You need to open the wallet every 20 days to mint new coins.

update and close it?

The wallet has to be open in order to mint new coins. It would be best to leave it open for a few hours, at the very least, and probably a day or two would be best - especially if you haven't had it open for any length of time since February.

Also - the less coins you have, the longer it will take to successfully mint new coins.

One more thing - your wallet needs to be unlocked as well.

Anyone else having issues with Mintpal? The server down?
You guys should really consider diversifying a bit from the Mintpal exchange anyway. Try using Poloniex... https://poloniex.com/exchange/btc_mint

Fee is only .005% higher, but you get a lot more additional features such as the ability to do Stop-Limit orders, and charts that track moving averages, Bollinger bands, Fib Levels, etc. Probably worth it, imo.

Overall I'm quite happy with Mintpal.
While I have an account at Poloniex, I prefer Mintpal.
The only reason I would consider switching to Poloniex is if Mintcoin was delisted from Mintpal due to low trading volume.
Why do you prefer Mintpal? I was just letting people know of decent alternative, because it seems like in the last couple pages people were showing disdain for Mintpal. There is also Cryptsy too.
BTW, sorry... the trading fee over at Poloniex is .2% which is .05% higher than Mintpal, rather than .005%.
Just seems simple to use.
Used Poloniex a couple times early on, trading offers (bids/offers) seem sort of thin compared to Mintpal.

where is the big news man?

The big news will be released by mintcointeam when they are ready.

If in fact it is BIG news. Could fall under the category of update (android wallet) or announcement about another project like Sonoma. Not exactly BIG news, but news.

Based on previous hype, my expectations are low.

Still holding.

You are not the only node having issues crindon -- I am seeing similar behavior across multiple systems.  I even recompiled from latest source to rule out local issues.  There appears to be a systemic issue with the network of some sort that has been occurring over the past ~2 days.

I don't see anything from the devs and I haven't heard anything on IRC.

If anyone has a lead, please post it here.

For the time being, I've removed mintcoin from my multi-coin projects.

I have noticed that the volume on BTER (https://bter.com/trade/mint_btc) is now higher than on Mintpal. Is it because the Mintpal exchange is having issues? Or could it be because there is a now a CNY market for Mintcoin (https://bter.com/trade/mint_cny) on the same exchange and China is consisting of 10% of the total trading volume of Mintcoin now.

@CoinHeavy: What are you talking about? Crindron said he is having issues with Mintpal (the exchange) not Mintcoin. What behavior are you talking about? What issue? Are you talking about Mintpal or Mintcoin as the two are completely unrelated.

No, It's very hard to deposit CNY to crypto market now. The bad gov has cut down the CNY channel.
