It doesn't matter really, they have proven to be liars and shady as hell. Damage is done. My opinion, they were all in on it and we won't know the truth unless there is a court case, there very well may be one but who cares, they handled all of this like children and I believe now we will really see eth go down hard. That's why you don't go all homero garza up in here.

That is right. I think the DAO hack should be reported to the authorities and then the hacker is put into justice.

Ξpool

Unfortunately, the 0% fee period is now over.  However, payouts interval has been increased now that tx costs can now be covered. We expect another promotion period in the near future. We hope you continue to choose Ξpool

Thanks,

So where does this leave us right now? Who or what entity is holding the funds in Poloniex? Since poloniex is a regulated exchange, the account that holds all the recovered funds surely must be held by a real person and he surely could be brought to stand trial in court if any owner of DAO thought so?

AFAIK polo allows anyone to create an account and deposit any amount of crypto currency. They will do KYC if you try to withdraw above a certain amount. So it's technically possible that the account holding the funds is anonymous.

yes but if so they cant withdraw . and who would sent coins to a acount they cant withdraw ? or only little pices day by day.
ok ok you are right look at the story they have no  brain sure they are that stupid .

@Herp  I don't think that its so much as a split, I think that crypto as a whole is just showing how immature it really is as a trust-less monetary system.

I stand to inherit a reasonably large sum over the next year or two.   Would i invest it i crypto? Not on my life mate.... I might play around with a couple of grand but, I see gold and silver as a better more profitable and more secure investments over crypto.  Moreover, private blockchain companies like Bitgold is where i see the major growth to be as these types of organisations abide by a pre developed legal structures far more transparetly.  Also https://www.bitgold.com has just re-branded as https://www.goldmoney.com in order to distance itself from crypto while still maintaining blockchain tech.  Also, you can deposit crypto-currencies to the Bitgold platform and exchange it for gold.  This allows me to still play around with a bit of crypto mining but cashout in my favourite metal.  Like frostminer, i like to cashout as often as i can.   http://support.goldmoney.com/customer/en/portal/articles/2089338-deposit-with-bitcoin

Also, the exchanges in crypto have behaved disgracefully of late.  I have always enjoyed a little margin trading but i am tending to lean back towards forex over crypto.  I do think there is a future in this tech but it is just not ready for it yet and nor will it be in my lifetime.
That doesn't mean you cant have a little fun with it, just don't go staking large sums of money hay!   Do as the grownups do and buy property or a couple of keys of gold.

Crypto is the separation of Power and State.
The ETC seems to be split about the way forward. What's the latest on that?

Don't confuse the devs who actually code (and thus create the future of ETC) with the wishful thinking of the peanut gallery (who are suggesting silly things like a hard fork to [muh favorite] PoW.

ETH is also "split about the way forward."

That puts ETC in the catbird seat, as we may wait and see if Casper3 PoC or whatever actually works.

And we know from prior experience (VeriCoin, DAO) that PoW only works until a significant number of coins are stolen.

Then the whole thing becomes a clusterfuck, as conflicting interests pit the anti-rollback/immutability types against the ostensible-utilitarian/expediency-minded crowd.

Prior examples indicate the temptation+imperative to rollback from theft is irresistible+overwhelming to Core Devs, no matter the particular project under consideration.

All ETC trades will be free of cost

More importantly, as a celebration of their new trading feature, the Korbit team announced that all ETC trades will be free of cost, eliminating exchange and conversion fees for all users for a while.

Ethereum Classic [ETC] is listed: https://yobit.net/en/trade/ETC/BTC
Ethereum Classic Dice: https://yobit.net/en/dice/ETC

Balances credited from Yobit profit. We had no info about fork and lost initial deposit in few first hours like BTC-e.

Code:

Donate ETC coins to our Giveaway: https://yobit.net/en/freecoins/

Riigghtt...and then asking for donations too...fukn lol!!! This is what I have been saying for a week. The eth devs, foundation and their imaginary Robyn hood in tights brigade and the "white hats" ( all the same people btw ) got a shit load of etc and could have helped out the exchanges and whoever else got hosed by their programming flaws bail out roll back situation...nope, just kept it. And eth people are cool with that, every part of it is fucked up. Greed will get you hemmed up in this game.

Charles Hoskinson on slack just gave me this link to a reddit of "Summary of Events"
(feel free to up vote it)

https://www.reddit.com/r/EthereumClassic/comments/4xdq4h/a_summary_of_events/

QUOTE:

So, I thought that I could write a quick summary of most of the events following the hack and the fork. This is probably biased towards the anti-fork and ETC side, but I imagined that it could shed some light on the actions of the governing bodies of the ETH blockchain. The list of events starts from before the hack until now. I have missed some parts but many of these are the reasons I personally decided to not support the ETH blockchain in it's current state. If anyone have anything to add, critique or correct, please do so.

Stephan Tual proclaims the DAO is safe. Somewhere before the hack Emin Sirer writes a post that he knows how to empty the DAO using the recursive call split explot. Emin later points this out and Stephan Tual then points fingers at Emin Sirer, implying he might be the supposed hacker.

    DAO hack happens.

Stephan Tual says that he would like to know the identity of the people that oppose a hardfork. http://imgur.com/O72VpnM

Vitalik Buterin asks exchanges to stop trading ETH.

The RHG is created and secures the remaning DAO funds.

A small percentage of miners get to vote where the support for both a SF and a HF, were the votes in favor of the fork was overwhelming. Later a carbonvote is set up where a small amount of all ETH holders got to vote, this one is also overwhelming in favor for the HF and supposedly 25% of the yes votes were from one single holder.

Vitalik Buterin later proclaims that "12% is big enough to give a very reliable idea of the community's sentiment, and carbonvote was up long enough that I'm satisfied that people got ample opportunity to participate."
https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/4vzpic/vitalik_says_he_wont_support_etc_even_if_it/d636hhf

The fork is proclaimed a success. https://twitter.com/initc3org/status/758000698881613824

Vlad Zamfir decides to not fix replay attacks because he didnt think the fork would survive since he thought it would immediately hardfork. https://twitter.com/VladZamfir/status/759552682013102080

Stephan Tual calls ETC dead because the replay attacks will render the ETC "quickly irrelevant".

ETC makes a giant price surge and get the backing of miners, investors, ETH-holders, EF members and other parties.

Skypechat leaks from EF foundation members Fabian Vogelsteller and others discuss selling ETC-shares http://imgur.com/a/DHexx

Alex Van de Sande writes an article where he denies that the EF and their members were financially motivated in their actions, and that the fork was made against the the wishes from the community.
https://medium.com/@avsa/the-truth-about-the-fork-fd040c7ca955#.gi5w406bs

Developers for ETH rally under the banner of "I am 100% ETH", following a tweet where Vitalik were asked if he would develop for ETC would the fork reach parity with ETH or overtake it. When ETC/BTC reached an all time high of 0.006 and ETH/BTC hit a low of 0.014, this possibility wasn't that far fetched.

White hack commences. No messages were at all relayed during the attack from the RHG group to reveal their intent, until the funds were transferred to exchanges. The RHG group states that "signals from the community" said that they should dump it on exchanges for ETH, and refund it to DAO-holders and the foundation. No reply thus far on either who these signals were or how supposedly an amount of top developers/hackers did not have the ability to create a refund in ETC.
https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/4xasg3/follow_up_statement_on_the_etc_salvaged_from/

Fabian Vogelsteller denies that anyone in the Foundation had anything to do with the DAO, the RHG "whatsoever" and like Alex Van de Sande, he also proclaims that "almost nobody from the foundation owned DAO tokens, ASFAIK. And if rather little." https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/4xcqwk/etcdao_stolen_coins_frozen_by_exchanges_was_sent/d6edca7

So what can we gather from this, if everyone is speaking the truth and all these sources are legitimate?

Noone in the EF had any financial connection to the DAO, but still pushed the fork without regards to consensus.

Members of the EF is involved with selling their stake in the ETC blockchain.

Noone in the EF had any connections to the RHG, these were probably contractors outside of EF.

The "signals" from the community were not from the EF, rather some yet unseen entity that has not made itself known yet since the communication between the RHG and the ETH/ETC-community seemed to be silent during the transfers to the exchanges.

EF and it members wasn't interested at all in saving their own assets and stakes in the DAO since most of them didn't have any, and the push for the fork was strictly to save the DAO token holders and adher to the wishes of the community.

So where does this leave us right now? Who or what entity is holding the funds in Poloniex? Since poloniex is a regulated exchange, the account that holds all the recovered funds surely must be held by a real person and he surely could be brought to stand trial in court if any owner of DAO thought so?

@frostminer  You don't seem the sort to fit in with the KRypton crowd?  neoscrypt you say, feathercoin is now neoscrypt, a sleeping giant!
You have alot of eggs in the ethash algo i see.  You gonna get behind one of them?  Or just mine the most profitable, they switch around quite a bit, you mine them simultaneously or just the one at the top of the chart?

What you mean i dont fit?
You should join our slack Wink
KR is the only one i dont dump for pay.

The ethashes has been very profitable to mine. I mostly follow difficulty to get max coins and sell at the right moments.

Yep, i think FTC will grow and grow too.
