Hey, I've been trying to sync the VRC wallet and it's painfully slow. Is there a bootstrap of the blockchain somewhere to download and speed up the process?

I've tried to find it myself with no luck.

Thanks!

There should be one you can access from within the wallet. I think under File > Reload Blockchain (sorry not at my computer right now to see what it is exactly)

Are there any news being able to be shared on bitcointalk? I see there is something going on in reddit vrc/vrm but sadly still no new informations on bitcointalk. I still think most people use bitcointalk.org as information plattform.
Sadly livecoin exchange did vanish and so the last known VRM exchange is gone. Any news about which next exchange VRM will be added?

Getting added to AtomicDEX as we speak thanks to Mderasse and the Komodo team

Haha, nice scam - people spent ~12 doge coins to make VRM TOP 3 crypto currency on miningpoolstats.stream.  Grin

Thanks for that.
My issue, is that it was stated that you could do it, ie it already existed, and this coin is now 2 years old, plenty of time to fix it....

100% valid criticism, one I have voiced often as well.  All I can really say to that is the project has new devs involved, re-invigorating the project and pushing the long time devs toward achieving more of these promises made long ago.

The short answer: Not yet.

The long answer: The VRM and VRC wallets will eventually be combined, they just aren't yet.  The binary chain is also still under development, so you won't be able to gain VRC from mining VRM at this time.  When binary chain is released, that will work, just not yet.  ETA, not sure, but there is a large push to get there.

I mean, you can send VRM to a VRC address, but you won't be able to see those coins, since the wallets aren't currently designed to handle the other coin.  If you send VRC to a VRM wallet, you would have to take that VRM wallet.dat and open it in a VRC wallet to see the coins.

As for the promises made, they were definitely lofty goals still being worked on.  VRC or VRM isn't dead by any means though, with a VRM (Verium) 1.3.1 wallet just being released (Sept 16th, 2020 - which is a HUGE release) and paves a lot of the way forward to the combined wallet and the binary chain.

I mean, check out these release notes for 1.3.0 and 1.3.1:
https://github.com/VeriumReserve/verium/blob/master/doc/release-notes/release-notes-1.3.0.md
https://github.com/VeriumReserve/verium/blob/master/doc/release-notes/release-notes-1.3.1.md

Here you can find the release for the new Verium 1.3.1 wallet:
https://github.com/VeriumReserve/verium/releases

Here you can find a docker image for the Verium 1.3.1 wallet:
https://hub.docker.com/r/vericonomy/veriumd

Development is moving along quite well.  There are multiple active projects on the go to improve both the community experience, the infrastructure to support the project, and updating the codebase to achieve the lofty goals of the project.  Its the same project, but definitely with a renewed sense of passion and excitement.  A lot of the communication goes on the slack channel, but more effort is being made to disseminate this information to the various areas around the web, including this forum.  http://slack.vericoin.info if you want to join.

Thanks for that.

I was mining VRM a couple months ago and never really figured out how to get VRC or how to stake the coin.

It this already possible? Can I send VRM to a VRC wallet and will that in turn generate VRC?

Hi, i'd like to know the same please. I have tried sending VRM to VRC and it just gets lost, also tried importing priv keys and still to good.
I thought this was one of the main goals of the binary chain? Seems pointless if you cant change VRM into VRC

Looks like this coin has finally died.

1 months gone by and the Devs can't be bothered answering my simple, yet fundamental question.
No doubt, if they do read this, they'll simply say pop over to "discord"
Well, erm, no, thisis the make forum, so please come clean, and tell us why we can't send VRM to VRC as promised years ago.....

I really liked this project.
Too bad its just about gone....

How can we store and send on vericoin when the wallet is very slow very slow Undecided, it takes at least 5 years to sync not even the wallet update since 2018. What are you doing ? How do you want people to own vericoin if the wallet alone isn't working? even download multiple times turn on Tongue

I have a wallet version v1.7.2.0 and it does not sync!
WTF  Huh Huh Huh

VRC sync up for you?  Been trading this since Cryptsy and Mintpal days.  My tip, open "help-Console" > "Information" tab, when you see "current number of blocks" stall on a certain number close the wallet.  Wait till the VRC icon is off your taskbar, then reopen wallet and repeat.  It'll go alot faster than just leaving open to sync.  If I wait a few months to stake, I have to do this a few times to sync up quickly.  The VRM wallet I have yet to see this sync then stall issue and lately it can go a year or so before I open its wallet to sync up.

There is currently an issue on the bootstrap process of the Vericoin Wallet.
We are working on a new release that should arrive this summer.

Meanwhile you can :
  • Wait for it to sync up
  • Download the boostrap from http://cdn.vericonomy.com/bootstrap.zip and extract the content of the bootstrap directory into
    • Windows: %appdata%/Roaming/Vericoin
    • Linux: ~/.vericoin
    • Mac: ~/.vericoin

Try the File > Reload Blockchain method if you have syncing issues. I find this is the quickest way to get back in sync with the blockchain.
