My miner is pretty small...just 10 Ghash...do you think that solo mining this coin would be feasible with such a small miner, or should I just stick to the pools?

i would stick to pools, post your address ill shoot you 100k Smiley

Exchanges...

Doing our best, still less than 48 hours since we launched the coin, but I like how you are thinking ahead!!

Any idea what's up with the eminer and minecloud pools?  I've tried mining with both, but neither seem to be working...none of the mining is going to unconfirmed when the round completes.

I've never seen this before, so I'm curious if this is an issue w/ the quick block times, or if its just an issue with these 2 pools.

Just an issue with the pools. The crons are struggling to keep up when the majority of miners go to one pool. Works great solo or in small groups. Wallet has been perfect.

Alright, we've changed the symbol to DIEM

https://github.com/CarpeDiemCoin/CarpeDiemLaunch
IF A POOL CHANGES THEIR URL FOR THEIR POOL PLEASE PM ME

No more confusion

...

Sent 3,000,000  DIEM to the Bounties address.  I had to double-check and triple-check my 000's every time.  So much DIEM coins, lol.

i'm updated on the wallet and the carpediemcoind  (stratum server).  Thank you Dev!

Thanks mate. So DIEM is working for you instead of CDC now?

Yes mate! it shows as DIEM, even the previous send to the Bounties wallet shows as DIEM.

On the carpecoind I don't see a difference, but the coins are being generated by the 2 Antminer S1's so I get full reward of 500,000 DIEM every time they solve a block.

It's kinda nice seeing a transfer popping up on the qt wallet, lol

I like DIEM also for the reason we don't want to come up on searches associated to that other coin or people with memories of the  other coin will think we're same community...

Thanks Dev!

No need for any reward! If anything I will send more donations as needed. I really like the way this coins community is coming together also. I think U have a WINNER on your hands! Great concept, awesome pre launch planning especially with the hard fork. I always hear coins under 30 second block times will burn themselves up and not stand the test of time. I think U guys proved them wrong! and daily block halving forces miners to seize the day. When is the best time to mine Diem? The answer is always TODAY!
 Wink

Yes, we had tried a few things with the very fast blocks on how to launch it. Then I thought about other coins and how they have forks right away. So instead of waiting until there are pools, exchanges, and more to update, we could do the fork internally on our own mini network before going live, and it turned out to work great!

    I'm honestly shocked how well received by everyone the fast halving is

    What is shocking about it? Can't do anything to change how the coin halves, that was the allure of it. People aren't going to complain until 15 days in when they realize exactly what they missed out on.

    sorry for all the questions....
    ive done as you said but now when the wallet starts i get a message telling me to enter a password in the conf - which ive done
    i click ok but then the wallet shuts down
    really really sorry for being thick

    Ok, you are almost there!

    Make sure your Roaming .conf file has this

    server=1
    listen=1
    daemon=1
    rpcuser=yourusername
    rpcpassword=yourpassword
    rpcport=6480
    rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
    addnode=23.92.60.76
    addnode=162.243.85.72
    addnode=162.243.105.94
    addnode=162.243.228.207

    Then launch with your .bat with -server again and you should be good to go
    I agree but server=1 is the same as -server in a bat file. It's redundant. unless u launch from Linux and you don't use a conf file. I never use a bat file in windows unless I need to run a command like -rescan or -salvagewallet.

    If you don't use -server it won't read the conf file, you are better off taking it out of the conf instead of the bat if you don't like redundancy

    conf file says exactly that but still the message and then shutdown
    slowly going nuts

    Try changing the password to "pass" without the quotes

    I respectfully disagree. It will read the .conf if it's named correctly. Try it yourself! I have 40+ coins installed and never use a .bat to start them.

    I also add the following:

    logtimestamps=1  adds timestamps to the debug log

    gen=1   mint coins

    setaccount=coin address to make sure any minted coins are sent to the setaccount address.

    irc=0 so you don't see or use IRC broadcasts set to the same port.

    this is my .conf

    listen=1
    daemon=1
    server=1
    gen=1
    irc=0
    logtimestamps=1
    setaccount=MY COIN ADDRESS
    rpcallowip=192.168.1.* MY SUBNET
    rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
    rpcuser=MY USERNAME
    rpcpassword=MY PASSWORD
    rpcport=8332 I mine all coins with the same port. U can make this anything u want
    rpcconnect=127.0.0.1
    addnode=23.92.60.76
    addnode=162.243.85.72
    addnode=162.243.105.94
    addnode=162.243.228.207

    just sayin Grin

    Did you download the windows binary? it is alot easier to do then messing around with the masterfile
    just had to extract and open it xD

    Hi

    I made a coinlike logo for DIEM. I really like DIEM more than CDC.
    Didn't test around with proportions, just made it in a minute. Please leave comments what you think about the idea.
    If you like it i make more.

    Dont know the symbol or how to write it, just copied from threadtitle Wink

    Nice start, we are always open to changing things. We are updating to DIEM as requested, so if people find a new logo they like, we have no problem switching it up!

    Also, I love the YOLO for stupid people, but you have no address in your sig  Sad

    Sorry to group them all at once, but this 360 second post timer is really prohibiting faster responses
