please release the windows client all ready to go for us noobs!

doing my best, i'm re-learning windows right now, i am for fair balanced release, sorry though for the mac guys, i dont own a mac or even know where to get it.

No shame in having to learn. Much worse with 'developers' who make up shit to cover up that they just copy pasted some LTC clone or had Hazard compile it for them. Good luck!

Which coins the Hazard compile for other folks?

Could anyone post a link to a ( hopefull simple...) tutorial on how to compile on windows ? I have no idea how that works. You need... dependencies, no ? Are they some kind of libraries with little programs that windows needs to make the... eh... source into something ...bootable ?

My IQ is not 150 like some of you dudes so I'm gonna need an idiot proof, step by step tutorial Grin

By the way, I love the name Noirbits.

Looks promising, but A lot of users do not know how to compile the Windows QT client, so I advice you release it with the source together, to attract as many people as possible!

My advice would be to contact BlastBob and send him source maybe 20 min before launch. As far as I know he has always been helpful in QT compilation and pool setup. Part of the QT issue can also be negated by havin 2+ p2p pools up at launch, allowing for mining without a setup wallet until QT is available.

Since i still have a few hours, i'll try once more to get a working windows client, if it does not work, i'll give it to blastbob if he is willing.

Research Coin, community managed and developed. Centralized management has caused the downfall of too many coins.

  • 2 minute block time
  • 20 coins per block
  • 50 million total coins
  • expected run time ~ 9 years
  • 30 confirms
  • Hourly retarget

The 30 confirms are a response to the 4~10 confirmation coins released of late which encourage orphans and reduce security of the currency.

Nice balanced numbers.

What about the subsidy reduction rate?

Isn't the number of confirms just a convention?

I think it's all in shakezula's tutorial: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-foo-and-bar-coins-a-how-to-guide-for-cutpaste-cryptocurrency-217636

so release is at 11:27 pm GMT...?

.conf ...?

was following the old thread and hoping for a bit more glamorous launch thread ;(

You of all people know that i'm a glam fail.

It's a community coin, surely some people from the community could've been found to help avoid these problems and/or support the coin. Shit, even get some binaries built prior to release so everything isn't on the OP.

If you don't know Windows, why not bring in somebody from the community to help.

Everyone always screams about these take overs and scam coins and all of this, but I've only seen a couple of people really try to make a community based coin and most of those were announced and are still being worked on.

Instead of scam coining daily, let's make a couple really nice idea coins for the community and let everyone support them(this could be one of them, I hope it does wind up great). There will still be kids running a muck and causing problems, but the more people behind the coin, the stronger it should be and honestly if one person can derail a coin so easily, it shouldn't survive anyway.

Good luck, with Windows. But for a community coin, why a 12 hour release? Why did you have to install Windows yourself? Was nobody in the community of devs able or willing to help?

If not, why not wait until everything was in order for a really nice launch. I like the idea of a community coin, but let's get one started right, why rush into it?

With the flood of 51% attacks, coin takeovers and compile hacking lately I fully understand that OP is leery of giving anyone the source code to compile with generated genesis block. I actually think his release so far is looking promising, for an alt coin.

no whining please.

Why not?
Without Windows-qt this will be another fail.

By the time Windows-qt is released, you already mine hundreds of blocks...
From my point of view, that's the same as pre-mine.

Compile it NOW!
