Something I don't understand. This domain name
Code:
ChipMixer com
is redirecting me directly to chipmixer.com. The domain is just 2 months old, either the owner is doing a redirection for SEO, awaiting to then host a clone on it, or idk.

Yeah it's directing to the same site, either ChipMixer own this or I don't know what's going on... Seems strange to wait on it, I don't bookmark pages until I get to a loaded site.

Namesilo won't allow me to register a unicode domain Sad.

I'd say what emoji I wanted to register but that would destroy my plan to monopolise emojis own a website.

i just realized today that i have never posted in this thread before. shame on me Lips sealed
as a user who is allowed to wear the signature and has already had experience with the chipmixer service, i can only express my greatest respect for both.
it really works both wonderfully and can stay that way for a long time ever! the approach with the chips is really good and it is always a pleasure to mix some BTC on chipmixer.com Smiley

I think this will all depend on the inflow to ChipMixer as to whether its viable.

If they have thousands of users a week then it might make sense to allow both. Otherwise privacy may reduce if its only one or two people who withdraw their chips as native addresses rather than legacy.

Are you guys still working in upgrading to SegWit? I found this thread of yours from August but I see that the addresses generated are still non-SegWit ones.
There are three misunderstandings in this post.
1. The other thread is about using Segwit features to increase privacy - for example Lightning Network. It would be separate service, not part of ChipMixer.
2. We are using Segwit transactions to create chips - they are cheaper to spend.
3. Bech32 addresses (for example bc1qw508d6qejxtdg4y5r3zarvary0c5xw7kv8f3t4) are called Segwit addresses but they are not required to use Segwit. They are not very popular, cannot be used by old clients and some customers fear the new. We are not implementing them till they gain more popularity.

Any chance that bech32 addresses will happen on chipmixer?

I'm surprised they're even allowed as domain characters, surely someone would've thought that's a problem...?

Punycode attacks
The actual domain is: xn--chpmixer-31a.com

Anyhow, tried my luck, I've sent an email to namecheap about them, let's see if they care about it..

That's scary!

Yeah it's kinda something I'd have expected Web browsers to fix.

Wow that's good for namesilo's image, how long did it take them to get back to you?

It took them like 3 to 4 days. In matter of hours they reply to my initial email, giving me another link where I can give them a more detailed report.

And then it took them that many days before they took the site offline. Perhaps they have some internal process to follow like verifications of the real chipmixer site against the fake one which they unfortunately manage.

For both sides, it better to go off the innocent until proven guilty and it's probably better for them to do a bit of investigation first.

As well as they'd probably have to get a supervisor or manager to look over everything so 3 days is pretty fast in order to reduce people with control of the dns server to suspend an account.

It's advisable just to not clock links and remember the official site is ChipMixer.com I think it's hard to get that I on android with the tail but it might be harder to avoid on apple depending on how they do it.

Those are particularly vicious, if you don't check the certificate you can easily become a victim, especially if you don't see correctly, you may think there is dust on your screen

There is a fake Chipmixer website trying to scam if you are not very careful when you type the address. I think the real ChipMixer should be aware of this issue.
It's already reported in the Scam accusation section by TravelMug.

Warning: Fake Chipmixer website

Code:
https://chispmixer.com/

The phishing site is off-line already.

You can also choose to donate lany chips that you create (automatically or through merging/splitting etc)... so it isn't necessarily just the amounts less than 0.001 BTC that ChipMixer receives as donations.

Also, as per the faq:
What will happen if I send less than lowest chip?
...Sending 0.0015 BTC twice will result in three 0.001 BTC chips.

Yeah. Modulo is the % maths symbol that takes the floor of the dividend based on the divisor.

So it just cuts off any of the remainder.

0.102 doesn't give you a 0.102 chip though, it gives you 0.064, 0.032, 0.004, 0.002 chips.

I'm late but it's a sum of any chip value.

So it's more what you send module base chip (in this case 0.001).

Someone translated my script into java script and placed it somewhere, it'd be interesting if anyone finds it as it might be useful for other users here (I can bookmark the post then too).

I thought it was simply that anything under 0.001 gets donated.  For example; if I send 0.1029 I'll get "chips" worth 0.102, and forgo the 0.0009.  But if I send 0.102 then I still get 0.102.  Am I mistaken, is it not that simple?

Cool! So as far as I send value which could be equally divisible in chips, the service is free?

Is it like:

if (bitcoin I want to mix % chip value === 0)
    the service is free
else
the difference is treated as donation
Exactly. They can't you give a custom chip of the difference - if there is any - so they obviously need to keep that.
