Reality is stranger than fiction
Help!

I logged in into DGEX, seen where my finds have been paid (FIMK account).

Then I downloaded the offline wallet, entered the passphrase from dgex and that passphrase created a different account, with no FIM in it!

Alright, so do you have to run your client 24/7 in order to forge like NXT?

Thats up to you. You forge by the second. Every 30 seconds there is a block.

any difference in using your local client or the web client?

Yes. Lots of difference. Running your local client is much safer.
Currently you must send your passphrase to the public clients, not because it's needed but because the client was put together that way. That will change soon.

We'll probably have our blockexplorer up tonight or latest tomorrow, you can safely check your balance from that.

how many confirmations required for a transaction??

In order to start forging we require 1440 blocks (or confirmations). For the rest it's up to you. There is always the risk of being on a fork, that risk decreases with the amount of blocks (confirmations).
Since FIM blocks go faster than NXT (30 seconds) the wait time to trust a transaction is *real/confirmed* is halved.

If someone send you some FIM and you must decide if the FIM is safely in your account so you can; send them your gold/release your hostages  Wink as a rule of thumb 720 transactions is considered pretty safe.
The client uses an indicator of 10+ considering 10 blocks relatively safe. Basically it all depends..

0?
It depends who your sending it.
Someone can accept it with 0 confirm someone can accept it with 100 confirms.

no block since 15 minutes?
i have send my password to forge and i hope it´s no problem?!

Thats not what i see here. There are 30 peers on the network currently and most of them are on block 1158 which is less than a minute old.
There is one peer on block 1153 and one on 1155. Just give it time and the client will get you on the right block.

For now account aliases could be created using 'Other' type and data in this format:
acct:XXX@fim
where XXX is a numeric account.

Great thanks, thats how it will work to! I'll put that on the other forum

Right, so that should count as a "Sent" transaction that secures the account and allows forging. Right?

Yes. That counts as a transaction. Sending a message counts as a transaction to.

I assume it is only forging is you are running the client and logged in. OR are you saying, my dgex balance is forging even though I haven't installed and logged into a client yet?

You must either run a node and start forging there. Or start forging on the public node https://wallet.fimk.fi:7886.

But. I don't recommend doing that with large stakes. There is always the risk of that server being hacked/snooped or whatever.
We consider our sysadmin to be very good, but as a rule you should be very careful sending your passphrase to public nodes.

Are those who used escrow forging already? Or not?
If they are using the given account - yes. If they transferred holdings to a new one - not yet.

I meant only those who opened their wallets and started forging.

How to log on the wallet? what's the URL?
https://wallet.fimk.fi:7886

There is an annoying technical requirement to make an outgoing transaction somewhere before you can forge (do that before block 1440). FIMKrypto organization account is FIM-M3YE-7Q2G-JEZS-HPHK4.

Can you register an alias as you can with NXT?

Yes.
It costs 0.1FIMK

I guess so.
But I'm not sure, I just sent 0.1 to someone.

Yes you can but i'm currently fixing a bug in the html/javascript client that does not allow to register account aliases.

The client can't refresh synchronously, I must close the client, reload, then the transactions will all be shown.

Not at all sure what's the cause of that. We do have an issue tracker for these kinds of things so our team can look into it later in detail. https://github.com/fimkrypto/fimk/issues

How to understand this:
Account FIM-MRCC-2YLS-8M54-3CMAJ Info
The account has a balance of -666'279'998 FIM.

Thats the genesis account

Can you register an alias as you can with NXT?

Yes you can but i'm currently fixing a bug in the html/javascript client that does not allow to register account aliases.

Thanks! (Another forum that I'll need to follow. Sigh.)

I was right this will do interesting things for the price.
If someone buys 1 million now, gets at least 630k in rewards in one years time. Thats huge.

Can someone calculate how much forging with 10k FIMs makes approximately in 24 hours?
10k is 1/33000 of all active amount. There are 2880 blocks per day.
So, the minimum probability to forge a block in 24 hours is 2880 / 33000 = 0.087.
So, in average it should be 0.087 * 200 = 17.5 coins per day.

So I get 1 reward approximately every 11.5 days?
Damn, why didn't I buy more  Shocked
At least. I don't think everyone will be forging 24/7, so you will be rewarded more.

That is good point.
Smallest account I have seen getting rewarded had 60k FIMKs
