Errgh, I don't really like how large of a gap that is... how about this:

8 hours : 1% current
1 day : 1.1%
1 week : 1.2%
1 month : 3%
6 months : 3.5%
1 year : 6.5%

That way you aren't seeing huge dumps from people with big wallets every year.

The most fair way to do it, imo, would be to have varied interest that only increases the longer you hold, and resets if you move any coin:

8 hours : 1% current
1 day : 2%
1 week : 3%
1 month : 5%
6 months : 10%
1 year : 20%

This way nobody is given is a free raise, and in the long run, the average stakeholder interest rate would probably work out to ~2-3% so inflation rate would still be very low. This would be the best of both worlds : incentive to hold without an overall ludicrous inflation rate. But I'm fine the the 1%. Just noting that if it gets changed, it really should not get changed to some flat rate 10%+ out of the blue because that will destroy BC's image.

No offense meant, and I wasn't singling you out. Don't think I even saw your post. Just trying to help set the matter straight. On a macro level, if you look at what is happening in the altcoin ecosphere as a whole, with new coins popping up right and left, you realize that it's getting more and more out of wack. There's just not enough bitcoin coming in to absorb this flood, so things are increasingly worth less, and mining is turning to a insta-rape/dump game. People dump when they have no faith or reason to believe their coin may actually be worth something, hopefully more (or least the same) tomorrow as it is today. Let's hope BC stands out as a stable, smart coin and can garner acceptance in the real world. I think it can.

Do people not understand how raising PoS % would COMPLETELY DISCREDIT Blackcoin? If a coin can at any moment have it's features manipulated in this way there is significant damage to it as an asset, and its reputation as reliable currency. It is equivalent to share-dilution of a company's stock. If you want 60 million coins, go mine some shitcoin with a block reward of 1mil and diff of 2 and enjoy your worthless play-money.

I bought too high because i was sleeping during the first big down so my avg buy might be around 2500, and i'm not worried because of the 1% interest, i'd be worried if it goes more than 5%, but would not be against raising it to 3-5 first year to increase incentive for early buyers to keep their coins.

+POW 5*0,5*60*24*10=36000 HBN 10 days

In beginning it looks perfect low amount of starting HBN money needed low amounts of BTC to maintain price.
All were happy and get big +income in thirsts months.
Today they need 16.4 BTC to keep price
Next year same time about ~37BTC...
2nd year ~80 BTC
Gues what will happened when they don't get those BTC ? same what with Doge,LTC,... ramp down.
Which market can eat 100%+ inflation EVERY YEAR.
