What is going on etc ? I was mining in suprnova and now it is not working. Price is going down and volume is also very low. Will new Hardfork affect the price of ETC / ETH ? I am just a small mining guy. If i buy some eth/etc and will I get free coins just for stake those coin during fork ?

Network under attack
try mining to http://91pool.com they have 20% of the network and good up time
use a light wallet https://classicetherwallet.com/  until nodes are stable.

We need the small mining guy, good luck

hard fork now confirmed to break every single promise of etherium classic. head dev even confirms it  Sad

https://www.reddit.com/r/EthereumClassic/comments/57qllt/possible_fud_possible_concern_list_of_contracts/d8u4zb7

oh well it was fun while it lasted. onto the next shitcoin waves or lisk anyone?

Why should the fun end when there could be another chain up for grabs?

"The Ethereum development team officially postponed the execution of EIP150, a hard fork designed to increase the gas cost of transactions, setting the target block to 2463000."
REF: https://cointelegraph.com/news/experts-criticize-ethereum-hard-fork-coinbase-warns-network-instability

We are currently at block 2450803 on the ETH chain (at time of posting)
It looks like coinbase will support the most stable chain.

Anyone fancy mining ETC2?

Therefore, they are to continue ETC’s current chain as ETC Uncensored, splitting ETC’s currency and tiny community.

There is still time to get a node up and running to solo mine.
As the masses leave the chain the difficulty will fall and you should start catching blocks once the hash rate is low enough.  The attacker will follow the hashrate to the new chain or face having to attcak 3 chains, ("new ETH", "ECT" and "Doa fork chain ECT2")
A very good way to combat the attacker? Ramp up their overheads?
Anyhow as soon as the exchanges see ETC2 they will list it and you can start selling your block and Uncle rewards.
Just go get the popcorn and a beer, sit back and watch the fun begin.

Anyone feeling a bit of Déjà vu?

Will they use the ETH code to hard fork or create their own code to deal with the current DDoS attack?

According to ETC dev splix, they use the same standard (EIP-150), but are working on their own implementation over ETC codebase. Because ETC geth code is already fork-aware, implementation of new fork logic could be done in a much cleaner way. EF codebase is structured differently, it is not really fork-aware, so their implementation involves a bit of hacks. Because ETC hard fork is delayed compared to ETH, it will be possible to see the effects of EIP-150 hard fork on ETH first and correct ETC HF implementation if there are some problems. So, in a way, ETH serves as a test net for ETC.

ETH forked again. What is going on with ETC?
as far as i know a fork is planed in 9 days(block 2500000) to fix the dos attacks

Issues should be addressed even if its required a hard fork as there is no alterative...hope there will be an official word soon.
for sure there will be a official word soon. as i understand it they are still sorting out details and test it.
i heared they said dont rush it have it tested and let eth fork first.
i like that approach.

i am no expert but it seems to me yes they use the same way eth does.
