Thinking about investing.  What makes Distro different/better?

It has 8 hours of stake , 15% pos interest and a online wallet  and a good volume on bittrex ^^ Grin

Thanks for the reply.  So reading over the Ann, who is the Dev?  Is it a coin that was created by this Raxe company for someone as their site mentions nothing about distro?

Want to get staking going on windows, heres a quick workaround:

setup a virtual machine and install Ubuntu 14.04LTS

open a terminal window (ctrl-alt-t)

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install git
sudo apt-get install qt4-qmake libqt4-dev build-essential libboost-dev libboost-system-dev libboost-filesystem-dev libboost-program-options-dev libboost-thread-dev libssl-dev libdb5.3-dev libdb5.3++-dev

-I manually compiled miniupnpc as sometimes the repository version doesn't get recognized right apparently!

wget 'http://miniupnp.free.fr/files/download.php?file=miniupnpc-1.6.tar.gz' (i had to rename this b4 tar worked!!!)
tar -xzvf miniupnpc-1.6.tar.gz
cd miniupnpc-1.6
make
sudo make install

-Then go to the folder where you want DistroCoin Wallet to be (e.g. cd ~) and download the latest DistroCoin source from Github:

-EDIT: changed git src
git clone https://github.com/DistroCoin/DistroCoin

-change to the DistroCoin directory

cd DistroCoin

-add upnp and notification support

qmake "USE_UPNP=1"
qmake "USE_DBUS=1"

-then build it

qmake-qt4

make

-done, ready to rock,
-run it (Distrocoin-qt) and close it to create the hidden .DistroCoin folder and content,
-create a share.. help-> https://help.ubuntu.com/community/How%20to%20Create%20a%20Network%20Share%20Via%20Samba%20Via%20CLI%20%28Command-line%20interface/Linux%20Terminal%29%20-%20Uncomplicated,%20Simple%20and%20Brief%20Way!
-copy your block chain and wallet.dat to the hidden (ctrl-h to show hidden) .DistroCoin folder appropriately and your ready to go...
-run Distrocoin-qt

Here is the new wallet update:

https://mega.co.nz/#!VVFTUCzC!oz_3b5XqasN5D4u_0zT1LPZ3lAIw9pPmUv2UIFa5ecM
is this the new wallet? i downloaded works fine and it looks different but still no staking i have about 750k so you would think i would be getting something? not complaining just asking.

I think the priority needs to be a working Windows wallet that stakes now considering the impending end of the POW stage. Our detractors will have a field day when we they find out our soon to be POS only coin does not stake in Windows!

They've said a few times the win wallet will be released with the iOS wallet.  Use the last link for regular wallet staking. Or use th online one or android. Works fine.  No staking as of yet for windows.

The alt wallet software needs updating more before we release it, code was pulled because we need to update it slightly.

This is the linux fix from our associate:

Switched from -msse2 switches to -march=native to allow for non standard cpus to build properly. Tested on Ubuntu 12.0.4 with an ARM processor.

This however will not solve the issue with users building on Digitalocean VPSs. To fix that issue they will have to run the following commands on build:
qtchooser -run-tool=qmake -qt=qt4 "USE_UPNP=-"
Then modify the makefile to switch -march=native to -march=core2
