I have a theory about the price / dumping. The QEX operator is dumping all the coins they took when they closed. Either that or whoever pumped it last is dumping at satoshi worth of price to make people want to sell lower before round two of pumping.

I think you might be right about that! I forgot all about QEX!!! Great time to buy if they want to dump!
Where are they selling?

Just registered like twenty minutes ago! haha

EDIT:
sgminer 5.0 still loads into 4.2.2 when i run it. Im using a radeon 5850.

I tried with and without "--difficulty-multiplier 256". I apparently still need it when using 5.0 otherwise it shows an outrageous hashrate for me.

I will look and see if I can find a resolution for this issue...thanks for the update!

QUESTION: What can we do to get more support for BTQ?? I really would like to get some of the Quarkcoin people on board.

Also let me mention that if you mine on the official BTQ pool @ http://pool.bitquark.info you will receive a 2% bonus on your mining and of course 0% mining fee!!!! Smiley

Anyone reading up on using the bitcoin blockchain as Proof of Existence?

http://www.computerworld.com/article/2498077/desktop-apps/could-the-bitcoin-network-be-used-as-an-ultrasecure-notary-service-.html

Just trying to think of new ways to use bitquark too since I have 0 bitcoins and a few hundred bitquarks (about $0.50 worth so far!)

I have a great idea for the blockchain size problem, but it's beyond my skill level. If I can find another dev to come on board that knows more about C++ and the blockchain functionality, then the future blockchain issue will be solved forever. I'm not going to say right out what my idea is, but it will shrink the blockchain size down to approx. 20% of the current size!!! It would be smaller than it's current size and remain with in 10% - 15% of that size for forever! Wink

Mr.B!, what's your BTQ address??

That's pretty cool. One thing I noticed about skins is the selection is not sticky between sessions. That would be nice.

Also a question. Does the precompiled wallet need to have all the same dependencies installed on the computer simply to run as is needed to compile the same wallet from source code?

Are you referring to the Linux build? If so, I don't think it should because they are statically built...but I maybe wrong on that as far as Linux is concerned...still in the newbie phase Cheesy
Well OF COURSE I'm referring to the Linux build! What else is there? LOL!

I think it would be worthwhile for us to create some disposable virtual machines for testing and compiling, at the very least the current LTS versions of Xubuntu (12.04 and 14.04), perhaps even Debian, OpenBSD, CentOS, etc. Since Ubuntu 13.04 and 13.10 are no longer supported we can safely omit these.

Haha remember I'm a Windows Generation Kid lol....I took a class on Linux a few years back in college, so I'm still learning Wink

I will build a VM and install a fresh copy of 14.04 and see if I need the deps pre-installed or not and report back to you guys Smiley

Until next release, if you want to change the "Network Hashrate" you can edit the src/qt/overviewpage.cpp line 162 with the following code:

Code:
ui->labelHashrate->setText(QString("%1 MH/s").arg(GetNetworkHashPS(1440, -1)/1000000));

I don't know how easy it would be, but add division options or formatting for the coin supply and hash rate.

   - Coins minted:  1343190.50 BTQ
   - Coins minted:  1,343,190.50 BTQ

   - Network hashrate:  91010874 hps
   - Network hashrate:  9.10 Ghs

User upload skins (so I can put a picture of my ex-wife in my wallet background, since all my coin profits go to her anyway).

These are purely cosmetic and not necessary, but would really make BitQuark stand out even more.

Also, got a message from fairglu about adding BTQ to the https://chainz.cryptoid.info/ block explorer.  It's now 0.3 BTC per year (209,254.12 BTQ per year at the last rate I checked on c-cex.com or about $145 USD) to be included.

I'd help contribute to a fund if the rest of the BTQ community is willing.

Sounds good to me, I'm in! I'm sure we can all band together and come up with 0.3 BTC.

If you build the client from source, you can customize the skins by go to this folder and inserting your own bg1.png, bg2.png, bg3.png...etc.

Just make sure to make the bg image the same dimensions as the original background images. I will also work on the number formatting as well.

You've probably noticed I disabled the live stats on the dashboard page of the pool. The reason I done this is because some of the stats were off and I had to disable it so that I could fix the stats. So now the stats are correct Smiley
