Does anyone have CUDAMiner working with BetaRigs? I can't seem to get mine to work correctly. Using CUDAMiner, the miner doesn't seem to work with the http:// protocol. Any advice?

I released a patch last week to get rid of the "JSON inval data" and "JSON key 'xxx' not found" error messages in your log window while you're waiting for your rig to be rented. These were just patches to the source code which, of course, needed to be compiled to work.

By popular demand, I have compiled Windows versions of the "big 3" mining packages with the Betarigs fix intact and uploaded them into a single tidy package at https://app.box.com/s/gkgzbkpt0a7e97vj5ej9 - included are the following miners:
  • cgminer 3.7.2
  • cgminer 3.7.3 (kalroth)
  • sgminer 4.1.0

Each zip contains all of the files needed for a stand-alone installation, but you should be able to just copy the .exe out of your version of choice and leave everything else intact.

Feeling generous?

Great service!

BTW, you shouldn't claim payments are faster with Coinbase when they are actually much much longer to confirm.   Roll Eyes
If the rig owner only sees Rented - Waiting payment... without the Waiting 1 confirmation... that the renter sees, no wonder some are annoyed at alleged deadbeat renters!

Hi!
I'm looking for someone who can rentme 2 to 5 MHs (scrypt), but with another cgminer (an algo) than scrypt, keccak or nfactor. (will consume 1/3 to 1/2 less power!)
Miner : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=475795.0;all
I'm ready to rent for 1,2 or 3 days.

It of course can be done through betarig (for the security of both)

PM me for detail and/or proposal

incorrect...

you register an account, you click on rent... a second time that you are willing to pay... thats it...

That doesn't make any sense.  The FAQ says this:

Quote
When do I get paid?
24 hours after the end of the rental.

Your renter has paid the full amount to Betarigs before the rental began, and if the mining job was done correctly (basically your rig was online during the whole rental), the payment will be transfered to you 24 hours after the end of the rental period. This 24 hours delay is to give time to your customer to file a ticket if he wants to claim a refund.

Note: If your customer indeed submitted a ticket claiming your rig was offline, payment for this rental will be put in hold until the ticket is processed.

Edit: Oh, I see what is happening.  They are clicking "Rent" and then they have to actually forward the BTC to Betarigs.  During this time, your rig is "locked out" waiting on payment so if they fail to do so, you are stuck in limbo.

Again, I'm new, but I think the simplest solution to this problem is that you have to actually forward BTC to Betarigs BEFORE you are allowed to rent a rig.  So, if you have a zero account balance with Betarigs, you cannot rent.  This would take care of the problem of people attempting to rent rigs but not following through on payment.

An issue that has to be taken care of is the "renting and not paying" problem.

maybe a user who is not paying should get a 10% fine on his next rent....
or a 1 BTC deposit is necessary before renting....

I get several of those a day and I really don't like it...!

Wait, I assumed that payment had to be secured (and held by BetaRigs) BEFORE the client was allowed to rent a rig.  Is this not correct?

By lowering the price, you just devalue yourself, while you're not increasing the demand. In other words, if it weren't for newcomers who position themselves on price alone, more of us would be renting out our rigs. So your logic that you are making more at betarigs than somewhere else is a bit flawed, because you could be making even more here if you priced it higher.
yeah, price fixing on betarigs...

I dont understand all this grumbling about prices here - are you able to earn more using your rig then leasing it? Great, so you can earn much more by renting all these cheap rigs! What am I missing here? It's a damn free market!

The service needs quite a bit of work (I guess that's why it's still in beta). It's a neat idea though. The biggest issue I've found is that overall between the scammers and the idiots who can't run their own rigs I end up getting around 80% of the actual hashes I've paid for. I've been renting 200-300MH over the last day or so. Once you factor in how much MH you actually end up with though it's not worth it at all. Which is a shame, because for the honest 80% of rig operators this is a good service where everyone can win and profit.

Renting is really cheap at the moment but i think it is still profitable for leaser. I've just rented my small rig with 760kh/s for 7 days for 0.0084 BTC/day. Very cheap but this is still 0.25LTC per day. If i would mine at give-me-coins i would probably mine about 0.15-0.2LTC per day. Lousy profit since i've paid almost 900EUR for the rig and now you can rent it for so cheap but i dont have time to mine alts... any alternatives?

i think that renting is so cheap atm because mining is not so profitalbe for renter neather. Prices for alts are going down and more and more LTC script ASIC miners appearing so the difficulty is rising and GPU mining is less and less profitable, unfortunately  Sad

Most of new guys (new to Betarigs) are missing an important point: the current demand for scrypt miners sits at 1.6-18Gh/s for many days now. All renters that are paying today 0.008BTC/M/day were happily renting a few days ago at 0.012-0.015BTC/day.

Don't get me wrong, I'm seeing this kind of behaviour every day, but in real life you have the choice to either deal with a cheap amateur, or with a professional. Betarigs as a marketplace is unable to effectively provide that distinction.

Just for the reference, one of my rigs was rented for over 500 hours at the Betarigs - but not at current prices.

I agree, they were happily renting few days ago at 0.012-0.015BTC/day BUT the demand stayed the same while new leasers where coming and coming so it is logical that the price will go down. That's how the market works, i quess  Tongue

is betarigs advertising for cloud mining or just to us rig owners? I mean they are taking fees ;-)

I don't see them on other scrypt forums....

That is what I was discussing with Mux few weeks ago, there has to be a way to generate more demand. Any suggestion how to do this?

wow... I hope there are no americans here calling to "regulate" the market and price...... LOL

it is so funny, how all babies here start crying when prices go down... but they had no problems ripping of renters when there was only few rigs available...

I wish for higher prices as well, but you know how the game works... if somebody provides the same for cheap... everybody is only in for the money..

few renters actually care for quality.. they might even give you a negative rating if over several rents a rig fails (my... its technology and not flawless), instead of giving a good rating if the problem was resolved...
get my point?

its a price war.... and somebody with free electricity is winning it.

I hope there will be a time when the owerns or leasers (the users) can be rated... I hate thes "rented, but no payment received" rentals....

@MUX

how would monitoring API be arranged? (is it miner/win/lin comaptible?). Does that mean renters cannot complain about something that has not been? will payments be processed faster than?

how about the option of aggregating payents and getting them only once a week or on request, I hate these many small transactions...

I'm brand new and just registered my 20Mh/s farm last night. Someone rented it today at .0095 BTC/MH for a 12 hour period which seems fair.  I am not sure I could do better than that mining on my own with the prices of alt coins now.

But I'm not sure it is worth going any lower.  I'd rather point it toward a profit switcher and run it myself if I had to take less than that.

Pretty cool site, BTW.  I would like to ability to see what coin people are actually mining on my farm with.
