I had the issue with ver 1.3 release not working at first as mentioned, and didn't understand until a few moments ago how to fix it, LOL.
So, in case any others are having issues, I will try to ELI5 (explain like I'm 5).

Go to your GUN config files in your Users/AppData GUN directory as GuncoinInfo wrote and make sure it has:

rpcallowip=192.168.1.1

Worked for me Smiley

I think you may want to make that 127.0.0.0 - that is generic to everyone.....it just cannot have the * in it.....

I am going to play the devil's advocate here for a moment and say that we should look at criticism such as what Zarmung left, as constructive.

He did say "looks" like a scam, and did use the friendly term "M8" describing a possible exploit.
Maybe not stated as tactfully as it could have been though.

We all understand that the issue isn't with the difficulty adjustment per say, but most likely what can happen with most
smaller POW coins that could use some additional, and regular hashpower.

So... I invite him to help out with mining if he so chooses, and thank him for his interest.

Understand - I think the point is he showed up out of now where, made a judgment with out any facts or anything about GUN.  The word scam is not what you want to see here or any where - regardless of the context.  What he pointed out is common with smaller coins - many are much more vulnerable than GUN.  Any high power miner can always take advantage of it. The good news is that, the coin now pretty much takes care of itself.  If someone wants to put 50 GPUs on GUN for a week or two, I for one and thrilled to death.  He will mine a lot of coins and put more into circulation to be traded. When he/she is done, all will go back to normal and life goes on.  That is why we went the Neoscrypt route and why it is much better than two miners playing with a dead coin.  All that being said, more miners spread over all the pools would be a very good thing.  That way, no one miner or pool can grab most of the coins.  Do not know about you, but I get coins every day - so there are plenty to go around....LOL, six months ago, people complained about an almost dead coin - now they complain because we have so much attention, the hash rate is 10 times what it used to be.....

What new ammo tracking rules were you referring to?  Ammunition purchases being recorded on the Guncoin blockchain, or something different?

Google California and ammo and January 1 and see what they did.......

NYS implemented a KYB (Know Your Buyer) policy in 2014, effectively banning NYers from buying ammo online and having it sent through the mail.  This caused many NYers to just go out of state to buy in bulk.

Cali, has one-upped that.

The GUN V1.3 wallet has been fine for me so far. It's been running since the first day it was available and everything seems to be in good order.

Very good to hear.  You guys are a quiet group.  I have to poke you every once in a while to make sure all is OK....LOL.

So I have had several inquiries by PM or email as to what comes after GUN V1.x gets up to date with bitcoin core 0.13/0.14.  For starters, at that point, we will create and release our mobile wallet.  While all this will take a lot longer than we first thought, I have no doubt we are on the right path and will have the foundation for a very solid and secure coin that anyone can use for almost any purpose.

To date, the changes and updates have been funded by myself and TheSignGuy (thanks!).  So moving forward, we see lots of whale wallets out there and donations in GUN are always appreciated.  If you do use the address below, please make sure that you send me a PM to let me know, so I know where it came from.  In addition to financial donations, technical and marketing help are always very beneficial to GUN and the Guncoin team.  If you have lots of coins and lots of skills, let us know how you would like to help.  As I have said many times, the desire is to keep the coin decentralized and that requires support from the community to keep that in place.

So moving forward, there are lots of options in regards to making the coin and the blockchain more private for prying eyes.  While no one is looking to circumvent any laws, no one wants our blockchain used to track anything that we do not want tracked.  Which brings up an interesting thought from someone....with new ammo tracking rules in place and potentially more coming, using Guncoin or a potential Guncoin variant could potentially accommodate that.  That is just one of several ideas, we are evaluating.  Honestly, I would prefer to see those things discussed here, so everyone can contribute their thoughts.  It is a boring forum, if I am the only one writing and the exchanges and advertisers look for high participation.

So for now, Happy New Year again and get your wallets up to V1.3 please.

GunCoin network has a bug!
Look at explorer https://chainz.cryptoid.info/gun/# the adress H3tP4g3u3HTCPsLp8Z3Zuj9xkXE36aga8K mined 20 blocks in a minute (3000guncoin) then network lagging about hour or so.

No point to buy or even mine this coin.

Fix it or it looks like scam.

Ha ha ha, this douchebag comes in almost 2,000 posts into an almost 4 year old thread, calling the coin a scam..

OMG OMG OMG, the sky is FALLING!!!!

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA, go away loser..

I hope by now, the majority of our users have moved to GUN V1.3.  It is VERY important to V1.1 users to do this before the fork which will be a hard fork for them.  As a reminder, it will fork at 840,000 in about 2 weeks.  Also some of our longer time users make note of what Bushstar said in a previous post.  A few of you have reported errors with V1.3 and they are caused by exactly what Bushstar told us about.  It is a simple fix in your GUN config files in your Users/AppData GUN directory.  I upgraded another wallet today to V1.3 and saw that issue and changed the file and all is working fine now.

Take your scam claims elsewhere please.  You are describing how difficulty is determined and we have DigiShield in place to cover getting stuck at high difficulty.  We have autswitch pools who will periodically switch hundreds of miners onto GUN and drive the difficulty up - Digishield brings it back down.  During that period it can take hours to find a block and there is a huge backlog.  When DigiShield brings the difficulty back down to normal, the miners with the biggest hashrate will find the most coins and quickly due to the backlog.  If this protection were not there, our difficulty could get stuck at 99 or higher and no blocks founds for days.  The fact that we are a smaller coin with fewer miners makes solo miners or pools like this stand out much more since they do most of the mining work.  As far as I can see, our blockchain is behaving as it has for the past 4 years.  There is no issue here.

LOL, LOL, you need some glasses sir or a lesson in how block chains work.  Our coin has been rock solid for almost 4 years now.  Our code is open source and you or anyone is free to inspect how things work - which is probably best to do before you stand on the roof tops and yell scam - that just shows your ignorance to everyone.  Keep in mind, this page shows coin transfers as well as mining activity.  If I move 25,000 coins to another wallet or an exchange it is going to show up there.  Additionally, most likely that address is one of the many mining pools or large miners that we have mining gun.  They solve lots of blocks pretty fast when the hash rate is high.  When our difficulty goes up, it is not uncommon to have many blocks being mined at the same time and then found very quickly when the difficulty drops.  There is NOTHING UNUSUAL with what you are seeing - our lengthy history and open source code prove my point!

It means if some1 got alot of hashpower he need just wait till difficulty drops then he's going to connect to the network, mine 1 minute while collecting 20+ blocks after he move his hashpower to another coin. All this manipulation increase time to find block from 2 min to 1 hour - one focken hour m8!!!!!!!!
Over the time when difficulty normalizes it happens again.
ALL THIS MEAN that H3tP4g3u3HTCPsLp8Z3Zuj9xkXE36aga8K pumping almost all block of GUN using only 10-20% of hashpower of network.

GuncoinInfo - look at explorer !!! it's exploit m8!!!!

Happy New Year from the Guncoin Team and hope your year is off to a great start.  Just a reminder that we released GUN V1.3 last week which brings us one step closer to being caught up to current technology and has some important upgrades.  It is important to note that this will be a hard fork for V1.1 users at block height 840,000, so please upgrade now.

Best wishes to the gunteam also. What should i do with my coins being held on Cryptopia, since i dont use guncoin wallet only on cryptopia. Will the update happen there automatic, thanks

Once Cryptopia upgrades their wallets, yours will be fine - there is nothing for you to do if your only wallet is there.
