Please go to your user/appdata/roaming/growcoin folder.... Back up your wallet.dat to somewhere outside this folder... then remove the growcoin folder, this will delete the old chain.
Open up the new wallet. let it start.... Shut down the wallet... go to your user/appdata/roaming/growcoin folder... remove the new generated wallet.dat... then get your backed up wallet.dat and paste it into the user/appdata/roaming/growcoin folder... restart your wallet... and voila

I am so upset now i can't FIND MY COINS..I RENAMED THE .DAT file so i could recognize it then renamed it back when i loaded it but no coins appearing what to do now?
The easiest way imo is to paste wallet.dat somewhere else, delete everything (except wallet.dat) then run new wallet. In that case you can have backup of your wallet if you accidently delete it in Roaming folder.
I did and renamed it so i could recognize it coz i have another .dat..i put it in my documents tried to do what you say but i buggered up somewhere.. now i can't evne open the qt says error loading blikindex.dat so i gonna see if i can do it on other comp..
Try this:
- place you wallet.dat that contains your coins in a safe folder.
- delete the whole folder in Roaming/etcetc for Growcoin.
- restart the new wallet. Then close it.
- Now place your old wallet.dat containing your coins into the just new created folder fro Growcoin in AppData/Roaming/etcetc
- restart your wallet again, and that's it
