September as Monero. So this will wait until it will be ready. But I believe it will be like that. And with that AEON will finally jump in shoes of coins with most private ledger.

@bigslimvdub. No, with respect to americanpegasus, she is still Aeon's unoffical community leader. Everyone will follow her if she starts the crowdfund to pay for listing fees. smooth, also listens to her and it is the best chance for the community fund, under smooth's control, to make a contribution.

Katie is not the only person in the world who can contact exchanges and make things happen. Just because she did or may have in the past does not mean someone else can’t. The community thanks her for her work she did even if it wasn’t not with getting listed on an exchange.

I do believe there should be a liaison to exchanges that is professional.  

AEON is listed on very few exchanges, just 3 to the best of my knowledge. I would suggest to take into account a DEX, they will become more and more popular.

@eeX. What would be the best exchange for Aeon with an affordable listing fee and with someone you might know who we can maybe ask for a discount?

I reckon the community should shoulder the listing fee with the help of the Aeon community fund.@smooth has already expressed his willingness to assist if the proposal is good. Unfortunately americanpegasus/Katiecharms, the person who has the influence to do this successfully is busy somewhere else.

The fact is all exhanges ask listing fee now.

AEON case with Hitbtc was the last one and purely incidental - we was just lucky to find the guy who had influence to exchange owners.

Each contributor brings unique skills and losing any particular one is a tangible loss to the project.

In any case, did Katie or americanpegasus say that he or she will leave Aeon? No, I reckon. But her actions does make it appear that she will be using more of her time in working on Grin.

You can contact exchanges you know. Anyone can contact exchanges. The sad part is, a bunch of exchanges have incorrect or inactive contacts so even if you try to contact them, it will never get through. I've found that out myself.


@smooth, if you are reading this, Can you please remove KatieCharm as the "Community Leader" on the main initial post? She has obviously moved on from Aeon since June/July post rebase. Feel free to PM me if you want to chat about that.
