this is what i did now:
i ran the old wallet that is not syncing anymore. i got the priv key. i closed it. i removed all files from the roaming, but had to put the aliencoin.conf file back for the nodes.
i ran the new wallet and it loaded the blocks with a new adres. when i import the priv key i get this:{"code":-5,"message":"Invalid private key"}

i also did this:

i ran the old wallet that is not syncing anymore. i got the priv key. i closed it. i removed all files from the roaming, but left aliencoin.conf and wallet.dat.
i run the new wallet and it loads the blocks with no wallet adres. when i import the priv key i get this:{"code":-5,"message":"Invalid private key"}

the second one doesnt make sense, if u leave ur wallet.dat u simply will see ur old wallet ^^

make sure again u noticed the right privkey
u may have to use :walletpassphrase pw 600 to unlock ur wallet if u encrpyted it
make sure u repeat this FOR ALL Adresses in ur old wallet

move the whole folder to another place, while wallet is NOT running
there should be NO folder anymore, no config nothing
start aliencoin from fresh, import the privkeys

it will take a while to find peers, to reload and scan the blockchain

i had one adres and not encrypted.

ok, i removed all from the roaming folder. i started the new wallet and after a while it synced. i tried to import the priv key but: {"code":-5,"message":"Invalid private key"}
so the new wallet looks good, synced and with a new adres, but i can not import the key.

this is my old adres 4vz3YkSBtyAmJURALnrGgaAc4SCUh6Pcyx
when i type validateaddress it says false, does that mean my adres is not correct? (just guessing)

hi,

i probably did something wrong and lost my 58.000 aliencoins;

my wallet was not syncing anymore so i downloaded it again (most of the times there was an update). i removed all files from the roaming folder except the wallet.dat file and the conf file. and run the new qt file. it synced quite fast. now i have no more coins i my wallet but it shows the number 1456 transactions, i mined 1456 blocks.
- can i get the aliencoins back somehow?
- and what did i do wrong? i do not want to loose numbers like this in the future..

thanks

looks like you wanted to dump your Aliens so they got beamed back onto the mother-ship... Tut Tut.
Dumping will not be tolerated below 0.0010000 BTC
you have been warned. Nanoo Nanoo
is this fa real?

Ofcourse not, where did you save your Wallet.dat file before installing a fresh wallet?

i left the wallet. dat and the conf file in the roaming folder (i have done this for a lot of other coins too).
the strange thing is it shows the number of transactions, but there is no coins as you can see in the screenshot.
i mined them at the start of the coin and maybee only 10 blocks were not confimed.

extract ur private key, by opening the wallet, coping your address , go to the console in help menu, execute "dumprivkey" "youraddress". write down the priv key ( u may repeat this for every address in your wallet)
close wallet, move !! (dont delete) the whole config folder in approaming to a save location, i repeat, DONT DELETE IT.
reopen wallet, it will download the blockchain again. go to console enter "importprivkey" "yourprivatekey" and wait till the chain is rescaned

post ur results Tongue

thanks for the reply.
i think you are right the problem is there somewhere. because when i run the new wallet(with the old wallet.dat file still in the roaming folder) it starts with no adres.

this is what i did now:
i ran the old wallet that is not syncing anymore. i got the priv key. i closed it. i removed all files from the roaming, but had to put the aliencoin.conf file back for the nodes.

hope i give enough info, any ideas left?

thanks again

The Scifi Exchange (https://www.scifi-ex.com) proudly welcomes Aliencoin/ALN to the family. ALN is trade-able as of 02/02/2014.

The Scifi Exchange is an exchange that was born out of the Star Trek coin community (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/star-trek-crypto-coin-thread-big-changes-are-coming-377997), where we promote 3 coins:
- United Federation Credit (UFC) is Blake265 coin, 50 coins per block.
- Klingon Empire Darsek (KED) is Scrypt POS/POW coin, 3.5 coins per block.
- Gold Pressed Latinum (GPL) is Scrypt-Jane POS/POW, very rare: 0.2 coin per block!

We have a vibrant forum, with a dedicated Giveaway section that can be used to promote this coin: http://scificointalk.com/index.php/board,12.0.html

We ask that you would consider to help us promote the coins to Cryptsy by liking and posting comments on:
https://cryptsy.freshdesk.com/support/discussions/topics/74527

See you soon at the exchange!!

Thank you for adding Aliencoin to Scifi-ex
