Haven't visited Aeon pools in a while, are the ASICS back since the hash rate spiked so much ??

I also noticed the volume is so low on Bittrex I'm afraid AEON could be delisted  Undecided
I'm going to buy some coins - as much as I have available funds, please do the same and support this great project and devs.
If Bittex announces the delisting - it will be too late then ...

Aeon won’t be delisted on bittrex.

Side note, Aeon is now officially included in Bisq 9.2 release today. https://github.com/bisq-network/bisq/releases/tag/v0.9.2

https://bisq.network/markets/?currency=aeon_btc

Props to camthegeek for his work porting aeon code over to bisq

bittrex is now a relatively small exchange, having fallen in activity as well as coinbase and poloniex from their regulatory preoccupations..many clients left.
there are other small exchanges that allow to buy and sell aeon.
furthermore soon AEON will be on BISQ ! 2019 begins well.

Bittrex same as Poloniex are not small exchanges. They just dont have fake volume.  Just look at Decembers report of I believe "Transparency institute".  There will be there next report soon that will be published everywhere and easy to find. It will tell you that both exchanges are high on the list of legit exchanges when wash trading is excluded.

@camthegeek. Yes the site is certainly something I was looking for. Thank you.

In any case, I did not know that there are so many cryptonight light coins! Also, Turtlecoin and Masari have more hashrate than us? I thought we were the king of cryptonight light hehehe.

It shows to me that only Turtlecoin uses cryptonight lite. Masari uses cryptonight fast. Unless they are so similar that you count them as same.

I would consider them, by a moderate extent, similar if the hardware to mine cryptonight fast can also be used to mine cryptonight light. That would give it the possibility that we are open to 51% attacks because of our low hashrate.

@coloseum. Monero would become a more secure cryptocoin with Asics than without them. I reckon Monero is valuable enough to have the other manufacturers interested in also making Asic miners for it besides Bitmain.
Thank you for your kindly clarification on the goodness for Monero with ASICs.

@coloseum. However, if another Asic manufacturer creates Asics for Monero and our new proof of work algorithm, would we need to change it again? Is this the downright, best longterm solution to the problem? I reckon, certainly no.
Time will change all things.
I got your point, but what next if Monero will stick with ASICs, especially sticking it forerver>?
All things change fastly in reality, and much fastly in crypto.

The most hash does not always mean the best coin.

However, it will always mean that it is more secure than the cryptocoin that has the lesser hashrate.

Also, it would always be better to be the more secure coin than to be the better coin.

Does anyone know a good website that ranks all cryptonote coins by hashrate? Chainradar does not have Aeon and some of the other cryptonote coins anymore.

@smooth. Thank you for the clarification.

Check https://miningpoolstats.stream/

It feels slow sometimes but it has all the stats you may be looking for.

I reckon the reorgs done last year which caused Cryptopia to delist us was an effort to double spend, however much harder to verify in cryptonote coins.

It wasn't, it was a bug. Once the bug was fixed and the nodes that got confused were unconfused, there was only one valid chain, no real reorg.

Forking bugs this this can happen in any literally any blockchain regardless of hash rate unless the code is bug free. In fact it did happen in Bitcoin, though it was caught relatively quickly.
