Understood, problem is that workstations do not have a dedicated GPU (you are not supposed to play 3D games at work!)
Will look into that lyra2re algo though.

I have some workstations sitting idle over the weekend at my workplace, can someone suggest which algorithm would be best for CPU mining at nicehash?

I think the only algo on nicehash where cpu hashrate is comparable to gpu is lyra2re (cpu can do about 500, an r9 290 can do about 1700).
Unfortunately very little or no orders...

I prefer Zakir over Muhammed when mentioning me!

I don't think you should use CPU to mine but if you have some GPUs, you might get some.

I recommend multialgo when mining with CPU/GPU. https://www.nicehash.com/?p=multialgo

@nicehash

I've had a balance over 0.005 for 3-4 days. Has something changed since I did not receive a payout yet?

At this FAQ https://www.nicehash.com/index.jsp?p=faq#faqs5 , it's states:

"...Every fourth payment (once per day) is issued if balance is greater than 0.004 BTC...."

Sorry if this has been already asked, but I have a problem with dynamic diff adjustment on whirlpoolx algo.
I'm setting it at 1 in the password field and it works fine, but at times it gets reset to 0.004 leading to tons of shares: stratum disconnects or changes the diff leading to a good amount of rejects. I believe that happens when my workers get assigned to a different order. It's like the diff setting doesn't stick when the price changes.
Any way to fix this?

Unfortunately not, please see the "Note:" in this FAQ: https://www.nicehash.com/?p=faq#faqs9. Also, read appendix C) in this FAQ: https://www.nicehash.com/?p=faq#faqg3

when scrypt went thru the roof not long ago
i decided to rent a bunch of A2's to join the party.
all of em were west-US, so i pointed to westhash.com,
workers were reconnecting every 10-15min which drastically cut the profits.
then i switched to nicehash.com, reconnects were every 40-60min, acceptable.
i don't know what that means, just reporting...

Can anybody confirm that pointing your rig to nicehash instead of westhash solve the problem? Thanks

I've also been experiencing an elevated and intermittent number of rejected shares especially on Qubit & x11.  I pointed my rig to other pools using identical configurations and much like expected, no problems arose.

Is there anything wrong with westhash or its my problem? I have a average speed of 850Mh/s but all of sudden my speed was reduced to 650 Mh/s with plenty of reject.

https://www.westhash.com/?p=miners&a=3&addr=12Luqz8jqCFCsCEDmUPhuwYrZfubwxoLhd

Thanks..

If I had to guess I would say it's westhash.  I can't say for sure but I've also been having trouble with rejects lately but intermittently, especially on one machine.  I'm not too far below you.

You can view what kind of rejects you have. If it is stale share, then it is probably network problem - higher latencies. If it is any other type of rejected shares - then check your miners/software as something is must be wrong on your side.

I've hit 8.3MH/s on a 290x as well as 7.6 MH/s on a 290 and I encourage others too share their config/results.

What settings do you use to hit 8.3 with a 290x?

Intensity @ 23
GPU Threads @ 1
Worksize @ 128
Core/Mem Clock @ 1160/1500

Scrypt has gone through the roof, would be nice to point my machines here but both pools just report as dead.

Tried with and without #xnsub and the same with #skipcbcheck

Tried westhash and nicehash, tried with and without worker names.

Tried p=, d=, x and other combinations, reboots and restarts but always dead Sad

They helped me that way when this happened to me.
