community needs to support it. New money is coming soon into the scene. Don't let it die so short before the finish-line. Coin has lot more traction than most. Just needs some updates maybe and some support.

Patience and persistance wins the day.
what new money?

Due to lack of miners, development and supporters we regret to inform you that this pool is now closed. Please cash out your coins immediately. I will run a full payout to all accounts that have addresses specified. Those that don't should add an address ASAP as the site, DB and wallets will be deleted very soon. Sorry for the inconvenience, Nut

Just 2 pools left, only one decent  Cry

Yeah, sorry guys but a quick look around shows about 5 miners which isn't enough to sustain the network effectively and the pool definitely isn't covering costs. I would be inclined to leave it running but the daemon constantly runs 1 core of our processors at 100% so chews through valuable resources too (Before anyone says our processors must be weak, we run dual E5-2687 v2 in our boxes).

Could everyone please ensure they cashout ASAP? There are a LOT of coins payable to users that have not entered a payout address...

Thanks and Sorry

Nut.

Thank you bitcodo.

Maybe devs should place detailed mining information on:
http://microcoin.alcurex.info/pools/

Or is someone still mining with microcoinminer (every n-factor change i had problems with the thread concurrency Grin)

Not so good that nutnut closed the pool. What can we do? Are devs not mining? I really want to support the network but i can't add more hashpower due to high electricity costs.

bitcodo: You said there are 2 pools left. I only know about blocksolved, what is the second one?

coinsprofit, but is inactive for many weeks. So yes, actualy just blocksolved.

Halibit is not mining today, but when he does, he has a bit more than 10 KH/s. It is just you, anonymous and mitko.  Sad

Maybe there are some people they don't know how to mine this coin?

If somebody wants to mine - here's my instruction (maybe someone can make it better and more detailed?):

you should have a pc / mining rig with at least one amd graphics card and windows 7 or 8; 8 GB of RAM is recommended
you need to set environment variables to achive high gpu ram usage - setx commands never worked properly for me, so please do it like i tell you below:

go to system properties -> advanced -> environment variables (i hope this is correct; i have german windows system)

like this: http://www.itechtalk.com/thread3595.html

you need to set a new system variable and not user variable

variable name: GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT
variable value: 100

don't use setx commands in your batch file, this is not needed!

then use yacminer https://github.com/Thirtybird/YACMiner/releases

and generate the settings for your graphics card(s) and n-factor here: http://www.ultracoin.net/configgen_raw.html
-> change startT to: --StartT 1389028879

you can use this pool for mining (second pool needs to be added):

http://mrc.blocksolved.com/
http://mrc.blocksolved.com/index.php?page=gettingstarted

I did this within a few minutes, maybe someone can check if it's ok Wink

I'll just add link to [ANN] YACMiner - AMD GPU miner for Scrypt-Chacha, N-Scrypt, and Scrypt coins

X13: There are about (i guess) 10 miners and they don't care about it; if X13 becomes mainstream, X13 coins will be the next asic-destroyed coins

Anon: Not needed and not wanted for serious transactions (therefore special anon coins should be used); I also think that anon coins will not be well accepted in stores because people think they are for illegal things (maybe i'm wrong, but it's my opinion)

POS: Okay, that could be useful

Webstores: I think we first need more market cap which we need to gain through MRC market on alcurEX (devs need to add more coins!)

Multipools: Can you explain the advantages of that and how multipools can be used?

alcurEX: It's not ugly in my eyes and it has more functions than many other exchanges

Whats the word on algo change?

Why change something that's not broken?

X11 may be the current hot topic, but high NFactor coins are going to be minable on your GPUs much longer than X11.  One of the design principals of every algorithm in X11 is that it is easily parrallizable for hardware implementation (reference http://csrc.nist.gov/groups/ST/hash/sha-3/Round2/Aug2010/documents/papers/SCHAUMONT_SHA3.pdf ) - what kind of hash rate an algorithm has doesn't really matter since everyone has to use the same algorithm.  If it's high, then the network hashrate is just high - if everyone's is low, the whole network has a low hashrate, and the difficulty adjusts to keep the blocktimes within the target time.

As the NFactor goes up on MRC, the GPUs become memory limited and power consumption and heat go down as it spends more time doing memory operations than computations.  The other thing is that the hardware for mining high NFactor coins effectively is significantly less expensive than the hardware to mine X11, and additionally, CPU's can be used fairly effectively too (watt for watt they aren't there yet, but maybe at NF=16)

NFactor is old news if you are not developing services around the coin.
MRC has nothing going for it for nearly a year now... everybody was waiting for the damn alcurex. the ugliest exchange I have ever seen. and that changed nothing.

something needs to change.

change to X13, add anon, PoS, a few webstores, multipools and the price will increase

Can we implement a TOP100 wallet explorer? It would be nice to know what amounts people are holding Smiley.

Mintpal probably holds at least 50%  Grin

change the algorithm x11 and add POS

Support x11- something new:

  • algorithm uses eleven hashing functions from the Blake algorithm to the Keccak algorithm making it very secure.
  • gives fast hashes for both GPU’s and CPU’s.
  • keeps GPU’s over 30% cooler.
  • Being more complicated than a SHA256 ASIC implementation, allow for a longer period of mining for CPU/GPU users.

Support POS - consume less power:

Proof-of-stake (POS) is a method of securing a cryptocurrency network through requesting users to show ownership of a certain amount of currency. This process secures the network and gradually produces new coins over time without consuming significant computational power.
Proof-of-work (POW) run hashing algorithms to validate electronic transactions

Can implement both POS and POW such as in Peercoin can makes a malicious attack on the network more difficult.

Also support new improved wallet - faster transactions - wallet open faster - logo smaller - brand blue in wallet colours / icons etc.

Innovative idea - couple the purchasing of AlcuEx shares to mrc (trade directly on AlcuEx) and use % of AlcuEx trading profits to automatically buy mrc for btc.

I feel embarrassed as i don't understand how POS mining works and what advantages can be taken of it. I'm happy how the current mining works and i also don't see the necessity to change it.

Maybe someone could explain POS. Do i need GPUs for POS or does it just use the "stake" in my wallet? Is this a damage for regular gpu miners? And do people with a big stake get exponentially more coins?

Sorry for all that questions. Maybe it's a little off-topic. It's generally interest and doesn't refer to this coin.

You let your wallet open, and that way you help to secure the network. You do use some of the CPU power, but you get 'interest'.

You do get inflation - increased money supply, so value can drop a bit. But, if you enable stake minting, you don't lose dollar value, as you have more coins.

I think that if this coin don't attract more miners, POS will be necessary.

We will see what happens in 2 weeks, when N will be 14.

I like YAC, 'parent' of MRC and I ALWAYS enable stake minting.

Adding a little bit PoS to microcoin (about 2-3 %) but keeping everything else as it is (algo, rewards, ..) would not hurt the coin price IMO.
I would vote against any change to pure PoS or algo changes (unless something is broken), but adding mild PoS could have a positive effect to MRC.

Thank you for that short and very informative posting Smiley. For that i could install the wallet on my mining pc and then it can be open all the time Grin.
