Who are these guys behind the team? No information about these devs? That's already A BIG RED NO if I do not know that even.  Undecided

Yeah, I mean all the downloading and private key importing and all that is just an extra hassle. It would be much better if the team used a POS type of staking. This way, we would feel more secure without downloading anything and would have to look at it every 90 days instead of running a program all the time.

I think the goal of staking in the wallet is to make HAT tokens worth more because if 50% of all tokens are locked in staking wallet, the are not counted into the circulating supply. That's why CMC shows such low circulating supply (currently 337,793 HAT).
The (new) HAT ETH contract is the only "instance" that is controlling the staking process and thus you need to interact with it to stake. The wallet cannot do any magic here outside the control of the contract (unless there is a function for that). As the functions are publically available and even the contract is  open source everyone can check it and interact with the contract (as long as you respect the rules of the contract). That's why the wallet is not needed for the staking, it's only purpose is to automate the process and allow a simplified interaction with the contract. For interacting with the contract in the name of your ethereum account/address you need to provide your private key. As you cannot check what the wallet does with your private key you cannot be sure whether it's misused (with the knowledge of the private key it has full control over your ethereum wallet/account/address).
It's possible to manullally stake by interacting with the contract as I stated here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.27372662
This way you can use any client that supports ERC-20 and you like and/or trust ;-)

please note that the build is currently in alpha phase. it is not catering to an intuitive user experience and optimized function at the moment. Once we develop further you should see more improvement in usability.

Hei team can anymore please answer me. I got this error when I want to access the HAWALA wallet. It said "you cannot start application from this location because it is already installed from a different location".

Can someone let me know the solution for this? Thank you!

I think the problem is you didn't uninstall previous version of the application. After you uninstall the old version, you will be able to install the new version.

I've been trying to find the link to download the Android application. Is it currently accessible in this platform or still underdevelopment?

Android release is scheduled for 15th Jan.

I wonder if we can use an online wallet for POS staking. I mean I dont want to download an exe file. Normally you send your own tokens to yourself, and there, it is staked every 90 days. Is this any different?

You can use an online wallet, but using this method you need to execute the call to staking functions manually copying contracts addresses and code...

Will there be a way to send the Hawala today tokens to the desktop wallet? It seems that I can only import a private key, which I am wary to do as my HAT are on my Ledger Nano.

Why don't you do like I did - create different ETH address just for HAT and then import private key of that address into the HAT wallet. That way your other coins and tokens are secure in the Ledger Nano S and you can stake your HATs.

Will do, cheers!

Hi everyone,

The Coin Swap is being done this way because an automatic swap posed a risk to users' funds stuck in EtherDelta (they have not yet responded to any of our queries). The current process is semi-automatic. The new contract collects info from the old one and replaces any oldHAT tokens sent to the old contract address, with the new IFS activated HAT tokens in the wallet that sent them. This process is dependent on the Ethereum blockchain and can sometimes take a while depending on the congestion levels. If you have successfully sent your tokens to the right address, then you will get your tokens.

PLEASE NOTE:

The Coin Swap is a 1:1 ratio exchange!

If you send your old HAT tokens to the wrong address, or some other tokens to the Hawala contract address, we will NOT be able to return those tokens to you, they will not be retrievable.

Please read the guide here

You can also view the swapped tokens sent out by Hawala.Today here

Thanks for the clarification. I sent them out yesterday, will it take a couple days to receive new ones?

I think "normal" is what the team behind the token or coin says. And Hawala team says that users need to download their wallet in order to stake HAT tokens. In the future staking will be secondary feature and primary will be peer2peer crypto trading. No one is forcing you to download the wallet. You can have HAT tokens in any Erc20 compatible wallet. But you can stake only with Hawala wallet.

Excuse me, does anyone know what happened with the bounty program? I made an article explaining the project more than a month ago and I have not received any HAT token. Does anyone know something?

You need to write in the Bounty program theme.

Is there any news on the etherdelta application? I mean otherwise, it does not seem to be worth anything in my wallet, even in ethplorer.
HAT listed on etherdelta is the old token. The price isnt correct for the swapped token it is tradet on a different website!
