I'm on the fork, anyway to connect to some nodes that have the real chain without redownloading the whole thing?

Here my nodes, have 7 connections:

68.0.160.3:44312
113.206.250.143:44312
5.49.195.186:44312

I also staked and the blocks are showing on the block explorer just fine.

The only thing I noticed is that to get back in sync it took a while (was offline for about a month and a half) and sometimes the client would get stuck on a block. But by closing the client and restarting it will start syncing again. So not a big issue really. This is on Windows 8.1.

I also have a Mac if you need help testing the Mac client let me know.

why did we not just 100% clone cgb? this coin has not broken even once in nearly 1 year?  adding changes here and there could lead to some issues.

Let's fix this up, add the auto checkpointing and also find out why when it stakes it goes out of sync... the staking of such huge amounts of coins seems to cause issues.

When mine stakes it gets stuck out of sync.

if it was a 100% clone it would just be CGB still it takes the 1% changes to make the CGB code have ADT specks

most important is to stop the clients mining when not in sync , sort the sync issues and the forks  ( after that we can get to things like auto checkpoints but that would be changing more CGB code and could cause more issues )

ok i see, so yes mining out of sync is just crazy. Lets get that done first.

Once that is sorted out and we are back up and running will leaving some rigs mining for POW blocks help protect against this kind of attack?

That's what I thought thanks for confirming. I was approached by a few members/investors who are not really understanding the technical terms on here hence my message.

for most of us simple beings without understanding of the whole blockchain thing and coding etc can you advise whether this issues is of the scale of the previous problem or a much simpler glitch? Jut for piece of mind.

This is about a 3-4 on the scale of 1-10 and the chain swap was a 10 aslong as we can track down the bit of code causing the issue it will be a relatively simple issue to fix Smiley

I wasn't saying that this or that way could be used to attack Adt, just of some possibilities to look at. You could look into some implementation of x11 coins as security measures as well, automatic checkpoints.

I am looking at a huge amount of stuff once the chain is running well again I will be looking to get a lot of improvements done Smiley

I am about to get the main ADT blockchain moving again I am going to start with a new wallet and put 300kh on it so the blocks are slow and there is less chance of forking can you all make sure you on the same blockchain as the block explorer as the less nodes on the wrong chain will help minimise the amount of people downloading the wrong one

so what is happening?

1. was the entire work done by ahmed broken to start with and needs fixing?

2. was his work good but has been exploited?

3. was the cloning of cgb perfect? and cgb can be exploited.

If the work was not done properly then of course it needs to be fixed and free of charge, else the BTC needs to be returned. There is no other way to see it.

If it is not difficult to fix adt2 and add checkpointing and stop it being mined whilst out of sync.... we need to get on to it now.

5BTC is not cheap to clone a coin and it needs to have been done properly.

This effects the entire adt community and we need to know what is happening here?

some of the issues would have been there from the beginning but have not showed due to coins taking time before they can stake

every coin can be exploited in 1 way or another but as you can see with the time warp attacks they tried there are things to stop them getting to far

I am not sure about perfect  ahmed made it I then got mullick to have a look over it then some changes were made ( mullick only looked at the code changes not the whole code ) as far as I can tell it was a good clone other than the few bugs that have now shown up

This effects the entire adt community and we need to know what is happening here?

1) it was done by numerous people who all have experience making coins and i dont believe for a second that either of the 5+ people involved dont know what theyre doing
2) 1 factor causing the issue is the lack of checkpoints, another is the sync issue
3) every coin is exploitable you just need to know how. According to zack there are atleast 2 Time Warped chains which definitely does not help the cause.
4) I do not know why there is a syncing issue and that will need to be looked into. i looked into the logs and i see nothing so far. the fact that zack does not know of any mac/linux users who use the wallet and exprience the issue also does not help the cause. I'm not willing to do all the lifting here. I previously asked for the current block count and no one gave it to me

I posted a link to the block explorer and that is on the longest chain with the most connections so you had the latest block count

the most probable reason nobody has reported issues on Linux or mac is because very few people use it and even less of them are using it for mining

you are not doing all the heavy lifting I spent over 20h finding all the forks to make sure I found the best chain then after that I spent 6h watching coins stake / making forks and pow mining making forks

I found all the issues told you what they were and how to replicate them other than that there is only a limited amount I can do as I am not a coder
