As mentioned before, the premine can't be dumped at the moment, there's not enough volume, coin should continue do develop to create a bigger ecosystem, then in the future one can worry about premine dump

They just promise that the premined coins are locked within a period.
They can do anything with the premined coins once the time limit expired, either sell them little by little or dump to the bottom.

Premine can't be locked in certain block height since Dero switch to a BlockDAG structure.
Date of foundation and Team Reveal as far I know was delayed after Smart Contract Implementation.

In a Blockchain you can determine at which height you can lock the premine, because the consensus create only one block at time.
In a BlockDAG one or more blocks can be created a the same time, so you can't determine at which height to lock the premine.

they could sell the premine != they would sell the premine.
I trust the dev team.  Wink

I agree. It is a long term project. Now is good time to accumulate. Price is good

The DERO project team is technically competent and expects greater profits to come soon. This coin is worth investor's patience in the long run

DERO GUI wallet released. https://github.com/deroproject/dero_gui_wallet

Its work in progress but fully functional. Developed from scratch,
DERO gui features:
Remote Node supported by default.
Localhost node also supported. Custom remote node not supported.
ALL communications are TLS/SSL encrypted..
All processing in GUI wallet is local: Data is fetched from remote node and processed locally.
No Keys/seed/passwords is transmitted to remote node in any case.
Even if remote node is compromised, Local wallet is safe.

I am a bit curious is the latest upgrade of DERO GUI wallet optional or mandatory?
I guess it is a optional upgrade because you did not emphasize in your thread that this one is a mandatory update.

No it is not mandatory, don't worry.  It is just a new wallet designed to be more user friendly and the start of a more user friendly way to interact with dero coin.  There is nothing new in terms of implementations of new tech in this wallet, it just is a different way to look at your coins.  So far it's just the alpha release too, so it's probably more stable to use the CLI still, but the gui is very very fast and smooth even  if the alpha version is a bit plain and ugly.

Do any of the Devs of Dero work full time on this project?  I hear the lead Dev Thaer over at Masari has now left his regular job to work 100 percent on Masari. What's the deal with Devs over here?

After seeing quickly a couple vids, it's what I understand so far :
It's the latest technology about Zero Knowledge Proof (a way to send a confirmation that you send receive a certain amount without showing the amount) and has another side effect : lower the transaction fees.

Beside, Zcash use a first generation of Zero Knowledge Proof called Zk-SNARKs but that require trusted hardware to works. The Bulletproofs it's the second generation and doesn't require any hardware to work properly.

Well bulletproof is not a entirely newcomer, bullet proof is a new method develop from CT. Zerocash or Zk-SNARKs or the latest development Zk-STARKs is still the strongest and complex one.

The privacy tech mechanism (or protocol) so far until 2018. You can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpn9ICem5wk&feature=youtu.be

Input for Some Pioneers of the Crypto Privacy Tech. Feel free to correct this list. These are the mother and the father. We need work to define the tree of the children.

Zerocash (zk-SNARKs)    : ZCash (ZEC)
Zerocoin                       : ZCoin (XZC)
Ring, Stealth                  : Bytecoin (BCN); Monero (XMR)
CT, Schnorr          : Monero (XMR); MaxCoin (MAX)
Tumblebit                      : Stratis (STRAT)
----------------------------------------------------
Coin Shuffle                   : NXT
Obsfuscation (Other)      : Bitcoin (BTC) and DASH

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So what is all mean for DERO?
Dero Blockchain rewrite from the scratch in Go Lang
DAG (Third component - or structure protocol)
Privacy protocol : SSL + Bulletproof
Hashing Algo : Cryptonote
Sybil deterrence mechanism : POW
Consensus Protocol : ?

Maybe I am dumb as hell but I don't get it… What does "bulletroofs" mean even?... Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm a total newbie, maybe someone will tell you what it is

A roof in a bad neighborhood?  Grin

Here is a good/short article on Bulletproofs published by Stanford University.

Basically, slower than zk-snarks but doesn't require trusted nodes/hardware, and allows for the implementation of private smart contracts on a blockchain. So, a prerequisite for Dero fulfilling its ultimate goal.
