Cova is quite an interesting project with its own ideas! but I want to see more information! I am interested in the country of origin of the Cova project, maybe there are already some links to social networks? thank you!

Ya definitly I’ve been saying a while they need to get a marketing team that can really put their tech into a form that people can easily digest and understand that way everyone’s on same page

Are there any other projects that have the same or similar idea as Cova?

I know of Datum, for example, but they have a totally different approach to bring back control over their data to users if I remember correctly (so no real competitor).

I don’t think they’ve any strong competition, their idea is unique to start with, I see them doing very well in time to come.

There are no competition yet. Some similarity with some dataprivacy projects like DATUM, but COVA PROTOCOL is not just about data privacy. But I think COVA smart protocol would make a smart internet from user data this time with the permission of users

DATUM is all about gathering dataset while cova wants to create a new internet protocol based on smart contract. COVA wants to make the internet smarter while DATUM wants to bring about easy access to data
Yeah! Datum really did good job and they sure did as promised !
But thats not Enough to keep our data safe in future! And we have COVA Now that will leave no stone unturned providing the Product as promised!

Those two projects  are really good, Datum already achieved a  lot of things while the Cova is just starting but I hope these two projects will going to work together and thinking about how big will going to happen after that is really like unstoppable duo bringing us some new internet protocol that will protects our data. Hoping the best to both project!

Covalent protocols when done would limit access of 3rd party to internet users personal data. That would keep users in control of their data.
I think that’s really nice. What else do you think Covalent smart internet could offer internet users. ?

I have to admit. For me, it's still a bit abstract or quite hard to imagine how their new Internet protocol will work in practice. But their approach to stopping data abuse is their most important selling point if you ask me.

I think there was a video about how it all works. It is practically just replacing the conventional https:// with COVA:// and all data will be protected.

cova://mywesite.com looks great to me at least it gonna create a break from the conventional protocol but the team needs to do a lot before it can be adopted by the masses

cova: // is only the visible part, which we hope we do not have to type ourselves. The page providers should then themselves be so far that they only support the Cova protocol (of course, together with the security standards of https)
Although I'm looking forward to the first time, when I see a cova: // above, but that will probably take years

I am not really familiar with Github. So excuse my asking but does anyone know if it's normal that the last commit for the public repositories (https://github.com/covalent-hq/wiki/wiki/Source-Code) are all from more than 4 months ago. Does this mean they are working on something different at the moment? Like the private preview repositories?

I really do not know much about Github.com but I'm going to answer from a layman perspective
Things seem to pick up pretty slow for the project very well evident in their social platform like Twitter.. Just recent they started being active... I really don't know why

It looks easy when you put it that way. The team would be doing every internet user a favour by creating a smart internet.
There are many ways to protect your personal data. You could stay offline and pretend the internet doesn’t exit, or you could use a smart internet and keep your data Strictly Private.

well DATA Theft has really been a huge problem for present days! we needed a CURE, a solution to protect ourselves from being exposed over internet! and i stongly believe can COVA can change it!

Why I belive this can be achieved I'm still of the opinion that it's going to be an enormous task for the team to take on
Marketing is one area they will need all the most efforts they can think of
Getting the word out there to users as oppose investors is paramount in the scale of things

I do not know if it needs a lot of marketing in that case. They just have to get the decision makers on the internet to switch to their protocol. And that will take. How long did it take at https to accept it? And there was no advertising made to move users to change. This is much bigger

I think they are working two different platforms that are not necessarily competition. Cova can be thought of both as a utility and as a marketplace. I don't have much details about datum but from the initial reading Cova has the policy as a plus.

Yea, the theft has been going on for years and the fact is these corporate bodies making millions from the accumulation of such data, a lot of people don't know what's happening behind every click that they perform, its nice to see a brand stepping up to address the issue and probably offer solution to this lingering problem that has been affecting the productivity of the internet

don't you think adoption is the biggest obstacle? I think they a decent solution and the adoption is what I am worried about. That is why earlier I proposed. they start with businesses.

Yea, you're right, just like i stated earlier, humans are difficult when it comes to accepting change, i believe they will have like an implementation process, starting with a certain area or specific area, test out the productivity of the concept before going all out because it makes no sense going full scale when they are yet to get people to use it and give reviews

Yeah, you can find the link to the video on the Covalent website. It is a great video with a great explanation of the idea of Cova.

Having taken a proper look at the COVA project, I think the idea of a "smart policy" can be bigger than what we currently see or think. Imagine when even the government discovers such technology. It might be what is needed for the mass adoption of cryptocurrency.

That's right buddy, Thinking about how big does the Covalent will going to be part of our future because of their smart policy which is everyone really need it to have mo secured protections for their data.
