bah i really want in! haha

how do you get an invite to it? :/

Closed beta has just ended, they are reconfiguring the servers ready for open beta in a few hours, details of which will be announced in the OP and Twitter.

To best connect your cgminer to the pool, they're suggesting adding the following settings to increase mining efficiency & profitability:
[03:29] <@adarkvox> try setting your que to 0, scan time to 1, and expiry to 1

Copied from the BlackCoinPool IRC chat (sorry for the wall of text), beta's progressing well, although mining profitability is currently low compared to other multipools, or standard mining of Alts and using them to purchase BC directly:

[02:51] weird... I mined consistently with ~1.8Mh/s and I got 21... something strange
[02:52] i got 25 from 3mh/s
[02:52] woot got my payment of 14BC! for just about 2 hours of mining Tongue
[02:52] been mining all day and all night
[02:52] Sad
[02:52] the price is expensive so we get little
[02:52] well, then maybe mine does make sense...
[02:52] Huh I've been mining since 7 pm yesterday and only get 2.8 BC
[02:53] when i multipool i get .0025 a day
[02:53] !price bc 21
[02:53] i make more by just buying my own bc XD
[02:53] so the payouts aren't at expected levels?
[02:53] hard to decipher reading chat
[02:53] <@Soepkip> for me they are
[02:54] good for me
[02:54] what was your payout / MH if you dont mind?
[02:54] Malicee: how much hash
[02:54] WOOHOO... .01646108 BC
[02:54] 560ish hashes
[02:54] <+|00Smurf> 6 m/h 265 bc. works for me with currewnt price level
[02:54] yeah! 0.36455303! BC!
[02:54] Whoohoo! 0.004 BC! I'm rich, rich I tell ya!
[02:54] 0.006  xD
[02:54] 2.6k 24hr 15-20Mh Smiley
[02:54] im at about 300kh/s for 2 hours.  received higher than yesterday
[02:55] course, that is only about 6 hours @ 1.3MH/s
[02:55] wow |00Smurf you've got 4 times the hash I have but you got 13X as much BC Sad
[02:55] 0.0059 12hours 0.3mh
[02:55] 11.00
[02:56] i got 25 bc from 24 hours of 3mh/s
[02:56] i recieved 0.0159345 BC after around 14 hours mining.. lol is that for real?
[02:56] which is only like 0.0015 btc worth of blackcoin
[02:57] yeah its just odd when some people with 6mh/s get 250 but me with 3mh/s get 25 and i was mining the whole time
[02:58] <@adarkvox> it is 1.2MH/S at the peak
[02:58] 6 mh/s only gets 250 after 24 hours???
[02:59] adarkvox I'm in the same boat as goblynn  ~2Mh/s average displayed, ~1% rejects - payout 21.32BC
[02:59] <@adarkvox> 31 hours of mining exactly
[02:59] thats like 0.0004 btc/mh/day
[02:59] wafflepool gets .005 BTC/mHash/day
[03:00] 27bc from ~2Mh/s here

Smiley Thank you so so much. This whole world of coins is beyond confusing and while super straightforward, I would've never gotten it by trying to back read haha. Have been learning a lot and really appreciate the help!! Smiley

I'm curious as I'm new to pretty much all of this: the OP says that it's not limited to the number of coins available. But I was reading this thread periodically today and I thought someone was saying it is in fact limited and there isn't anymore mining, so what is out now currently in the market is it (so like someone selling is only selling from their stash, not from newly mined coins)?

Also can someone help explain what the multipool is? What does that mean in terms of this coin? I've been watching it for the past week or so but am just so new that it's hard to grasp.

All the coins have been mined, The multipool mines other coins sells them for btc and buys bc with that btc.

This is a very good summary of the previous 400 pages of this thread Smiley

What is causing the consistent rise?

the power of a deflationary currency. only supply that is out there is already held. Add a few gh of miners dumping btc into BC every day and you have constant buying pressure. target within 7 days is 15k

My initial calculations were 12k in a month, but I think you may be right

I'm in the top 100 though so I can't say I'll be disappointed if I'm wrong and your right

how do you work out where you are

When does the Multipool actually start buying?

They buy throughout the day and if the trend follows like yesterday, all payouts will be done by midnight. Although I have heard that they will be testing out the payout script. Not sure how accurate that is though.

First mover advantage is huge. You think a newly released vertcoin clone is going to go up to vertcoin's market cap?

It doesn't work like that.

In the same way Mintcoin is trying to copy the blackcoin multipool concept but it's generated nowhere near the same level of hype. And Blackcoin also has a very active developer. He's not a cut and run developer out to make a quick buck.

are you saying BC is a clone of vertcoin? lol Roll Eyes

No he is talking about Execoin and all those scrypt-N coins that now want to have a piece of the vertcoin cake. And there we clearly see the first mover advantage we have here too.

I am also doubtful about the progressive interest rate they use, seems that they have a fair initial distribution like BC but in the first year the early adopters create 25% more coins out of nothing. Thats not really fair.
