okay folks. So now that we've smoothed out the bumps, we're ready for round 2, and we're open to suggestions as to how to use our platform to promote BlackCoin. Afaik we're at this point the largest merchant other than an exchange doing business in the space.

We chose BlackCoin for a reason, which I think is pretty obvious to everyone here. But the coin does need wider exposure. That's where I think we can help.

We would be happy to set something up like a BlackCoin-only deposit bonus, or a BlackCoin poker tournament where coins get mixed and people get to know each other. Tell us what you want, and we will be happy to make the casino a social space for the fledgling community -- as well as give something back.

One thing we've considered is a discount for our existing Bitcoin users who decide to withdraw in BlackCoin -- effectively an added incentive. But there are a lot of things that can be done.

Everyone should feel free to PM me with thoughts and we wil announce something later in the week once we've sorted through the possibilities. We like this coin a lot and we're proud to be representing it!

Agree with a poker tournament, maybe some bonus on black jack would be nice also!! Great to see you supporting this coin Smiley

What about some free blackcoins as introduction for people depositing bitcoin?

I think a poker tournament will be great.

If anyone is interested in throwing a small amount of hash at something, this is my BC paying P2Pool project I am working on: http://cryptoalts.com/index.php

It's not profit switching as that's just over my head given the time I have to work on this (once it's working 100% automated I may look into profit switching), but my goal is to get a few of these nodes setup in different geographical locations (NA west, NA east, EU, Australia, etc) as failovers to the larger pools to help support the "BC mining" network. Grin

The first test went well. The second one had some stuff added that turned out buggy and needed fixing. The third test is running now, and hopefully the bugs from test number two are sorted. Miners are getting paid their share in BC.

just gone in, Im in uk so im getting a few rejects but Im not too bothered right now, Im sure when more nodes go up my mining will improve.

Blackcoin has highest market cap of any bitcoin based coin which is pure proof of stake. This is a big strength too.

I expect over the coming year the media to bring more and more attention to how much money is wasted mining bitcoin everyday (>$15 million of electricity).

Blackcoin is in a great position and is very undervalued at present. We should be over 10 million market cap easy. That's 7 times higher price. When you factor in we're not going to have proof of work mined coins being constantly dumped on the market every day, the sky is the limit for this coin imo providing we market it correctly and no technical glitches occur with pure proof of stake.

Coins which don't have new coins being dumped on the market tend to go high up in the market cap ranks once they are established (ripple, nxt, mastercoin etc)

Agreed overall, however the three examples you mention had the advantage of massive premine/VC investment (in the case of Ripple 100% 'premine'). It will therefore be even more noteworthy to see how Blackcoin evolves, which I expect it to, into a top 5 coin.

keep in mind people, once the pool (or pools) go public, the price will skyrocket again.

4k right now maybe be considered high for those that currently want to buy in....but it's a bargain @ right now....dont wait until the pool is in operation. As BC's history shows, these low prices may show up once or twice and they will be gone for good.... so get them while you still have $$$ available.....

Agree pools will make a big difference.. anyways I'm in.

BC @ 6000 by the end of this weekend...

5k is sound realistic...

might stretch to 6k or higher, but the floor needs to be tested a few times before even 4 k becomes permanent

I know some people here have their own reasons for saying the things they do. Mainly to sell of their own coins at a higher price. I've been considering purchasing some not at the pumped level but what is the real value in these coins. Also if the coin was only mined for a week wouldn't some people have a huge supply that can be sold quickly killing price?

I suspect a very large percentage of the original miner-dumpers unoaded a long time ago, on the way down from 2000's to 500 and below, and that what we have seen has been a cycle of distribution/buy-backs, with periodic sell-offs by purely speculative players. Orderbook behaivior suggests increasing number of average-wallet investors losing any interest in selling. Look at the maarx wallet list for further interesting insights.

Couldn't wallets be broken up. like taking large amount of coins and putting them in multiple wallets?

This is no doubt the case, and I have pointed out the same in previous posts. It would be a challenge to determine the extent of that, though. At very least, most people who mined would have mined into one address and bought into another. Surely some others have deliberately broken up their stash in other ways as well. Nonetheless, it is evident that there's an increasingly vast number of smaller players coming in to stake their claim to a bit of Blackcoin real estate. I think a few fat whales got eaten by the 10,000 piranas.

Hard to tell the real value. IMO, it's a real bargain atm, even if it doesn't look that way now. Have a look next week; you'll find yourself asking the same question when the coin is 6-7k sat Cheesy

'maarx' in this forum made a list with all big wallets. It shows mainly that these wallets are keeping their coins. Some of these big wallets owners even use their deep pockets to help build name for this coin ie. bounties etc. One can only admire this and i want to say thanks for all the hard work and generousity to them. This also shows the level of confidence of the big wallets in this coin Smiley

I would say 4000 is a fair price right now, but doesn't matter too much really any price bc has now, it will worth more tomorrow for sure Smiley.

Cheers!
