Hello,

I am new to crypto. I've been trying to find information on Bitshares but I am unable to find the original BTS bitcointalk thread.

Can someone explain to me what makes BitShares special? What is its value proposition?

Someone recommended me this coin and it has nice marketcap which I already saw and also increase for last few days is also good. What is this about actually can someone in simple words explain because I tried to download desktop wallet for windows and couldn't because of some API requirement. I found it bit difficult to handle while web wallet is friendly.

Can anyone speculate why the EOS token was made as an erc20 token? Why not make he token on BitShares?  Thought it was super easy to do so? Was it just a nice gesture before they push them off the cliff?

Hi There,

Invite everyone who wants to exchange their blocked-on-poloniex currencies to try my
OTC service where I act as a middleman. If you don't feel comfortable exchanging through me, we can use any other trustworthy party from trusted bitcointalk member who will take part in the entire process.

Everything is clear and simple! Special price on BTS!

PM me to get more details

I've downloaded latest windows client and try to connect - but I'm getting "sync error" all the time:

"Once you've synchronized your clock, please refresh this page...
If your clock is already correct, the API server you're using could be out of sync. In that case, please try a different server from the list below"

My clock is OK, so what should I do? Tried different servers without success... BTW I just want to access my existing wallet not to run the node etc, maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Hello Bitcointalk
June 17, 2017, 09:51:24 PM
For the Angelshares investors that are still having trouble claiming their bitshares, i hope this would help you:

If, however, you only have a wallet.dat file, you will need to
1. install BitShares 0.9.3
2. create an account in the BitShares 0.9.3 wallet
3. import the wallet.dat file into your account (Import your Bitcoin wallet.dat)
     https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7288nKEgxRJRXdNX0lmeTljQTg

4. Then Export your keys:
     Export via the console
navigate to the console: Account List -> Advanced Settings -> Console
type: wallet_export_keys [full path to the file]/[file name].json e.g. on Windows: wallet_export_keys C:\Users\[your user name]\Desktop\keys.json e.g. on Mac: wallet_export_keys /Users/[your user name]/Desktop/keys.json e.g. on Linux: wallet_export_keys /home/[your user name]/Desktop/keys.json
Please replace [your user name] with your Windows account name.
and hit Enter
     http://docs.bitshares.eu/_images/export-wallet-console.png

5. Now Proceed to Bitshares 2.0. Create a wallet account model.

6. Go to settings and Restore/Import: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7288nKEgxRJNVBhUzUyUTFETDg

7. Go to Wallet and Click Lookup Balance: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7288nKEgxRJU0ZETHZXc20xeTg

8. Create Backup (Make sure you add .BIN when saving the file): https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7288nKEgxRJTWpiOVRSb3NjeDg
     See the difference: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7288nKEgxRJMTVqd3V6NmRnREU

9.  You may need to make a new account or change your wallet profile, but the next step is to go to restore/import and import the BIN file.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7288nKEgxRJMkd4QUNVb05IODg

10 Repeat Step 7. you should be able to see your keys. Then Claim it.

Donate to luther-10 if you find this helpful. If you want me to make a video, someone should lend  me their unclaim private keys and i will make it into video to help everyone.

Hope this help. Good Luck!

To restore a wallet or a big project, I wish you good luck!!! Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue

I figured it was because I was holding some bitusd and I know that can mess with bitusd value.

Somewhat I mised this part but this is true, If you hold bitUSD and the bts price rises then you will see your total value of your bitUSD in bts terms to decline, on the other hand if the bts price goes down you will see an "increased value" of your bitUSD

I will need to keep a closer eye on whats going on. If I sell everything in my wallet that isn't BTS, then that number should always stay the same right? I did have 2 dash in there which could have messed with that number a little.

Sorry to put my personal question on here but this is about the decentralized exchange/wallet. The total value of my wallet was 33,000 BTS and that number included 360 LSK I had. I then sold the LSK for 9 bts/lsk which was very close to fair market value. Now the total wallet value is 30,000 BTS. What the heck! How did $1000 of value (3,000 BTS) just vanish? I don't see high fees or where that value went. This isnt the first time I've noticed these drops. I figured it was because I was holding some bitusd and I know that can mess with bitusd value. But Im not holding much of anything else. Anyone have ideas??? Or experienced similar?

I would't pay much attention to it, if any at all. It's just an estimation and usually it's wrong, liquidity is low in most markets and this imo contributes to the "wrong estimates"

Maybe your new total wallet value had nothing to do with Lisk, some other swing in price of another asset you hold might be the cause. In any any case I would not rely on this evaluation.
