Wow, still not working.

My last idea (no idea if that really might help but worth a try)

Add this to your conf file and after that the addnode commands

listen=1
daemon=1
server=1
gen=0
rpcuser=**Yourusername**
rpcpassword=**Yourpassword**
rpcport=41522
rpcconnect=127.0.0.1

No i'm all good now, all working. I have just received my first sum of dope! Wink

Great! What was the mistake or how to get it running?

This is my .conf file:

rpcuser=youruser
rpcpassword=yourpassword

daemon=1
server=1
gen=0
testnet=0
listen=1

rpcconnect=127.0.0.1

addnode=5.199.149.228
addnode=213.37.49.176
addnode=98.191.67.106
addnode=107.170.47.143

addnode=91.157.180.238
addnode=80.143.88.230
addnode=94.52.19.22

try adding that info.

I'm running win 8.1 x64 so i'm not sure if this works.
if it doesn't then maybe remove and reinstall dopecoin?

But remember to copy your wallet.dat and dopecoin.conf.
or make a new dopecoin.conf

In my set that file is named dopecoin.conf instead of Dopecoin.conf

it was all that missing info at the top, it's now working. thank you very much!! You are a G! Cheers all!

no problem. glad to help.  Smiley

Just a stupid idea. Did you try dopecoin.conf instead of Dopecoin.conf?

Yes, I thought about that too.

Are you sure your wallet version is v2.1.0.0-g23456789-dope?
Find out under Help --> About Dopecoin

Yes

Quote
That actually could work. also make sure your .conf file is not dopecoin.conf.txt

You should remove that .txt part.

I don't know anything about apple machines except that they have apple logo.  Grin

I think this was the main problem. OS X Yosemite works a bit different, i had to change the hidden extension. But now when I try to open dopecoin, it quits immediately and gives "Dopecoin-Qt quit unexpectedly" message. So it seems to be reading the file, but not liking it very much!

Any ideas?

Tried all of the above, including creating a text file with addnode=5.199.149.228 etc. renamed the file to Dopecoin.conf and just Dopecoin. Restarted the wallet. Wallet has been open for a good few hours now and still no sources. Is this coin still alive? I stopped mining last night. I will put my 7MH back into dopecoin when this is sorted.

How do I do this? There is no option in the preferences menu to add nodes.

Simply put them in the .conf file and restart the wallet.

yes that will do the trick

But it did not.

Voters in Alaska, Oregon, and Washington DC vote YES to Legalization!

Even with an overwhelming majority (57% to 43%) in Florida, the proposed medical marijuana initiative faltered when it failed to reach the 60% super-majority required to amend Florida's Constitution.

This is proof that the legalization movement is winning the hearts and minds of Americans.   2014 will be remembered as a key turning point in the failed war on drugs. The legalization movement scored major  victories despite it being a mid-term election that typically draws less turnout from younger voters and went overwhelmingly conservative, delivering control of the Senate back to the GOP.   It's also proof that the public at large isn't buying into the prohibitionist's fear mongering regarding "weed tourism", "stoned drivers", and other challenges that Washington state and Colorado have been facing since they began the legalization experiment in 2012.    Acceptance by the public at large is growing looking towards 2016 when several huge battleground states that will probably include California set the stage for an even larger wave of legalization across the nation.  With the number of states now participating in nullification growing and the feds now embarrassed by legalization in their own backyard, it's only a matter of time until their resistance falters and we let freedom ring across the nation.

For Mac, the datafolder is:

Code:
~/Library/Application\ Support/Dopecoin

If there's no Dopecoin.conf file there, create one and paste the addnode lines in it.
