If you fail to analyze a case correctly, who is going to be held liable for the damage that might cause? Will you sign contracts and take full responsibility in advance of any investigation?
When creating small investigation reports we use public data. When creating more demanding investigation report we always share all data about investigation with our customer. In report its shown how we gathered information and how we processed it. Gathered data is open for our customer so they can make also their own conclusions about the target aside of our investigation results.
That is a good way to go about it. So to say you really let them make their own decision but only provide an recommendation. That way you prevent yourself from being liable.
