Why this coin is so slow?

In 2 days only 20 blocks?

!!! WARNING: This user is a newbie. If you are expecting a message from a more veteran member, then this is an imposter !!!

Hey, The problem is the Proof of Stake blocks seem to be very stretched out. As far as I can see YEP blocks should be every couple of minutes but it's hour's which is why I am assuming it is the net weight as it is only on 205.

how much would that be?

Thanks

This is actually a fairly common problem with small-supply coins. You need to change the minimum difficulty for PoS to compensate for the small supply. The relevant line of code is https://github.com/yep-project/YEP/blob/master/src/main.cpp#L42

Note you'll need to pick a proper block number to make a hardfork at and add a "bnProofOfStakeLimit_v2" or some such to use after that block with a lower difficulty... Based on your tiny coin supply I'd probably go with something safe and small like a value of "(~uint256(0) >> 4)".

If you want me to actually do this change, I can only change the code itself. I don't compile Windows or Mac wallets these days because it's such a pain to get a good setup for it going.

Thanks,
Jordan

@dev great work with PoS reward incentive, little to high imo but still nice. But still PoS needs fixing asap, blocks are simply not moving and that sucks.. try to contact some devs from other coins like @crave @tron @nanas lol  Grin i am sure you will get helped.

So is this accurate?

New Pos Rewards:

2020 - 2045 = 20  YEP per block

The reason I ask is because I staked block 2020 but it didn't pay 20 YEP.  The reward was 0.36690961.  Block 2020 returns blockhash 58a01259a944e340abcf896f8b6050fbbfe832a9527ddb0c1ea6b3c06eefd919 in the wallet block browser which is the block attached to the transaction ID for the staked block. Also, the block explorer at http://cryptobe.com/chain/YepCoin only shows up to block 2019.

New rewards start at 2021 the 2020 is when normal pos stopped. ie

it will be 20 yep until block 2045 then the next reward kicks in at 2046 and so on

https://github.com/yep-project/YEP/blob/master/src/main.cpp#L1011-L1013

Thanks

Ah okay.  The way it's written in the ANN makes it sound like 2020 is the first block with the new reward but I see in the code it actually starts at 2021.

Also, now the wallet is out of sync at block 2020.  Last generated block was three hours ago.

No worries mate Smiley I just been around long enough I know things that impatient crybaby traders hate and leave a coin because of but you've been solid from day 1 so you've got me sticking around for the long haul and I'm working on getting other people involved as well Smiley I like to see honest Developers get a chance to make something of their coin. It beats supporting the shit scam Devs that launch the same shit over and over again lol
But everyone has their own ways to do things in the CryptoWildWest lol Cheers

Please no name calling lets keep it civilized Wink

Well what is the point to scam I had no rush at all for an exchange as I've stated in the original post I am here to learn more and that I am Grin at the same time trying to convince people instead of shall we say moaning because of something why not actually get involved for yourself and learn I ask of no money or btc for that so a bit :/.

Thanks

Ya you gotta do something to figure that out because my wallet syncs then doesn't find a block for over an hour so it unsyncs and that's going to hurt people wanting to invest in your coin mate Wink

I'm in contact with a Community Member called Earlz regarding him checking Proof Of Stake and the cost. I will have it sorted.

Thanks

I WON'T BE GOING ANYWHERE EVEN IF THE WHOLE NETWORK WENT UP IN SMOKE NOW I WILL STILL BE HERE REBUILDING

I will be working on things for yep but until I have completed a crowd funding sale of items some of those I won't be able to put into action.

Thanks

P.S sorry for the short response
Don't worry about the short responses mate I'm just a rambler lol all my posts are usually freaking stories but that's cause I love to talk lol But ya I'm behind you 100% and have been telling everyone I know about your coin to try to get the people selling cheap to smarten up and everyone to put their coins in their wallets Smiley Also do you know why the blocks move so slowly?

Low Supply & Low Net Weight in my view as POS works we know it works, we know what's in the source should mean smooth blocks being staked which is why I'm saying Net Weight. I could be completely wrong but until someone has a shall we say review over the code we can't put a nail in the koffin on this one. I am testing different param's to see what happens but won't be releasing until I know it works/Or if the chain moves along.

Thanks
