true, but there are still people who are going to want to use the fiat route, as for btq I supposed not linking it to fiat would be best, such as linking it to only cryptocurrencies on the exchanges, then again some people will still convert back to fiat, due to the volatility, but once cryptos volatility starts to die down its use will begin to be widely accepted
Ok so I want to do something different with BTQ's economics. Crypto currencies are suppose to be an alternative to fiat, correct??? So why are people still linking crypto's to fiat??? I want BTQ to sever this link. I say screw the exchanges, they will eventually catchup with BTQ. I say we, the BTQ community, set a price for BTQ based on supply, demand, and utility. For a currency to succeed, we need to have faith in that currency! So we need to start the revolution of decentralizing crypto's from fiat!!! What I mean by this is if you have an item you want to trade for BTQ, like for example you have a camera and you think it is worth 250 BTQ then sell it for that amount. The market will eventually catchup and make its correction to the true value of a currency.

Ultimately you are correct. If crypto is ever to gain widespread public acceptance in the marketplace, we will need an Android wallet. I just don't think that is a top priority at the moment.As far as coin control goes, after skimming through that thread it looks like (after much infighting, name calling and throwing rotten tomatoes at each other) bitcoin devs rolled it into 0.9. I will download and play with it tonight after work.

The retargeting time is about every 10 mins (20 blocks * 30 secs), so the difficulty retargets fairly quick after these guys jump in and out of the pools. Even when the difficulty was at 1k - 2k, mining BTQ was still going pretty smooth. It's not unusual for 'quark' algo coins to have high difficulties as they recover quickly. BTQ has been at a steady block rate of 110 - 120 blocks mined every hour since we launched. I will look into different types of retargeting schemes and see which would be more appropriate for BTQ.
On another note, what do you guys know about Moolah.io / Prelude.io
I've been talking to them about adding BTQ to their site. It seems that Moolah.io is a type of payment gateway for merchants to accept BTQ as payments and Prelude.io, which is a sub-company of Moolah, is a site that you can trade BTQ for other coins and you can also trade BTQ/USD or USD/BTQ. So what do you guys think about adding BTQ to this site??? We would definitely need to increase volume and get site to accept BTQ as payment for service/goods!!!

This is precisely what I mean my wallet defragging! We need coin control features for sending. Especially for us p2pool miners..
As for the p2pool non-fee transactions, the pool operator has the option to setup a whether not to add a transaction fee...I know this is true for MPOS and I'm about 75% sure this is the same for P2Pool. So if the P2Pool operator allows the shares to have a transaction fee, this would eliminate the small transaction issues. I will look into this issue more and see what kind of solution I can come up with though!

Hmm, interesting topic...I just downloaded the source code and I will look over it and see what it takes to add this feature into the BTQ Wallet!!!
We need coin control features for sending. Especially for us p2pool miners..
As for the p2pool non-fee transactions, the pool operator has the option to setup a whether not to add a transaction fee...I know this is true for MPOS and I'm about 75% sure this is the same for P2Pool. So if the P2Pool operator allows the shares to have a transaction fee, this would eliminate the small transaction issues. I will look into this issue more and see what kind of solution I can come up with though!

Big problem is the rabbit miner,
They just jump in when lower diff, and increase Diff
And than jump out, and the consistent miner is mining at unreasonable high diff and reduce diff after the retarget time. And than, the rabbit miner jump in again.
This kind of situataion is keep repeating.
Even couple of months ago, the hash rate (moving in/out) is just 50Mhs, now, it has much higher than 100M
I think, a multi pools has devleopt ror quark algo.
Practically, It makes lower efficiency for the consistent miner.
I wish this coin has better block retarget to resist that kind of sneaky miners.

ye for the p2p pool if there was a way to set the payout manually instead of automatic, this would solve the dust problem, but I cant seem to find a way to contact then p2p site admin or w/e

A wallet defrag function in the debug console would be most excellent!
As convenient as a wallet might be on your smart phone, I think it's a mistake. I am very leery of Android from the point of security, mainly because of who develops it and what other apps do to compromise it. IMHO it would be a horror story just waiting to happen.

I agree with you 100%!!! I don't use any Wallets on my phone. The security just isn't there and it's nothing for a cell phone to be hacked via bluetooth, web, etc and not to mention if you lose your phone!
