Would be nice to get some news, yes.
The decision to sell all GPUs or keep them for HPC work @ CoinLab isn't far away.

Hey Miners,

Yesterday was an American National holiday, so weekly payouts will be sent out today.

Thanks for your patience!

Did CL payout this current week ? are they workin fine again w/ no issues? Im depending on my banked shares to make my gpu's last  bit longer when diff starts skyrocketing cuz asic release.

I got paid just fine. Same here; it seems like it won't be too much longer now (finally).

btw, the ones I have specifically are the black-edition XFX cards (reference cooler, not the DD, which I was choked about when they arrived, but after actually using them, the reference design is extremely efficient at expelling heat out of the case, PLUS, they gulp air from the end of the card, so they cool quite well even though I've got them stacked up, quite impressed with those cards)

I have one of those 7970 XFX DD:

Not good for mining yep, not very efficient at cooling and fans fail easily.
What happens is that they are made of some crappy plastic and almost touching the hot radiator.
Soon enough the plastic starts to get soft, the axle is loosing stiffness and the fan starts to wobble, the temperature increase even more and so on until it breaks. The more affected fan is the one right above the processor.

Well, at least it happened to me  Sad

many thanks for the input, what you have is what I was expecting,

but ^this^ is what I got, I was so mad at first, but in retrospect, it was a blessing in disguise, cuz 3 of these babies 'been running at 1090 MHz steady for, I dunno, 8 months now? in my main use pc. (the fourth one I ran in an open air rig, and pushed it up to 1200, which was too far, cuz now it gives me problems even at the 'factory overclocked' settings, that card is now stable at 850. if I ever sell (preferably trade for nvidia to continue work on projects like coinlab), that card would be the one I keep, cuz even at 850, it's still a gaming monster.

Hoping for HPC client before profitability goes down... ASIC is on the way but I'd rather keep my GPUs than sell them.

I'm sure ebay is gonna be flooded here shortly with cheap 58xx series cards.

agreed on the 58xx. What do you guys feel a 7970 or 4 might fetch 2 or 3 months down the road? It's a pretty kick-ass gaming card, 3gb ram does wonders in some games.

I'd say $250-300 depending on how flooded the market gets. Last time I checked eBay my standard 7970s would fetch $250 apiece.

I still have a few mobos and PSU's ready to ramp up more rigs WHEN the hpc client starts to pay

Now, if Coinlab could just find some clients wanting heavy integer work instead of floating point, we'd be in rockin.  I'm sure ebay is gonna be flooded here shortly with cheap 58xx series cards.

Hey.. I can dream.. right?

should have saved those redeem points...  I will be able to mine for over 2 months after diff climbs above profitability.  Hopefully coinlab will have the kinks in the HPC work worked out.

Maybe con can enlighten us about the development process of the HPC client?!
After a brief look through my contract to remind myself of what I'm allowed to say, I can't say anything much about the progress of the HPC client

Bummer..  with the advent of Avalon ASICs in the wild, we are quickly aproaching the end of GPU mined bitcoins.  This is doubly painfull for those of us who didn't find out about coinlab till the protected pool was already winding down    Undecided

Pretty soon here I'm going to have to decide to either sell the GPU farm, or hold on in hopes of a HPC client.

After a brief look through my contract to remind myself of what I'm allowed to say, I can't say anything much about the progress of the HPC client nor surmise about the business strategies of Coinlab. What I can say is that I have virtually no input into the business strategies, nor do I participate in discussions regarding the business plans at large. Ultimately I'm just an outside coder and work on what I'm asked to work on, when asked to work on it.

Sorry I can't give you more.
