No general ballpark? Say within a month? two months?

Not quite yet. Once we near its launch, we can definitely throw out firmer specifics, however. Those watching this thread will be one of the first to know once a new funding option becomes available.

That is great to know but can you elaborate on that? What are some mechanisms in place that would make it all impossible and that no one person or persons has this kind of ability?

For some of the security measures we put in place, feel free to check out our Security section of our website - https://www.kraken.com/en-us/features/security.

An additional source of interest would be our latest podcasts (specifically EP 3: Chasing the Conspiracy), where Jesse and Christina talk in depth about the recent QuadrigaCX situation - https://www.kraken.com/en-us/learn/podcast.

Just wanted to say that I'm glad for having Kraken as my main exchange!
The incident with Cryptopia made me realise that! Tongue

Keep going strong guys!

LOL, same case here. Through Kraken got a difficult time before, they rock solid now. I like when the things work as they should be Smiley

Though international individuals do not currently have any USD funding options available, we expect this to change soon.

This would be good and about time. How far away is it?

Also, how can we ensure that what happened to Quadriga is impossible at Kraken? That no single person's disappearance/death or bad intentions stuffs everyone and the exchange. And no empty cold wallets and other shady happenings.

Kraken is too big to have the same scenario happen. There is not only 1 guy mainly managing everything alone from IT to management.
They have many workers with a much complex structure.

You wouldn't expect this to happen to an entity holding 200M in assets either.... Nor for it to be a one man team.

Unfortunately we’re unable to provide any specific ETAs at the moment, however an announcement will be made here once it becomes available.

At Kraken, safeguarding your funds has and always will be a top priority of ours. We have multiple mechanisms in place to ensure a situation like this would never occur on Kraken.

We’re offering a $100,000 reward for discovery of Quadriga coins

About a month ago, on January 26, QuadrigaCX (a Canadian crypto exchange with clients around the world) suspended operations. Seven weeks prior, their CEO passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, leaving the business without a continuity plan. Supposedly, he was the only person who knew the location of and/or could access the client funds (fiat and crypto) totaling approximately $190 million US dollars (belonging to 115,000 clients). Some say the events and circumstances surrounding this case are too suspicious to be believed.

In response, Kraken is giving up to $100,000 USD (fiat or crypto) as a reward for the tip(s) that best lead to the discovery of the missing $190 million US dollars. For more details, please read our most recent blog post: https://blog.kraken.com/post/2155/were-offering-a-100000-reward-for-discovery-of-quadriga-coins/

To be specific, it is available to Tier 4 US individuals, US corporations and lastly, International corporations. Stating the obvious here but, US individuals and Corporations are covered by lower Tiers ANYWAY. What is glaringly obvious, is that International individuals are not covered even in Tier 4 UNLESS they change their account type to an International Corporation. So regardless of your tier, international individuals are shit out of luck and have been for a year.

With the world being your oyster and numerous banks in the US it would not take a year to establish such a relationship and that is a fact. All your competitors are also proof of this fact in how quickly they are able to 'establish' these banking relationships all over the planet including within the US.

Sampam,

When does the team plan to honor the CAVIRTEX shareholders on Havelock from the takeover back in 2016 when the statement said they will be made "whole" at the time.  It has been almost 3 years and as far as I know no one is "whole" yet.

Superbit,

There are no updates for Cavitrex shareholders at this time.

Going into a year now and EVERY exchange has expanded their offerings and allow for International USD including bitstamp, gemini, coinbase, bitfinex, bittrex, binance and just recently CEX.

What the hell is Kraken doing for almost a year that it is unable to do the same? (offers it for US residents or tier 4 50k US person/business or International business)

Sampam,

As you've mentioned, international USD funding is currently available to Tier 4 clients, however we can understand your frustration as there are transaction minimums to utilize the method.

Though we have no updates at the moment, we are still working on establishing new banking relationships that would re-enable international USD funding to both Tier 3 / 4 clients and remove the required high transaction minimums.

The "same" is what exactly? Because i don't understand what you are trying to say...
Reading your post is like...solving a puzzle! Roll Eyes

Obviously, offer International USD fiat deposits and withdrawals just like all of its competitors. This was an option that was removed a year ago next month and have been 'promising' to work on it since. Meanwhile, all of its competitors listed have managed to do that AND expand their offerings.

Kraken-Chase, thank you. I am glad that the team is working on re-enabling them.

Hi,
Because it is not possible to place both a stop loss and take profit using a conditional close and I suppose you can't have two orders with the same asset in the same time (for example, two sell orders for that same - 1 eth you bought), I would very much like old Combined Order Types back, at least one - Stop Loss, Take Profit Limit. Am I missing something? Besides Combined Order Types Smiley

Aeks,

Stop Loss Limit, Take Profit Limit, and other combined advanced order types are still unavailable at this time - as the team is still working on re-enabling these order types. Unfortunately, we do not currently have an estimated time on when they will be re-enabled, however.

Nice acquisition you got with Crypto Facilities, and a huge one. Congrats.

I have 2 questions
Crypto Facilities is regulated, right? Do we need to create another account, or there is a way to link our Kraken account to it

(On the Kraken platform you forgot to add the Yen icon to https://www.kraken.com/u/funding/withdraw)

LeGaulois,

1. Yes, Crypto Facilities is authorized and regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority.

2. You do not need to create a new account. As gentlemand has already mentioned, you'll want to follow the steps included in the following support article: https://support.kraken.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022618012-how-to-unlock-futures-trading
