Stay away from AM3 platform or accept troubles Cheesy  Your best bet is Intel Haswell platform Asrock H81-pro BTC. Sturdy and cheap mobo.

If you will run multiple instances of ccminer then go with Pentium otherwise (for max 3 instances) Celeron will do the job just fine.(mining rig only)
For combo gaming-mining you should go with core I5 or better and better chipset is also recommended like Z87 or better  Grin

Close call for me then, my whole farm was GA 990FX UD3 Mobo's with FX-4130 AM3 CPU's, never a single issue, ever...

So far I can't get my 970's to use more than 79% power, but they're still mining about as well as my rig of 6 750 non-Ti's or a rig of 5 Ti's.

Looks like the miners will need some tweaks to get them operating at full speed.  I'm sure the usual suspects will be on it as soon as they get one of the new cards, but feel free to compile me some with newer computes to try out  Grin I would rather not spend hours messing around with visual studio again...

how many 970 do you have? two?

Someone can help with this, it looks interesting.

This will allow more stimulation in development for the GPU Miner, hopefully we can get some people together to get a stable AMD and NVIDIA miner. There will be bounties available to go directly to GPU Miner development. Bitslapper and I will be working on the AMD version while I am hoping to get some people to help build the NVIDIA version.

Hi first of all thanks for your great work here !
I'm having a little problem while configuring your tool.

It says my libcurl is outdated :

BTW, I've found that getting CUDA and display drivers working on debian is a pain.  That's why I switched to ubuntu server.  I even wrote a guide.

I will move to a 1200W PSU instead and use one 750Ti and the 600W PSU to build another (low-end) RIG, must buy a sempron 145+AM3 mobo+4GB DDR3 1333MHz+HDD 500GB.

I would advice you from the sempron and the AM3 structure. Contrary to what many people think, the cpu does matter. I have read countless posts of people having hashing problems with various coins which ended up being because they were using a sempron. I would advice you go get a intel mobo and use a G3220 or something similar. I have had very good experience with the H81-pro-btc mobo's. Have 12 of them running now without any problems, except the one I fried the first time I tried to use 2 psu for one rig Smiley

If you want to set up the 2 psu rig its nothing you need to worry about if you use usb risers, power the mobo + 1 or 2 gpu's (both riser and 6/8 pin cable) with one psu and you use the second psu solely to power the rest of the cards (both to power the riser and the 6/8 pin). The main factor here is that the usb risers only transmit data through the pci-e slot so you don't have the change of some current feedback to the mobo like you can get with the other risers.

Ok, acknowledged! I will stay away from AM3 platform, it´s just I can´t keep unused/"disabled" hardware, I must sell them or exchange for something usefull, it´s my philosophy. Cool

My supplier gonna try to exchange my actual 600W PSU and the 2 750Ti by PNY for some acessories...(i.e. Razer BlackWidow plus Oroboros mouse or some DDR3 GSkill Ripjaws or something like that).

I´ve changed my "strategy", gone wild and already bought today two 970GTX Superclocked by EVGA for SLI plus an Aerocool 1100W PSU 80 Plus Gold .... and will keep my 2xGigabytes Windforces 750 Ti, made a deal with my supplier with a big discount and this friday - if everything goes right - my new setup will be online...

I will test mining on the 2x970GTX overclocked as hell...I will keep you posted about the results if you like it and post some pics of the setup/cards on my Asrock Extreme 9 AC.

980GTX price here in Brazil is just ridiculous, almost 2x970GTX....just stay away from 980 Tongue

Can I dedicate one PSU just for the 980GTX, let´s say a 400W PSU just for the GPU, 02 paralel PSUs is viable or it would gave me some sort of trouble/ stability issues?

First your 600w psu will not be able to handle the 550 -580w load. Most psu's don't deliver more than 80% of the given wattage for long term. So the common rule is to not exeed 80% of the psu capability. Of course you can have some good gold or platinum psu's that can hold up to 90% of the given capability but usually they cost top $.

If you want to run a second psu on your rig you need to make sure that the gpu is not connected to the pci-e slot on the mobo. That would make it draw power from two sources and is just a ticket to a fried something. You can do this if you use either non powered risers or best imo to use usb risers.

Doing so will mix current from both PSUs @ the GPU. That's pretty risky in my book. I suppose you can get away with it anyway, as long as you're using a powered riser, so that both external power + PCIe power are feeding in from the same (external) PSU.

You also need to look specifically at the 12V line on that extra PSU. A 400W PSU can very well be maxed out at 250W in the 12V line (which is what the GPUs really use), and with a shitty efficiency rating, you might just stress it that little bit too much.

I pretend to buy for now a single 980GTX reference card (26 cm lenght) and my setup is being holded by an Aerocool 600W PSU:

i7 [email protected] - aprox. 150W at full load
I will keep 3 750Ti on the system - aprox. 200W at full load with overclock
980 GTX reference model (2x 6 pins) - aprox. 200W-230W full load with a little overclock?!
1 SSD only - low power consumption

So we have: 150+200+200 = 550W-580W average

I have the 2 x 6 pins free to use in the 980GTX, I am using other powerlines to feed my 2x 750ti windforces, I will keep one PNY 750ti (just PCI-e/no extra power needed) and sell the other PNY.

Do you think my PSU will handle this or I will need at least a 850W PSU?
