For now, are there technical solutions for fighting with Replay Attacks?

Yes, they coded in two way replay protection. Seemed to pass muster with Slush since that was one of the conditions SatoshiLabs had before integrating BTG support for Trezor. Also, I haven't heard any complaints about people's transactions getting replayed.  However, with the way things have been going, who knows. Cheesy

What happened with the Windows installer?

I see the warning on the website.

Is the one currently displayed safe to use?

Was the website or GitHub hacked?

The link to the windows installer in the OP points to a download with the wrong checksum:

This is the link: http://1ink.cc/g9Ia beware.

The checksum returned is: 4e4249f68730a2f7a7210a730de21a79b646c8895622dda4e18d6a4b6f50d992

However the one currently on GitHub at https://github.com/BTCGPU/BTCGPU/releases/tag/0.15.0.1

Returns the correct one: 53e01dd7366e87fb920645b29541f8487f6f9eec233cbb43032c60c0398fc9fa

So should we assume the OP has also been hacked?

BEWARE GUYS, MAKE SURE TO DOUBLE CHECK WHAT YOU DOWNLOAD BEFORE YOU RUN ANY SOFTWARE!!!

I was really trying to start to root for this project. Are we even certain the OP is directly linked with the dev team? The posts seemed to indicate that he was. How many of these incidents is the community willing to bear.  Roll Eyes

I remember that they did not abuse their ability to execute a '51% attack'.

What's your point?

It's enough that they could have. Isn't it.

And what exactly is wrong with me bitching about centralization wherever it rears its ugly head?

::sigh:: nothing.

Though I believe you are confusing the position enjoyed by a superior competitor in the free market with centralization.

A 70% market share in SHA256 ASICS and also have an interest in pools contributing to almost 50% of the hash rate for BTC and 90% for BCH? Oh no, that's not centralized at all.  Roll Eyes I suppose by your definition, De Beers was only a "superior competitor" in the free market of diamonds, until recently.

Oh and as a side note: This DragonMint project does look promising. However, if it really appears as though it's going to cut in on Jihan Wu's turf, do you really think that Jihan is just going to sit idly by and let it happen? I'm sure Jihan will make every attempt to get his tentacles wrapped around that project.

check your biases. remember ghash.io? why are you so blind to this?

Yeah. I remember ghash.io. I remember that they fleetingly enjoyed a 50%+ mining market share on the Bitcoin blockchain. I remember that they did not abuse their ability to execute a '51% attack'. I also remember that they are now merely a minor player.

What's your point?

BTG is looking more good in the long run in comparison to BCH regardless of the value of these two. There is most of supply in their hands and that is cause of manipulation whereas in this market trading is being carried on. It has been very profitable in trading perspective for me too.

BTG is far better than BCH IMHO, there is also a huge chance to profit for brave men right now, this is the moment, at 0,04BTC price ratio, this coin just have one place to go: up.

Anybody here with balls of steel to do an all in for BTC/BTG trade?  Grin

how to verify if this wallet have replay protection? https://bitcoingold.org/downloads/

You don't need to verify the network has full replay protection any wallet compatible with BTG cannot create a transaction that can be replayed

I tried my btc addresses in the BTG explorer but the address came up as not there....do we have to add prefix or do a bit shift or something?

This is because Bitcoin Gold uses a different address format. The addresses look like GdGDP... and always start with capital g.

I am wondering if replay protection is already active? That was a big issue of BTG, right?

It doesn't always start with a G. Segwit/Muti sign addresses start with an A.

I think the issue was having to prove the premine because the circulating supply is exactly 100k short of total supply which was the premine total
