Glad he has moved on.  We will save the DGW3 feature for our next fork in the first quarter of next year.  If this shows up as an ongoing problem, we can roll it out sooner with just the DGW3 to reduce the headaches for our miners....

Stay tuned everybody, whoever it is that keeps hitting guncoin is doing it intentionally.

They are hitting Gun with heavy hash, running the difficulty way up, then leaving and waiting for the difficulty to drop back to normal, then hitting it again to push it back up.

Why they are doing it, is apparently to screw with the coin in some way.  Hopefully they get tired of wasting electric, and not making any real coin with that hash power, and give up soon.

We have a potential fork that would eliminate this as a problem and he would not be able to do it anymore.  It is planned for the next upgrade, but we could do it fairly soon if this continues.....

It appears that whoever it was, has had their fun, grabbed a few coins, and moved on..

It looks like the only long term result was a delay in blocks being awarded while the difficulty came back down.  It would take more digging for an accurate measurement, but at a quick glance it looks like the block chain was pushed back by about 2 hours.

in sgminer 5.1 dev i get 307kh on my 280x...
but in cgminer 3.7.8 i get 160+kh....
solo mine with sgminer not possible, its a problem....

You should be able to get close to the the hashrate I show in the pic above with your 280x with the proper settings.  My 290 and 290x are bottlenecked to about the same speed the 280x is capable of by the neoscrypt kernel.

Make sure that you are doing the correct driver update procedure as well, as CGminer does not pull the drivers from the folder like SGminer does.  You need to install 14.6 drivers, create the .bin files, then update to 14.9 to get maximum speed out of CGminer for neoscrypt.

Note that if you go straight to the 14.9 to create the bins, you'll get great hash rate, but it'll be 100% HW errors.  You have to do the upgrade.

Follow the procedure here (except use 14.6 drivers not 13.11 or 13.12) - https://forum.feathercoin.com/index.php?/topic/7949-the-un-official-how-do-i-mine-neoscrypt-with-cgminer-377b-and-an-ati-gpu-thread/

cgminer 3.8.7 kernel neoscrypt140909 - my 280x get 150-170kh/s .....its normal ?

Can go much faster.

Try intensity 13, worksize 124, GPU threads 2, thread concurrency 7680, with that I get 290k. (on SGminer in a pool, not guaranteed to work on CGminer)

CGminer 3.7.8 cannot be configured to solo.
you can put config and cgminer if solo mining

CGminer 3.7.8 should be able to, but CGminer 3.7.7b ABSOLUTELY can solo mine for sure, I have done it.

What wrong ? and what can i do ?

There is a bug in SGminer that makes solo mining for all neoscrypt coins not work.

Try using CGminer 3.7.8.

So did the Mac wallet ever get updated to fix the pool mining?

We were not aware that there was an issue with that.  However, we have no planned wallet updates of any kind for several months.  We will add that to the list of bug fixes.

Let me know how many guncoins they want for a Glock 17. (Or a Sig P320)

Waiting for an answer, but it will likely be whatever the daily going rate is at the exchanges.

FYI, to keep me from having to be the middleman, I'll probably point you both at guncoinads.com and you can contact each other from there.

FYI, I am currently working with a store owner to be the first gun store accepting guncoin.

YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!

This is great news and a great job.  Give him a stack of stickers and see if he wants any patches.....He can sell them for Guncoin, if we give him some free......
