Dear callback,
You are asking a mix of question, some are related to IoP, and some to Libertaria. I'll try to cover them both. But please keep this to the IoP project the next time.
Also know you can always reach us on Discord and Telegram, it's probably easier and quicker to get your answers there.
What is with Hydra, the exchange is down?
The exchange of is currently flagged down and under investigation by our engineers to ensure stability & correct functioning.
We ask you for your patience during this period. Should you have any questions regarding the exchange, just ask. Obviously it will be back up soon, and don't worry your funds won't get lost.
What is with the Hydra release?
No blabla yadda yadda please, just say WHEN?
We don't say when, until we know for certain when when is. If you want to know more about the progress behind Hydra then you can watch for instance the presentation Libertaria made at the People First conference in Berlin.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0-FH9xF8G4. There is no when, because we don't know when. But development is going on steadily and very healthy.
We will update you as soon as there is more news.
Titania OS - release goes unnoticed, no publicity - fail.
Funny that you say so, apparently you noticed it, Libertaria just gave away 27 boxes to lucky winners in a online draw to which hundreds participated all around the globe.
Scoop: Libertaria is currently designing a stand alone page where you can find everything regarding Titania. The current release, is for early adopters and developers, hence it's pushed to sources they use, such as github and rust development communities.
Mercury Protocol - Announced as an SDK - a closer look reveals its barely a skeleton, completely useless in its current state - fail.
Sure this can be and will be expanded on actually, however we spoke about it in Berlin and we have developer eagerly waiting to work with it.
Hence we released it without to much fancy markups. Again aimed at the dApp developers who need it to create their dApps.
There is a registered company in California going by the name of Mercury Protocol, with a real product line, working in almost the same sector, running on ETH - name picking - fail.
https://www.mercuryprotocol.comThere is no conflict between the naming of our protocol and their activities.
Hydra - release and ICO was announced for the beginning of 2018 - for about three times the IoP price - fail.
As you are probably aware this is a huge project by Libertaria Hydra is a new approach to blockchain: a federated network of distinct blockchains all secured by a parent chain. Communities can set up their own economies and tokens on their own blockchain, all in a few mouse clicks. The parent chain secures all the child chains, combining the power of all the nodes in the network. The parent chain can also be used to exchange value between different child chains in atomic swaps, but because these child chains represent local economies, most transactions stay on the individual chains. Now any community can have run their own blockchain, getting all the efficiency benefits of keeping things local, while keeping the security and stability of a global system.
THE KEY FEATURES
Create your own blockchain: Use Hydra’s Genesis templates to create your own blockchain in just a few clicks.
Create your own token: Create your own cryptocurrency, secured with the consensus protocol of your choice.
Create your own community: Hydra provides governance, voting, smart contracts and more.
Fully scalable: Hydra scales globally while keeping most data and services local.
Fully secure: Written in Rust to prevent memory and overflow issues.
So this is not a simple task, to put it lightly. Alsi you probably also know we have chosen to build Hydra on the basis of our version of Algorand. This is not as simple as taking an existing version of a consensus and setting something up.
At this point not even the algorand team itself have released their version. Yes in an earlier version we prematurely announced the deadline of this project to early and it was pushed back. We will try and keep you up to date with publications and progress reports more accurately. In case you have questions, always feel free to contact me directly.
You can find me on both IoP and Libertaria's telegram and the shared discord.
Cheers,
Memnon
