In the game, the monsters, don't have levels, the players do.

You level your player up by winning battles.

A higher level allows your to breed and battle with stronger and rarer Etherians, which are more valuable.

It is completely a different pattern of online gaming where you can avoid battles or hurting other players.

There are battles in this and the battles are against other players. You can avoid them but your player will stay level one and you will only be able to breed Sun monsters. If you were to do that, you could buy expensive Astral monsters from the marketplace, rather than breed them.

A better thing is you could buy a super strong monster from the open marketplace and battle with it to win battles faster and level up faster.

Yeah! The best way to get strong monsters though is to breed them from scratch when you are a high level.

This is why higher levels in Beta will have a better chance of first discovering the monsters with high bounties.

In Ether, the players get the most importance as with the each leveling up instead of the monsters the players are upgraded.

You hatch your eggs into monsters which are battled, bred, and sold for real ETH!

When you win a battle, your player level increases, and higher level players can hatch and breed rarer and more powerful monsters which can be sold for more ETH.

Also if you are the first to discover one of the total 200 monster species, you are credited publicly as being the one to discover that species, and this along with many other things are stored on the blockchain. If this is during Beta you also get an ETH reward bounty for discovering the monster.

If you're worried about the developers owning the assets that you pay for, this is impossible, as the game is decentralized and everything you own, you actually own as it's recorded on the Ethereum blockchain and attributed to your wallet address.

The market decides like any good market should.

However, since presale eggs were selling at $600 each when the price of ETH was high, it's possible this will affect the price of monsters on the marketplace.
